    Just don't use JS. It's literally not necessary and any website can be written to operate without it. It's also advised to just have JS disabled for security.

    Node.js and the browser use the same runtime in the Chrome browser. This gentleman is wrong. What he refers to, incorrectly, as a runtime is the APIs available. Node.js and the browser provide access to different APIs. The runtime deals with garbage collection and other housekeeping tasks that are required at runtime.

    • @pliniolsc
      @pliniolsc Pƙed 9 dny

      We use to call "runtime" the software that runs your code. Most modern languages dont compile to native code and runs alone with the OS. They have interpreters, garbage collectors and/or virtual machines between your code and the hardware/OS.

    I love Primeagen’s quirky personality and he is one of the top tech content creator but i guess teaching requires different skillsets. For me the first thing he needs to do is slow down (in actual videos) , use some diagrams, type slow and break down the concept for the beginner audience etc. However, if he is trying to hit already established engineers as his audience then he is going great job. PS - Just a constructive feedback, I still enjoy his content ❀

      Yeah, but it's CSR in this case, not SSR(server side rendering). That means Go is just providing the FE with APIs, not actually generating the static Html code and sending it back to the FE

    Yes, Javascript is fundamentally broken. Always has been, always will be. ECMAScript fixed nothing. The DOM is stupid the whole thing is stupid. Go look at Inside Mac volumes 1-3 to see how to do all of this correctly (but don't use Pascal).

    Many optimizations we try to add, like server side rendering, are fixing just bad code. Many web developers don't know the basics. First learn just HTML, CSS and native JS. Many new developers start with frameworks, and doesn't know the base. 20+ years ago, we have to learn the basics, and learn how to optimize for the browser and user. I also don't wanted to use e.g. jQuery, and later React, because it makes the web a lot time too fat. I love JS, but frameworks are nice, but makes the site fat, and you need more time to optimize.
