MHW: IB [PC] - Tigrex Switch Axe Solo - 2'23"96 TA Rules
Run was long overdue. Pretty much a filler run since I am pretty occupied with college right now to actually invest time into grinding anything. Due to college taking up so much time I am honestly not sure when I am going to upload another run. I am trying to do AT Nami and maybe Savage, Glavenus and Acidic until Rise. However I set my personal goal on AT Nami pretty high so the worst case would be no upload until Rise at all. I am pretty sure that I also don't have time to do Rise Demo runs. There will be a fairly long pause from March until May and part of January, February and March as well where I am occupied and I am only really free in December. Just thought I let you guys know what's going on.
Run is pretty simple once you find the script which I actually already found months ago but since you can pack PP 3 now it is super simple. Before that you had to do a different combo once you run out of amped and time it properly on clagger recovery to keep him locked but fatty gear made locking him very consistent and very easy. Not sure how this would go with Fatty SA although I believe you would have to cripple your combo on the topple to hit the threshold because I am pretty sure that Fatty doesn't do enough damage compared to Safi to hit the next threshold plus you would have to find a new combo on claggers at which point if it doesn't involve ZSD it just loses to Safi due to the ZSD pushing more damage than properly timed combo.
Btw if you guys wonder why there is one lv4 Slot open that could max out AB, it is intended to be like that.

1st half is pretty sloppy, rest is ok, I lost purple unfortunately but I don‘t think it mattered all that much. The run can go close to sub 7 but it's a grind I am not willing to do right now. I might clean it up at some poin though, we'll see. Did not expect the fight to turn out this good compared to regular Velk. Slow Phase 1, decent phase 2, got bailed out hard by phase 3 until 2nd nova. A lot of dumb and small mistakes throughout the run but ZSD too stronk. Someone needs to teach me how to properly bait out Cone Breaths. Best start I had so far was 2:48 phase 2 into 5:50 phase 3 with 1 horn break so you can imagine that this time can still be pushed down by quite a bit. Tough matchup. Not sure if Safi is the better choice over Kjarr Fire. They seem to be pretty equivilent in terms of power overall. Despite the fight being better than regular Barioth I really dislike the breath attack that hold you in place, especially the circular one since the actual hitbox doesn't allign with the visual circle. Got a bit unlucky with with his throat heating up a little late but it is very rare for that to happen on top of getting a good AI as well. Could definetely go sub 3'20, maybe even brake into sub 3'10 but it becomes an AI grind at that point. Without Claw Clagger this would easily be my most favourite fight in the Game. Twitter: MH_Kekko

Much better run compared to my fire one. I got an instant dunk which helped a shit ton. The run would probably be much better if I was using ZSDs on the Ice Breath attack when he goes airborne but whatever. I love this fight even though I am not sure which version of Alatreon I like more but so far it is my most favorite Monster that got added in Iceborne. Twitter: MH_Kekko

    Imagine playing the weapon and not playing the mantles. When I think of SA users, I just think of mantles and headless chickens, once the mantles run out. This has convinced me to finally give the weapon a shot.

    Hopefully wilds focuses a lot more on SA base moveset over ZSD spam, because this was impressive to watch skill-wise and a damn shame it's slower than a playstyle that is 100x easier by comparison lol

      it's not really worth it on the switch axe, switch axe elementals only need one combo to be charged, power prolong and evade window will be better spent than focus
