I've been playing a lot of Heaven mode recently. Take the worst curses, ei. Tier 10+, and hope there's enough blessings to overcome.

Ya. Items and characters values definitely change when you venture into the other game modes.

Brutal run. The most terrifying of all final bosses: a wolf.

I think this mode could be tweaked to allow you to pick 2 or 3 characters, with the others being random according to the team comp you selected. For example, pick Cultist and Gardener, and then the yellow, orange, and gray are randomed if you went with a Basic team comp. I still shudder from that one time I got Prodigy, Lazy and Scoundrel in one of the first times I decided to run Loot mode, turned me away from the mode for a couple of weeks.

Wow you still playing this? I'm also stuck in one game. Gladiator Guild Manager. Found the mode which fits my playstyle, Hell+permadeath 0% refund, no arena skips. It's very hard and the best autobattler ever. Join me :) sorry for offtop.

Loot mode IS difficult and DOES take a bit of luck, but it's only made that much difficult because you have to adjust to each mode as opposed to approaching each the same way, if that makes sense. You're a brilliant player though, so keep having fun with the game.

17:51 the game does not reset party/curses unless you reroll it or lose at fight 3 and further, it is designed like that to prevent rerolling the perfect curses or party combination (for example beating brutal or hell difficulty, or even streaking it)

Great run. I think at this point it would be fun to see you just try custom mode, with your personally chosen combinations of blessing/curses we rarely see, in a way you find challenging.

Stuning a solo target without era or poision on your team is always the right choice as it just gives you a free turn.

Wonder why you didn't considered essence thief, for a 3 point blessing, it can easily repay itself in curse points, giving on average 4/5 extra mana to play with per fight, especially with a meddler start! Double the mana/bone 😅 still a great run though, almost your best, 3 to go

This mod is fun but its characters could really use to fit better into vanilla norms, like keeping cantrip damages to oranges, mana focuses on blues, no shield 3 to all on yellows, not giving anyonw multiple spells and keeping spells for reds and blues. Honestly though, my main concern is actually the lack of repetitions of sides and lack of X's. Characters with one powerful side should have at least one X to counterbalance them, and in general theirs sides should repeat (think sorcerer or agent, or almost all of the characters really). Seemed like the dev had a lot of fun with all the keywords but at the current point it just looks super messy and random.

unlucky rolls with inevitable with 1/3rd chance, you would expect it more... still a great run regardless, that kite shield bard turned the run around entirely. Normally, a poison curse on a force team, that would be a dangerous pick, with how hard it is to regenerate the hp, but with the else tactic, it was completely fixed

If you turn your ui scale to -1 you should be able to see the full menu, i think i had to do that when I played this Cool to see more textmod content on yt!

The custom run was really cool! I have also been having fun trying to win the loot mode. I am struggling to even beat hard, I wonder if you could clear it on hard or even unfair!

Interesting mod. Definitely has some of that homebrew funk. It seems to be that most of the heroes are either trying to do too much at once, or leaning way too hard into a specific gimmick. I think the mod dev maybe needs to learn that sometimes less is more.

I think the Occultist is a cameo from Darkest Dungeon? That's my initial reaction. The Craven character seems like it would be a little weak, but with cantrip dodge and double dodge, pristine will likely be active, and the chances that you need to use it to hit the thing tartgeting Craven are actually pretty low, imo, so it seems fine. The flavor of "halveDuel" for a coward is funny. Vigor seems completely busted. Why does it have the cleave, double self-heal sides, plus a heal side, with allGrowth, and an Undergrowth Pain side, plus a "normal" Growth damage? Its way way too many keywords, that honestly aren't even that synergistic, beyond the fact that growing a cleave side is insane, and he can heal his own pain. But his allGrowth heal also heals himself for x2 because it has Ego! If you had a way to give him max hp, like "add vitality to all Heal sides" or something, that character could probably solo the game. I like the idea, but it's way too much. The Full-Moon item was also very cool and felt sort of flavorful, and then getting the bow, that was definitely a giga-op character. Luster seems very cool, as far as the sides being balanced and the idea is fun, but I think the way it's implemented feels really boring. Ardent. Uh.. I'm very confused what this character is and why it exists. What's the flavor? I get that the "shield pain heal" sides become "heal" sides, on herself, and having rescue there is cool, but why is it "Ardent"? And I think overall, my main issue with the new characters is leaning way too hard into the "gimmick" or mechanic of the concept, and not making use of basic sides or generic keywords as much. For example, Vigor would benefit from the damage self-healing sides being basic Shield sides, and turn the big pain undergrowth side into a groupGrowth side, then make both damage sides just cleave 1. Then you have pain and healing, and then solid damage without going wild, plus some shielding, and support for other characters, so it's just a solid yellow with a nice theme, and isn't completely focused on itself.

The mod paste isn't working for me, getting an error for "illegal characters in clipboard: +". Anyone able to get it to work?

Hard with 'myriad' on offers you some 5s and 6s. I assume you either left it on from playing unfair, or the mod just always works like that.

Psionic: the cantrip rampage doesn't reactivate, but my brain is saying that it's not that different in use cases from a 2 damage doubleuse pain side rampage (which feels balanced to me), with a spell you can basically reset off both the top and bottom enemies getting low. Psionic looks like it's designed around setting up 'math' turns where you just aoe everyone and win in one turn if your other blue/red generate mana.

I think the turning point were your refusal to take barb, yes, it's risky to take him in general, but since he wasn't posessed by wendigo and losing pilgrim is really bad you should've settled for him

Im not 100% but i think if you kill the wolves first in alpha you'll take less dammage most of the time

An interesting curse + blessing combo that you had was "lowest exert + patient all heroes". Patient works even if you are exerted, so it would not lead to any lost damage/output, and could even lead to some tactics like exert on a turn to roll for a 2x two turns from now.

i mean, two single use blaze on artificer, it's a little bit better then just ok. You can go from a swarm killer, to a boss obliterator whenever you want, very good pick for him

does the cleave not work in keyword order? like if it was 'dog' then 'cleave', it would check the dog keyword, double it, and then cleave it, but if it's 'cleave' then 'dog' it will cleave and then check individually for dogs

You could've added D4 to Jumble and then it would be nullified and there would be another side with cantrip

About the Cleave target confusion: Unless I'm misremembering, I think it worked the way you originally thought in 2.0. So, if you hit an engage cleave side on a full hp enemy, the two neighbors would also take double damage, even if they are damaged.

Fantastic run. Lucker! In the Inevitable fight, you had Duplicate on the Jumble, which duplicates the Fluctuate keyword, which means you'd get to see a ton of new sides, one of which was ranged damage that could have been used on the Wiz. And if I had been playing this one, I would have put the Rusty Longsword on Twin as well, and then you'd have another item to dodge caltrops with. Although, the copycat sides were pretty useful, so I dunno if it would have actually been worth. Still! Lot of fun to watch. 👍

What a wild run! You were blessed all through the first half, then the game got serious at the end. For the Dog effect, I'm guessing that "target" is just anything affected by the die and cleave just adds extra targets. From a code perspective, it's a matter of where the effect is applied. Dog doubles the effect while applying it to the target, rather that boosting the die itself.

Welcome back! Yeah, updates for Slice & Dice are pretty infrequent. The dev usually vanishes into his cave and teases random weird new features that only a dev could appreciate/understand, then comes out a couple years later with a patch that triples the content.
