Climbing the Northwest Rib of Curecanti Needle
Jordan and I cautiously return to approaches involving water sports (kayaking) and climb the Northwest Rib on the Curecanti Needle. Early season made for some chilly camping temperatures, but perfect climbing conditions. While the river does not look like it was flowing much, the requirement of paddling back upstream was new to me and the warning of release flows from the dam made me nervous. All in all, great rock quality (above the first pitch) and amazing setting, with an adventurous approach!

Ice Climbing: Stairway to Heaven, Sherman Climb, and Ouray
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed rokem
Spanning the 2022 and 2023 ice season, this video highlights some of our favorite climbing days out. After missing backcountry ice during a late season trip, we abandon Camp Bird Road and the Charmin Tube for the Ouray Ice Park. In Lake City, we enjoy Sherman Climb and then Stairway to Heaven the next month in Eureka. -KB
Climbing Ancient Art // Stolen Chimney
zhlédnutí 1,6KPřed rokem
Jordan and I finished our "van-life" tour of the west coast but decided to take it out for one more spin before selling it to climb the short Ancient Art Stolen Chimney. Great time before moving on to climb some desert cracks in the Creek. -KB
Climbing the North East Ridge of Bugaboo Spire // Bugaboo Provincial Park
zhlédnutí 32KPřed rokem
We finally made it to the Bugaboos after just missing the 2021 season during van-life. We chose Pigeon Spire as our introduction to the area - a Bugaboo classic. We were treated with views of towering spires, vast glaciers, fun exposure and sticky granite. After hearing there were 17 parties lined up the day before, we were shocked to be one of two total parties, leading the way for the sunny d...

A nice (rainy) outing in the San Juans to get up a couple of 13ers - Vestal Peak via the Center Shift Route and Arrow Peak in the Grenadier range of Colorado. Summer 2022.
Climbing the CMC Route on Mt Moran
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed rokem
On the last leg of our 2021 van trip, Jordan and I attempt the CMC Route on Mt. Moran. After a few logistical problems (mostly not finding the right approach trail) we bail and head for Colorado. A year later, we check the climb off the list on Memorial Day! Enjoy a time hopping vlog. - KB
Climbing the Grand Sentinel l Banff National Park
zhlédnutí 3,6KPřed rokem
A bit of an unhinged summit of the Grand Sentinel in Banff National Park. After learning the Bugaboos are out of condition due to rock fall, we trade for...still some rockfall...and climb the cool and crumbly spire in Banff. I am now a full year behind at making these vlogs lol. Enjoy - KB
Exploring Alaska I Kenai Fjords, Wasilla, Seward, Hatcher Pass & Wrangle St. Elias National Park
zhlédnutí 540Před 2 lety
Jordan and I visit my aunt and uncle in Wasilla and explore Kenai Fjords National Park by foot and boat. We hang out in the small, seaside town of Seward and sample the climbing in Hatcher Pass (mostly just sampling the wild blueberries). We cook up lots of moose meat meals and stop by Wrangle St Elias on the long trek back to Canada.
Bike-packing Denali National Park, Alaska // Riding the Park Road
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 2 lety
Jordan and I drive 40 hours from Vancouver to Anchorage, Alaska. We had bike-packing Denali on our list after seeing the great video from Mediocre Amateurs. Jordan's sister flew out to meet us in Anchorage and we set off to see the grizzlies, caribou and wolves, and the awe-inspiring Denali landscape.

Jordan and I climb Mt. Shuksan in the North Cascades via the Sulphide Glacier. Upon returning to the van at the trailhead, we find mouse poop in our bed. Score. After hours of disinfecting and laundry, we start the arduous process of getting into Canada the first day it opens to Americans. KB
Climbing the East Ridge Direct of Forbidden Peak in the North Cascades
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 2 lety
One of my favorite climbs during the van trip. Forbidden Peak in the North Cascades via the East Ridge Direct and descending the West Ridge. One of the most beautiful high camps I've ever stayed at. Boston Basin was truly breathtaking. You can also see the start of our downfall from fiber here: uncontrolled blackberry picking and eating. KB

