    The dial with the numbers should adjust the tension on the keys to make them firmer or easier to press down. You sound also be able to indent your first line by hitting the Self Starter key.

  • @ReekIan

    That is a M25 movement and is a workhorse and is a hand wind not an automatic. The reason you could not move the hands is when you removed the screw holding the set lever it uncoupled it to the stem and crown. Doing that makes it so your cant adjust the time because the set lever can't push the rocking bar into time setting position. On that type of watch you would have to pull the crystal then take the movement out from the crystal side. What is holding it in place even after you bent the tabs is the seconds hand. Even if you got the movement out from the back you would still have to pull the crystal to put the seconds hand back on. Keep messing with it and you will be getting it .

    WW2 USMC helmet covers really never looked fitted and keep in mind, the first patterns for WW2 had the slits, contrary to many "historians" who assume the non-slitted version was the first pattern.

    Is it really true that guys were harmed or killed in WW2 when shells would explode near them and they were strangled by their non-releasing chin straps?

    • @greggstuhlmacher7162
      @greggstuhlmacher7162 Před 2 lety

      It was mostly just a rumor I can’t find anything on that actually happening but the fear was enough to stop soldiers from using the chinstrap

    @Blighty Vintage Just finished putting the chinstraps on my M1 shell and found the same problem you had with one of the bales not going over fully. Use your pliers to move the loop the bale is connected to over nearly flush with the shell it will move the bale over to the exact spot it needs to be at for the bale to move over completely so the chinstrap mount will flip over against the helmet when you strap both strape to each other against the back of the helmet.

  • @michaelbenjmitchell1

    I have the 1942 Boyt that has the M1910 style single belt connector vs the the two straps that you have. and mine came with the meatcan pouch got it at a estate sale today.
