Baltimore's "Video Hippos" play their spastic sugar down all over the Talking Head Club. The band only plays once every 5 years now, and the club is gone, but the music will always be rad. Not sure what year this is from, but Kevin O'Meara and Jim Triplett still are Video Hippos.

Thomas Dexter @ Sight Unseen 05/10/13
zhlédnutí 212Před 11 lety
Filmmaker and artist Thomas Dexter from Brooklyn, NYC, pushes the boundaries of film quite literally. By running three 16mm projectors onto a screen with light sensors that augmented the sound off the magnetic tracks of the film, a pulsating cacophony of noise and light was created. Dexter then tests the very limits of the film physically by writing on it, grinding it with a sander, and general...

This is a darn old video. Wow
I met my wife at this show.
I need to jam with these Darsombra people!
I was there! Fun to find this, good show, all bands!
Omg, I so needed a Thrushes fix....thank you
Found this 10 years ago, and been looking for it again glad I finally did 🔥
Imagine paying to see Avey and he plays for not even 30 minutes and doesn't touch a guitar.
I'm obsessed
I was there. My god. It's been 14 years.
Thank you.
well...are you crying?
Hey if any grand buffet super fan sees this in the future, do you know the name of the track that starts at 3:36? I own their whole discography and that song isn't in there. I know they had some singles and unreleased stuff so maybe it's one of those? I would really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction. I'm going through another GB phase right now I wanna hear a studio version if it exists. Love you, bye
She Gawt
and yes you're correct, She Gawt is not in their listed discography. I've only ever heard it as a bootleg track.
@@dragonmere studio version or live only?
@@dragonmere it's on the Height Album "Winterize The Game", on the track "Bad Weather". It's a guest verse on the rapper Height Keech's album. The song is missing from streaming services but exists on the physical release. It's a studio cut and it rules.
@@thatkaratekid3148 it's on Bandcamp. Thank you!! Never would have found this on my own
i would blow them just to keep the party going. these guys are fucking kings
no for real, these guys give me vibes like, we can watch your kids, teach them how to steal, do algebra, and make a pot luck dinner. and fucking bless them
Who's the fat guy with the puppy? Oh it's me nevermind
Thanks for uploading this Guy
So glad I got to see him during this tour, and even talked to him after the show about his gear. Good times! Also after his show in DC, a crackhead outside asked me for a cigarette and literally yelled "CRACK!" at the top of her lungs with such amazing sustain when I gave her one. It's almost like she was beckoning her fellow crackheads to come grab a cigarette. Oh, DC.
Rip to drummer Kevin O’meara
I was there an I would love to do it again.
Gothic Country Music?
“Why’m i crying? Shouldn’t I be content with what i’ve got? And i seek dimes, or am I denying... myself that something that i’d enjoy if i’d acquire “
And if I had some kind of need, but if the thing I need is the thing I've got, then I could look inside of me and find the thing that can't be took or bought
wow. great opener
🤘🏼
oh snap, well this is cool.
I miss seeing them tour every year. I'm surprised they never blew up. First saw them open for Wesley Willis in Orlando back in 2002.
There are 5 people out there who have absolutely NO HEART. I can't believe he got through "Laughing Hieroglyphic" without crying. What a beautiful and brave performance!
I was forced to watch this

Wow, what a thrill it would be to have them play and sing at an opening of mine. Lovely of them to do this.
First time I've seen this beautiful x.
i love victoria wearing the bloom cover
Man, this is good
I might have to kill myself by the end of this! I may be dead but I'll be free!
That fuck was so worried about getting his Sparks back. He was just asking if it's real, he wasn't extending for it. Then the guy hands it to him; But can't stop beconing to give it back the second it left his palm. Then the other bitch wants the cup back? I wish he had pretended to not see the guy, taken a quick swig while walking to the other end of the stage and handed it out to the audience to pass around. Then act all: "oh shit! he wanted it back. Sorry man. Hey guys if there's still Sparks will u pass it back to this guy"People woulda loved it,been more engaged, AND he wouldn't look like a dick. Cause I'm sure he wouldn't wanna kill the vibe or lose face with fans by being agressive/mean. Christ I'd be honored if he was drinking my drink on stage during a show. Shit I'd give it to him even if I hadn't cracked it yet. Hada have been some cunt there just for girltalk
saw the show the night b4 on the same tour in philly @ some warehouse in south philly & they ended up coming back to philly that tour like a month or 2 later. i showed up late to that 1 & ended up listening/hanging out w/ other fans on the steps outside the first unitarian church. YO, parking lot gig in b-more, rad. i feel sorry 4 the people who missed out on their guerilla show/floor days b4 they hit the stage in 07/08? either way, always a good time!
Avey is a creative genius. perfect performance.
yea song for jerome and death raga make this set trasendent
I thought this was the band Wild Nothing lol
Saw this guy with Animal Collective and had to leave during his set. Worst set I've ever seen - it was literally PAINFUL
I saw him at the Observatory. Was that where you saw him?
GameP0N3 Calgary at the Macewan Ballroom - was your set any better than mine?? (I swear my ears are still crying)
It was more easy on the ears for me. It was my first time hearing the dude, I was going nuts. It was like he was AnCo. Only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't understand a single thing he was saying!
GameP0N3 Well, I'm glad to hear that! Honestly, I like the guy's studio stuff - just couldn't stand the live show. Glad to hear it was better for ya!
@@mr._otis9840 what he's saying isn't important lol , it's more just like him being a manic dj / hypeman
I cry every time i hear laughing hieroglyphic. So beautiful. His vocals are incredible.
