Not here to spark a debate. When i was new, i watched this and didnt see the preload box for the second demonstration. So when out in the field i cleared 1 ml saline and drew up 1 ml 1:1000 and thought that was the correct way. Got chewed out. Would maybe add a visual for the second deomstration.

The thing is, the notion that c. auris only effects sick people or hospital bound people is not necessarily true. We almost never test folks for this disease. So how do we know that the infection is not present in healthy people if we are not testing them? And it takes a special test to isolate c. auris, the standard fungal test that doctors regularly use does not reveal c. auris. It's possible that some apparently "not" sick folks already have c. auris "colonies" , maybe for many years, then when they get sick with COVID or something else serious, those colonies develop a more serious infection.
