Kids can drown even while wearing a certified lifejacket/lifesaving device. Puddle Jumpers ARE Coast Guard approved Type 3 PFDs. But there may be companies that make it in a puddle jumper style that isn't. Stop spreading misinformation in the comments. Always be within arms reach and ensure supervision at all times. As a team supervisor for lifeguards and swimming instructors, I've seen and saved many kids who were drowning beside an adult due to lack of supervision.
