Trailer, I Am Looking For An Invisible Movie [7] 5-14-24
available as VOD at: vimeo.com/ondemand/iamlooking7
Today’s long release has a curious form, and perhaps requires an author’s note.
In form: Today’s release is part of a time story. As an author, I investigate my characters within this place. Since I’ve been at this story for 30 years, I decided to pinpoint time, and so adopted a 26 day cycle as form. I began the counting upon an accidental arrival in Tokyo on 9/11/23, which was also exactly 6 months past the most recent anniversary of the Fukushima Triple Disaster. Continuing in ignorance, I counted to the next Day 1, there in Tokyo, which by accident was again a catastrophe, 10/7/23, the first day of the Gaza War. Soon after I counted backwards to find that August 9, 1945, which contained the moment of the detonation of an atomic bomb in Nagasaki, was also a Day 1. A stopped clock thus occurs every 26 days. Or perhaps a stopped clock is wrong at least once a day. I don’t know. In any case, in today’s release, the characters are within Day 11, which at that moment means they are on a highway heading towards the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Reactor Station, on 9/21/23, and also driving through the dried-up water disasters of the Anza-Borrego desert, near the Salton Sea, on 2/23/24.
In content : Generally speaking… this series of releases, for which you receive one email after another, together constitute a very long movie. In this continuing movie, there are two main characters, who claim to live in some imaginarily real version of Nagasaki, to be detectives and UFO investigators, and who say they are searching for an invisible movie called THE TELEPATHIC MOTION PICTURE OF THE LOST TRIBES. The characters together claim that these releases, that is to say this movie in which they present themselves, are in fact are a series of instructional videos for UFOs, which they create as part of their investigative strategy. However, due to the form and content of these videos, it might be that these two first-person people are recursively part of the group of UFOs whom they investigate, teach, and learn from, while entertaining you, wherever you are.
In technique: As an author of motion pictures, I have no interest in formal issues, as I am neither an artist nor a philosopher, but I do enjoy the ignorances of technique. So let me tell you a story in that direction, which constitutes this locally declared author’s note.
Back in 1993, when I started this recurrent and continuing movie, there were lots of utopian schemes running through the electricity, one of which was artificial intelligence. I, in all ignorance, signed on to that as one [among several] technically aspirational forms for this movie, and then waited, making do with badly imagined imitations, blandly hoping that the world would not end in the meantime.
So I accumulated video and text and thoughts and techniques, and tried not to forget what I had.
Then that [AI, not my forgetting] happened a couple years ago, a series of techniques of techniques that even taught us how to use it, but of course I remain as ignorant as I am.
So for those last couple years, I’ve been using this and that, to see what text to voice, voice to text, text to image, and text to video actually have to do with the reality of the imaginary movietalking that carries this story of stories.
So, that is what is happening on the bones of today’s release. Our characters are not only in place, in times, but they have also reached up to the shelves of their thoughts to pull out Volume K [ie. 11, in secret code] of the Encyclopedia which is the purported but actually existing repository of their 26 years of investigation. With that, and with those techniques, our characters are of course trying to figure everything out, and this is how they do it, with electrical tricks that create a lucid dullness which, as declared, is crude. The dullest and most fragmented parts happen in what is known as the real time of thought, which is ok since this is the exploratory beginning of their movietalking. Sooner or later, by their own intuition, this all will resolve to the mysteries of story, in story-time.
In the outer world, where I am, I started this series of releases on Jan. 1 this year, as a very very long movie that finds out how to make itself. It is meant to be fun, not formal, and it is open to your eyes. This sort of making will go on to the end of the year, when, mental muscles warm and knowledge implicit, I will pivot, spinning and spinning, to a more traditional feature film format for the duration of that year.

hi everyone! I've just published THE MANHATTAN PROJECTION [1], which is a 13 part, 13 hour, intro section to the next long movie, which, as promised, is completely narrative... though be patient, for it is a bit slow, as the protagonist spends a lot of time making instructional videos for UFOs, which means absolutely everything has to be explained, and twice. THE MANHATTAN PROJECTION [1] is vid...

An annotated walk-through... useful because not everyone understands how it works.
I wish you could speak, but that would just mean that you don't know. Did you ever release Jews in Space? 🚀
Absolutely fascinating. Thank you for the sincerity you put into this.
Great!!
if this were Minds platform I'd post an occult puzzle flyer from FlyingAxblade.

Where is the link to buy I need to finish my collection
The first part of the edit is now vod (stream and download) on vimeo, 13hrs, clickable link in trailer at thefirstmovieontheinter.net
Is there anywhere to buy a physical release of this (awesome) movie?
Will be, soon, haven't forgotten you asked
David! I love this film so much. Do you have a recording of just the soundtrack?
rewatching for the umpteenth time lol. i think youve actually changed my life david
Thank you! :)
Many people believe elephants are scared of bees. Likewise, I think the first video on the internet, which is about bees, should dominate in popularity over the first video on CZcams, which is about elephants.
thanks david!
I'm excited to experience this and glad you're delving into AI imagery. With your creative engine, you could be generating some wondrous things soon. Tonight, I shall fall asleep to the audio of these episodes. Tomorrow I'll experience the visuals.
Thank you! :)
The first Bee Movie on the internet.
The script is clearly written by timetravelling Jorge Louis Borges who slacked for too long in the 70's and 69's, read too much of Principia Discordia, the Onion articles and SubGenius, listened to Sun City Girls and Negativland, and watched Xavier the Renegade Angel and Stingray Sam. Or some early AI or autofill.
This is a truly marvellous piece of film history. Words can't fully describe how inspiring it is to see someone capable of making a movie with this much intricacy at such an early point in the internet's life, absolutely magical viewing experience. Thank you David!
You are welcome! :)
i fucking love this
David I applaude you! There’s nothing (aside from your own work) that’s been made before or since this which is anything like this, Wax is a truly unique film, one that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. Thank you for creating and uploading it! Jack
Thank you, Jack.