Well done to smash so many routes in one trip! Planning my next objective and it looks like there's tons of great options in the Bugs.
Thanks! You will not be dissapointed!
We just visited Banff and have a baby so not able to any hiking. This was thrilling to watch and the rock fall around made gasp!! 😮
Awesome!!!
where are you at at 8:40?
That is the Crow Pass Trail in the Chugach Mountains!
What time of year did you guys end up doing this in?!
We went the last week of July! We called some local mountain guiding companies to see what the condition of the col was like, to make sure it wasn’t too melted out!
Hope you guys didn’t go in March again haha! Need to head to the great white north around Canmore or Quebec if trying to ice climb in March
Canmore is on the list for next season - would love to check it out. We came back to Ouray end of February this year and got to climb the Charmin Tube … but it was still getting melty and thin. Happy ice climbing!
@@kristenbowling2147you’re gonna love Canmore. It’s like ouray but on steroids and longer approaches! Did you guys get all the way to p2/p3 of the tube? I thought p3 was the highlight being a bit more adventurous to get to and was a nice beautiful flow for 40m of 3+/4 climbing.
I was about 5 minutes from getting zapped on the summit of Vestal after Wham Ridge. We were on the scree on the south side when it hit the summit. We did Arrow in October so we had to modify the standard route a little bit to avoid some snow on the north face. We went down the south face which was supposed to be 5th class. Probably 4th as we did it no problem without rope. No snow on the south face in October. Nice video. I would have been scared with as many clouds there were when you were on Arrow.
Yeah, not our greatest moment with those clouds on Arrow 😅Jordan was also about 5 mins from getting zapped on Crestone Needle where his gear started to buzz and hair stood up… needless to say he did that decent quickly. Thanks for watching!
Looks amazing! A few questions: what resources did you look at while planning this? And also are there rappel rings at the top of the pitches there?
We used Mountain Project and referenced Steph Abegg’s blog posts. Only rappel rings starting at the South summit if I remember right.
I've started watching your guy's adventures and love the content. I'm always left wanting more footage and longer video's to capture the essence of the experience. Loved the amount of climbing footage. You guys are inspiring for a guy like myself who loves adventurous climbing and trips. Are you guys living in the front range? I'm in Golden if you ever need a partner to get weird with.
Hey thanks! We do live in the front range…always down for more cool people to adventure with!

Classic Jordan 🤦♀️
Man, I have been Jones'ing for some new "Good Stuff." You guys are killing it as usual! Cool video.
😂 Jordan always provides that, thanks Sean!!
Great video guys, looks so beautiful and a great watch 😊
Thanks William!!
Is that guitar guy following you??
Lolll definitely 😂
Fuckin siiiiiick

wah hebat sekali , sangat pemberani , salam sehat dari indonesia
What a nice, well executed climb and video. Thanks
Thank you!!
1:42 - Yehp, that's an exciting view. Know it well. Makes me nostalgic.
I am stokin hard for this climb and I’m planning to send next spring. Thanks for the video and congrats on the finish. How is the rock quality and how are the holds? I’m an experienced beginner, but it’s been a hot topic with more advanced friends. I’d love to hear all about it. Cheers from Squamish BC 👏🏼🔥🤗
Hi! My friend and I booked a trip there in March to climb Bugaboo Spire however I have done research and found nothing on any winter ascents of it. Do you know if it is even possible to access in that time of year? Please let me know if you have any other helpful information! Thank you and great video!
Such a fabulous setting…. Perhaps I missed it but did y’all skip doing Cardiac Arête (the sport multipitch) while at the Grand Sentinel?
You didn’t miss it! There were a couple people on Cardiac Arete, so we did not end up doing it - would love to go back though, it looked amazing!
@@kristenbowling2147 Sounds like a good reason to go back. Thx for the video, it brought back some great memories. Cheers!
Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Did you guys have to rope up for eastpost spire?
We didn’t! It was a quick 4th class scramble and mayyyybe one low fifth class move at the top.
1:10 "It's beautiful though, in Canada." Haha What..?!?! Like, the whole Country? You're in Spillimacheen, BC

We must have gotten the same driver. The guy chewed me out because I didn't help him chuck other people's packs into the mud when he was unloading our camper bus.
😂 oh man, sounds about right 🤦♀️

What a neat freaking climb man, thanks for sharing it.
What’s the favorite Joshua tree route so far?!
How does a channel start this strong?? The goose is loose!

Great video. Yeah those trails can be brutal

Got back from NH last weekend. Mostly decent conditions. I assume you raped down from Stairway? Nice Vid. THX
Great video! Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. New subscriber here. 👍🚵♂️👋
Thanks Jeffrey!!

Love the french free move

Incredible area, thx. A suggestion about the recording, tho: do way less swinging the camera around, and less rapid cutting from scene to scene. Sustained parts of the vid were basically unwatchable. Loved the few times when you sustained a shot. Beautiful!
This was thoroughly enjoyable to watch, I really want to go now!
Big fan of your adventures
Thank you!
I attempted the East ridge 15 years ago and got turned back due to daylight. We camped too low and the approach to the ridge was further than we thought. The gendarmes are tough wether you traverse below or climb direct. I have been there in Bostin a few times and climbed Sahale, Bostin and Forbidden from the west ridge. I also climbed El Dorado across the way to the north.
It's definitely a long day! The Basin is so beautiful and the gendarmes are definitely tough regardless of how you do them!
Great video of the Bug's, It was on my list to climb when I lived in Wa. I'm old now and never made the trip. I was always concerned about my car surviving the porcupines LOL. Great job!!!
Lol, I was definitely over-worried about my car...especially since we drove 20 hours from Denver. Thanks for watching!
nice video! feels like yesterday I was up there, your footage is amazing
Thanks so much!
Beautiful video!! 👏👏👏
Thank you!
You had great weather and no crowds? That is the opposite of what most people find in the Bugs. You lucked out HUGE!
We were shocked - definitely lucked out!!
Awesome video! Great job. Subbed.
Thank you!!
Loved this! I hike every once in a while, just out in Death Valley the other day. But what you all are doing here is intense...I'd be scared to death. Looked like fun, though!
I love Death Valley! Any day getting out - whether it's hiking or climbing is a great one in my book.
