- Welcome to another edition of Realtree Global Hunting, right here on Team Wild TV. This week we are joined by Keith Watson of K&A Services and Cervus UK's Owen Beardsmore.
This episode we look into the various types of deer calling whilst out hunting Muntjac deer in the Chilterns.
It is cull time here in the woods and both Owen and Keith are set to take a some Muntjac not only for the cull sheets, but for the dinner table to. In doing so, will ensure an strong and healthy herd for future generations.

Last year I called in 14 coyotes all in 1 shot with a dog toy squeaker and my and my own voice for calls. Its a mixture and a matter of wind, season of the year, position of blind to hunting ground, and so many other things. its a a matter of trying different stuff and finding what works for you.

Just curious why you don't bleed the deer when shot and then gralloch immediately???
Hi Donald. Did you see the size of the exit wound? On a small deer like that, it would have bled out pretty quick. The lungs and heart will be smashed with the bullet impact. The deer would have been gralloched pretty quick as well. These guys know what they are doing. Sometimes if I shoot a deer early on, i'll bleed it and wait to see if anything else comes in. As long as you are not all day, the carcass will be fine.

The particular area that the doe was shot is open to the public so I took the carcase to a discreet area to gralloch. It was cleaned within 10 minutes of dispatch and left hanging to drain and cool. Thanks for your interest.

CervusUK Once field dressed i like to place a bag of ice in the innards place and one between the legs. For such a small cervid the bags would have to be quite small and filled with ice cubes, but it works well to keep the carcass cooled and the met prime quality. Some hunter's kid discovered then that they liked venison...

Hi, yes it is with Muntjac. If you shoot one that isn't pregnant, it's likely that she will have a dependant close by. They breed constantly so this method is an ethical one Shamrock. Hope you enjoyed the show.
