The show is just inspired by the real queen. It's an alternative reality where some european royals are black... It was never supposed to be an accurate portray of history

The show is only somewhat inspired by history... obviosly it's not about the real queen charlotte. It's more of a thought experiment...what if regency era had poc in it.
@@XEveryoneLovesEmilyX I have no problem with POC playing a role. IF they have kept the story historical then I am fine with the person who had the best talent playing that role. I do not think color should be the definitive factor in deciding who wins the role. I am glad for the change. No on to the thought experiment on POC being in the regency era....one cannot change human history. I would actually love to see more movies made about Africa and the Africans who shaped that continent. I would love to see more movies about the huge contributions POC made in the USA. I actually just rewatched "Marshall" Thurgood Marshall overcame prejudice and racism to become the 1st African American Supreme Court Justice.
@@bettytrembly6538 A movie isn't going to change history. But regency romance is a fiction genre all in itself that a lot of people enjoy because all of the drama regency etiquette brings to the romance plot. So adding another layer to it by imagining poc in it is simply fun to watch. Of course there should be a lot more content teaching real poc history but it's not one or the other. Both can exist at the same time. I am fully aware of my history but at the same time I just want to watch a woman that looks like me wearing a silly dress and being a princess.
The fact that they used modern music in a show that is 1800s themed will forever be interesting and iconic for me.

I didn't really see much romance George didn't know how to love and Charlotte had no choice but to accept it.

I love how Americas new favorite sport is taking offense. 🙄 Its a great show (aka artist license) in every way. That races are blended as well as the way they use modern music and weave into what I think is one awesome experience.