I watched this in college during a Science Fiction survey class. That was 25 years ago and I think of it often. It sticks deep in the mind.
This was the first film to be streamed on the Internet dated back in 1991. Due to bandwidth limitations, it was broadcast at 2 frames per second rather than the standard 24 frames per second.
David this is sincerely one of the most canonical and mind-blowing things ever created, you have an imagination unlike any other and the execution of this vision was so perfectly nailed that I can hardly believe something so brilliant exists. Thank you so much for all of your hard work in creating this masterpiece!!!
Thank you!! :))
had a great morning watching this for the first time, thanks for uploading
Present🙋👍Th-is Amazing!!!!!
Present🖐🥸you gothat right random fan. Thanks forecommending me to this channel. And youright! Doing dishes does taste better🤑 after watching the first movie on the internet!
fucking awesome
Came here after reading a book titled Binge Times
I’m so happy this is on CZcams
What in the "MK Ultra" did I stumble across?
you really had visions of net-art! at 1991 it is pretty prophetic.
This is the greatest movie ever made.
You're very kind, thank you. Posting more here soon.
Second time watching! Of many! This is a masterpiece!!
Thx!
Legendary -- I used to work at a small TV station in Anchorage Alaska in the 90's and we watched the FRF VHS of WAX many, many times there, in the editing rooms.
Thank you for that, that's a great anecdote :)) the VHS in the TV Station
@@thefirstmovieontheinternet You're welcome
this is one of the most compelling and unique and brilliant pieces of media i've ever consumed, David you are genuinely an unbelievable human being for being able to make something as gifted and magical as this. completely beyond description and comprehension. i genuinely wish everyone would see this movie at least once. every second of it is completely lovely and interesting.
Wow :) well thank you very much!!
I WATCHED THIS ON ACID LIKE 8 YEARS AGO AND HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT EVER SINCE OMFG
I saw this movie as a video installation at the Johnson art museum at Cornell.
Experimental television center
Really interesting, cool to see someone else from New Mexico, tho I don’t live in alamagordo
out of curiosity what software and/or hardware did you use to render 3d objects like the bee television? i'm especially curious because of how you were able to project footage onto objects and have it play in real time.
Dedicated effects device, microtime impact, more than 30 years ago.
@@thefirstmovieontheinternet aaaah that's so cool!!!!
@@thefirstmovieontheinternet oh also, did you use an Akai S-series sampler for the timestretched effects on some sounds? like in the intro the vocal going "WWWAAAXXX" thank u so much for the response btw that makes me so happy
@@ontology3 oh I don't know, the musicians knew how to do that :) 'the history of unheard music'. You are welcome :)
the music at 22:20 is one of the most beautiful things i've ever heard. the amount of work put into any given sound or shot in here is admirable. thank you
thanks! the musicians, Beo Morales, Brooks Williams, History of Unheard Music
I turned off the radar...... And headed towards the moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I keep coming back
glad you enjoy it
This is the film I watched when I was in the primordial soup, a couple weeks from now. Thank you David, this is tremendously inspiring for me.
thank you :)
Two CZcams users have not seen the light of the underground sun
lots of dust, a usual problem
I like it, strong Tom Robbins vibe
Thx
Saw a poster for Wax on the end of a school library shelf. The film became sort of a myth for me. Didn't get to see it until I got a hold of a VHS copy in late college, '97 or so. Made all my friends watch it during the 2000s. Most of them hated it; all the ones who didn't are still my friends to this day. I'm so happy to see you around and replying to your fans, David! I've been hoping to find a good CZcams copy someday and I can't wait to introduce a new generation of friends to this bizarre humane film.
hi! I wonder if that is because Wax is a single page book always found at the end of a library shelf, trying to become a film, one frame at a time! Thanks for the story and the name -humane :)
This is the weirdest episode of How It’s Made
True
just when i thought i had already seen all the super weird movies that suit a psychedelic movie night, along comes this gem. total disorientation. strange fascination. reprogramming of pathways long disconnected way back by the dead on the moon created by the bees of kain, slayer of abel, inventor of the secret language that would one day come back to fulfill the destiny of creating a simulation of consciousness made from living symbols that contain the souls of the dead of the future in the form of bees from the garden of eden which refers to a cave that exists in the past inside a planet at the end of time and space itself that is folded into a telescope to insert the robotic target seeking consciousness of blind insectoid gods into missiles to come back to the place where my half brother used to live when he was a contractor for a company with ties to the US military that was founded by the grandmother of his stepsister to launch weapons loaded with the embodimend of the mind of kain who slew his brother abel out of jealousy for his bees, to fulfill his destiny of merging with his target in the first iraq war. it all makes sense at the end. a movie from and for bees.
well put! :)
