  • Iyar - The New Month of Bright Light & Healing!
Israel Enters Rafiach to Finish the Job!
Torah insists that we become holy - kadosh - but how do we do so? Parashat Kedoshim gives us a way. Iyar is here, a month chock full of special days and mitzvot to fulfill! At last, after many months of stalling, mainly due to US pressure, Israel sends its troops into Rafiach, the last stronghold of Hamas, the darlings of America's elite universities.

    Luke 10:25-37
[25]And behold, an interpreter of the law stood up and said to test him, Teacher, by doing what shall I inherit eternal life?
[26]And he said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
[27] And he answered and said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.
[28] And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
[29]But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
[30]Jesus answered and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, and they stripped him, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
[31] And it came to pass, when a certain priest went down that way, and saw him, he passed by.
[32] And a Levite also came near that place, and when he saw him, he passed by.
    [33] But a Samaritan, as he went on his way, came near him, and seeing him, was moved with compassion;
[34]And he came near, and bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to the inn, and took care of him.
[35]And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the innkeeper, and said unto him, Take care of him: and whatsoever thou spendest more, I will repay thee when I come again.
[36]Who then of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor to him that fell into the hands of the robbers?
[37]He said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go and do thou likewise.

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (James 4:1-17)

Yes. But YHWH is true and follows up with His promises with His beloved always.
And remember, Yeshuah is the shepherd who brings back ALL 100 shep. He also collected you and me who were wandering astray and we have zero, nothing, nada to boast about - even us believing is a fruit of GODs work. NOT ours. YHWH loves us and reconciles us through Yeshuah our beloved Lord, Saviour and King seated on the throne of David!

You’ll never achieve “love your neighbor” with this
How differently things would have been if you focused on the first word, kohenim, instead of the second, qodesh, in this scripture? A nation of priests. What then? Would y’all just sit around and talk priestly to each other? Of course not. You were supposed to teach the world. You didn’t. You got to the point where Pharisees wouldn’t even interact with their own Hebrew neighbors.
But you focus here on the second word, , on being separate. Still.
How different would this lesson have been if you focused Merriam Websters first definition of “share” instead of the second definition?
“I am what you share” (to partake of, or enjoy with others)
    Sigh
    Nothing has been learned.
FWIW , I hope your goals in Rafah are realized
