Simple Regressions in Stata (including regress, scalars, and scatter plots)
In this video, we will cover how to run a simple regression in Stata. I also show how to verify the calculation using the equations derived from the moment conditions. We learn to save values as scalars in doing these calculations. Finally, I show how to create a scatter plot with a regression line overlaid.

    The final answer for the 5th Rule is confusing. 2x square x 6x = 12 but why on the other side didn't you use the power rule but only multiplied 3x by 2?

    • @sebastianwaiecon
      @sebastianwaiecon Před 3 měsíci

      The command you probably need is "destring." Most likely what happened is that you have at least one value that is not a number, which is why Stata read it as a string. You first need to make sure all the values are valid numbers, then use destring to generate a numerical version of your variable.

    I like your videos on the managerial economics courses. However, I never learned or was exposed to calculus or the functions of derivatives and partial derivatives. I can follow the steps in your videos, but not grasping the wisdom found in each function. I felt it necessary to drop out of a managerial economics course because of this issue. I can get through most of the economic principles on markets and structures, but the math is a problem. Please advise what steps to take to master the math found in this course. I am a young 65 plus adult studying to get an MBA.

    • @sebastianwaiecon

      Bare minimum, 4 observations to make the math work, but otherwise no minimum. More observations will provide more statistical power. See my video on difference in differences estimation.
