Riding Forest Roads in Minnesota on the Ibex 800T - North East Minnesota Adventure Trail (NEMAT)
I take my ADV Motorcycle on a 590 mile round trip Adventure from the Twin Cities up to Duluth MN. From Duluth we followed lake Superior up to Silver Bay. North of Silver Bay is Finland MN and we start riding the forest roads and exploring beautiful scenic Northern Minnesota. Did some moto camping along the way!

Disconnect Battery before installing switch!!! In this video we install an ABS bypass switch. This CFMOTO Ibex 800T does not come with a way to disable ABS and this after market switch allows you to do so.

Test video of the DJI ACTION 4 camera with the 16ND filter. I also test the DJI MIC inside the helmet for a Motovlog setup! My Ibex 800t has the Leo Vince slip on exhaust with the baffle removed. Enjoyed watching the video. I live in Cook County and enjoy watching Lake Superior and the sun do battle with the fog. At times it will look like cotton candy rolling on the highway. 70/30 tiers are fine for the forest service roads but two tracks much more aggressive treads.

Recently put the Dunlop Trailmax Raid's on!
Good news...i took it apart and hooked it up to the front abs sensor plug and i havent had the engine light come back on..
i was asking questions cuz i made my own switch, and i hooked it up where you were showing you did it, i did not know that they wanted it hooked up to the front abs sensor, tomorrow ill take the whole thing apart again and see if hooking it up to the front makes the engine light go away. im assuming it will since they make no mention of the engine light and they would have used the rear connector too i assume they tried and figured out the front one has to be used to avoid the engine light.. or maybe the engine light is just part of the deal..
does this cause the engine light to come on.
This actually just started happening for me. I'm going to try and disconnect the battery and then reconnect and see if that wipes the code. The installation instructions for this switch tells you to install on the front sensor so I'm wondering if that would make a difference... It does work in disabling the ABS though!
@JasonRidesmoto if you try it on the front and the engine light doesnt come please let us know...so the directions actually say to connect it in line with the front abs ..i want to get one but mot if the engine light comes on

Just brought mine home 2 days ago. At stock, the exhaust note from the rear is deecent, however the engine sound at lower speeds from the cockpit, not so much. It has the whistle that my Triumph Street Triple R had over the rattle-ly sewing machine sound of a KLR 650. I live at 8500' above sea level so most everything I've ever owned that burns gas gets the full intake/exhaust flow modded for higher flow. Hopefully that takes care of some of this.

GPS is the Garmin ZUMO XT2 and I found the mount on Ebay. Wire the GPS into the power port up front! Thanks for watching.

When using the ABS killswitch have you had any issues with the quickshifter? It's not 100% of the time, but occasionally the quickshifter will stop working when I disable the ABS and it won't start working again until after a few key cycles.
How do you find the mirrors?? Are they less vibey than the oem ?
CFMoto 800MT good choice I was looking at this bike also but in the end i bought a Kawi Z900RS (i guess i was living in the passed to much) now regretting not buying the CFMoto 800MT

Thanks! Just recently installed these Dunlop Trailmax Raids. When I first got the Ibex it was a little jerky and had a tendency to lurch forward when downshifting at certain RPMs… that seems to have all smoothed out. It has an occasional hiccup at like 4K sometimes but not all the time. My current issue is the quickshfter doesn’t want to shift past 4th gear. I’m sure that will sort itself out someday too 😅
Have you tried to recalibrate the ECU input with the throttle yet?

I just bought one two days ago and I love the thing the power is there the only thing I struggle with it’s that it has such tall gearing definitely more touring than off road style gearing but that can be changed good video man love the bike

Pretty sure the Transalp was launched after these hit the market with such a low price. Now the competition is stacking up for sure!
Transalp is not tubeless tires , no cruise control or centre stand , CF is just much better spec , iv test ride the Transalp 750 as i already had a transalp 650 and liked it , but CF moto is more power and better handling more comfortable, , think Honda kinda missed the mark by not fitting tubeless tires , lots of other things it’s missing are easy to add on later but new wheels is a big expenses.

The Klim Krios Pro is a $800 helmet after taxes. You would expect perfection in all aspects and it's almost there BUT the visor will NOT stay where you place it. Open it up a few notches for extra air, first little dip or bump in the road and SLAM down it comes! I love everything about this helmet except the hinge plates. They are very cheaply made. It makes me wonder if anyone that actually rides tests them?? It is a $800 helmet WT Actual F?!
how does the ibex feel for long distance touring if you've done it ?
Nice ride. I've been looking at both these bikes since I'd like to be able to haul more gear than i can on my dual sport. Just waiting for the best deals since I can a few 2023 leftovers.

Have you owned one or ridden one? Are you aware that CFMOTO makes bikes for KTM, Yamaha and Motorini? They’ve been making KTM motors for many years. I chose to have an open mind and see how long this bike will last and change the mindset a bit. I have so far not experienced anything that translates to “junk” just because it was from a certain company or country.

New subscriber here! Great mods! Jason, what's your opinion on me going from a 2017 Suzuki VStrom 650ABS (great bike so far) to this IBEX 800T? I fell in love with this bike and I'm really considering the change. I am aware of CFMoto's history and the KTM DNA on this bike, but do you have a review of your pros and cons of this bike? Thanks!!!!
I do plan to make a video on the pros and cons... So far the bike is super comfortable for highway use, plenty of power, it does okay mild off road. I'd say it'll have way more features than your Vstrom but less sorted out maybe less refined. What is your Vstrom lacking that you are wishing to fill with the Ibex?
