i got a Appalachian 3 car trailer and for truck i have a 2006 Silverado 3500 and 1995 Ford F350 7.3 Powerstroke. I currently use Ford for over a year as primary truck. I do between 1-2k miles a week and after watching lots of guys talking about car hauling i noticed that there can be 10 guys and there will be 10 different opinions how to do this work. I been doing this for 8 years and i think that no car hauler is the same.

Honestly I see a lot of dudes with single car haulers not running DOT numbers because DOT don’t really care. But they’ll have a DOT and proper insurance just not display the number and do scales and all that….

I have Maine plates on my equipment trailer and it cost me $87 for a 5 year tag and Maryland it cost $250 per year WHY IS MARYLAND STICKING IT TO PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO HAVE WORKED IN MARYLAND AND PAID MY STATE TAXES FOR THE PAST 36 years if other states can charge this reasonable price and other state’s like Maryland fuck us so hard??????

Progressive cut my rates nearly in half last year, and this year they are way higher. Next year will be a different ball game as my CDL is coming up on it's 2nd birthday so my agent will be able to shop around for much cheaper rates. If I were thinking about starting hotshot, I would take my insurance quotes and budget for 2.5 times that amount. No sense investing in a business where an outside factor will force you to throw in the towel like Tow Piglet did.
