Alright, I'm happy to be first here, lol. I didn't know Patrick until I saw the commercial. Very nice job he did. I haven't watched the whole video yet, but I will. Yes, I see that BM changed their politics about testing new products. They did the same thing with the new Ursa; they gave it to another famous filmmaker and he did a commercial of a woman dancing flamenco, very well done as well. Ok, no more youtubers for now testing the cameras, LOL. Thanks for your video, brother
Why didn’t you tell us the actual price?
That’s a great question, well they reduced 30% wich mean for the Komodo x is £5992 and the OG Komodo is £4225 both exclusive Vat . Hope that answer your question.

As long as it has Fillmaker at the end thats what matters. Don’t you think?
can you use the RED V-Raptor 8K VV as a computer webcam?
That would be the best west webcam on planet earth . What would you want to use it as a webcam?
In case you wanted actual facts: 🙂 1. Locking RF Mount 2. Direct V-Mount mountability 3. Higher frame rates 4. Better placed and more i/o ports 5. Cheaper and faster and more obtainable CF-Express B media 6. Compatibility with DSMC3 Monitor 7. Usable Auto Focus 8. Better remote handling through RED iPhone App (no lag) 9. Faster Black Shading 10. No latency on the monitor

I hope they will launch a detacheable EVF that you plug into the hotshoe when needed (you could detach it fast in 2 separate jacket pockets). Now that would be the perfect travel camera in full frame.
Now thinking about it, it’s would be a great idea , but I think most people just want to point out and shoot with this camera or make fast turnaround videos that’s why they didn’t include anything like that . Are you an S9 user by any chance?

What’s the input for audio on the camera
The camera as all the XLR you can’t think of.
None of info has any mentioned of XLR. Even the manual doesn’t mention what type of input for audio…
@tomj9931 a few that I’ve seen has an XLR input, but remember there are so many different accessories for the camera . That has all sort of input. I don’t think people using this camera would record audio plugging in a microphone. But scratch audio is mostly what is needed. As a dedicated sound person would be in charge of recording audio.
Great review, bro. I see you're using some of MotionVFX plugins! They give an amazing touch to the videos, don't they!? Keep rocking! Good job!
Hi, Great video...to continue our talk after having use GH7,S5iiX and P6K FF any preference do you have actually which Image do you like more? vlog Braw with S5iiX, GH7 clog3, Blackmagic FF ? Which camera you like to work with? Wich one would you keep? Having the S5iiX wanted to complement it with P6K FF
Hey great seeing your comments, and thanks for checking out the video. Here is what I would consider. Based on what I shoot most of the time and what my future self plan on doing with the cameras. For project that requires fast turnaround, such as events , or any live event or anything that has people moving fast where you don’t have time to manually focus, I would recommend between The S5iix and The GH7 . Because you can still get great quality videos as well as using Focus and IBis . I’m sure you have see that I’ve shot two short feature films with the S5iix and G9 due to not having a big budget, and dealing with subjects that was moving fast and that Ibis was very helpful. For project that need small crew and you have time to light and want the best film like images , such as interviews, documentaries, short film or any scripted content the Blackmagic FF us my choice but I also use Lumix as B came because you can shoot B raw with them while still having access to great autofocus . Which one would I keep ? Well I’m waiting for my Pyxis to be delivered, also have the S5iix and thinking about getting the GH7 for quick turnaround contents for my clients. Again this is what i would do and want to do . My question is , when you check your last 6 projects, how much didn’t you need Autofocus, or ibis ? What did matter more in those projects and how fast did the clients want their deliverables? Then this will determine the camera to keep . Hope I’m making sense.
Good review Shot A is the ARRI log C3

2 years later and I think the new killer app use for Davinci's upscale might be speeding up render times for AI generated video clips created at lower resolutions. I mean if you have a workflow that churns out 1440 PNGs for each minute of video in Stable Diffusion at 270x480 or 480x270 relatively quickly ie in an hour or less on an RTX 4090 and then you upscale that 1 minute of footage with Resolve to 1080p in even half the time it would take to upscale it with Stable Diffusion you just got a big win, but I suspect 4xing really low resolution video made with AI to 1080p in Resolve will be much, much faster than that and that means directing films from your desktop becomes much more feasible with a combination of Blender for quick and dirty geometric design of sets and rigging and mocap of character performances, coupled with creating good looking textures with Stable Diffusion. Upscaling and editing in Resolve Studio is another tool to speed up the workflow.
You have a great point, technically is changing and it’s scary how fast things are moving. Need to try and play with blender and see how hard it easy it is .
@@Kashilembo the mickmumpitz channel here on CZcams demonstrated a few times a work flow that used a relatively simple geometry in Blender combined with a few quick render types like a depth map, a line drawing, and some other thing I can't recall to use as controlnets in Stable Diffusion via Comfyui to render animations that were amazingly varied and in different styles much faster than he could have textured and rendered in Blender. He was using the AnimateDiff control as well to maintain consistency. The biggest bottleneck I had seen would have been upscaling the low resolution outputs of Stable Diffusion in stable diffusion, but I think the workflow I would use now would be to run a GPU in the cloud like an RTX 4090 to render the original PNGs from SD based on the Blender geometries especially since there are so many easy character design and even human design and rigging models you can incorporate into Blender easily these days. That coupled with AI voices and how good some of the realistic models are in Stable Diffusion at making people that cross the uncanny valley pretty safely and I think it would be possible today to do what was a multimillion dollar movie years ago by shooting all the motion capture on your smartphone using free software to convert regular video to the rigging data, and create basic characters in Blender, make them look great with AI, then conver the low resolution PNG sequences to non standard ie super low reolutiin video in Shortcut, put that low resolution video into a 1080p timeline on Resolve use Superscale to bring it to 1080p, export it as a high quality intermediate file type, upscale it again to 4k and finally use Resolve to make tge AI image more cinematic with lens blur effects amd grain and all of the usual bells and whistles of a good colorist and have a studio level production created entirely by a one man band on a desktop in their bedroom.
Is there a way to use an extender to attach the evf on the rig or is that the only option to connect it?
Hi there ? Yes you can the Tilta EFV extension it the best option out there .

@fufu1405 no problem at all . You can definitely pick whatever see one for a very good price .
Nice video! I shot with Canon FD lenses both personally and professionally when they were new, back in the '70s. I have my lenses from then. I also look out for other FD lenses at antique stores and thrift shops. I've picked some up for a little as $10.00. I'm including a short clip of a test of Da Vinci Resolve. I shot it with a Fuji X-S20 filming F-Log2. It was shot handheld with a Canon FD 24mm if 2.8 I bought new in 1972. I also used a Canon FL 58mm f1.2. I used f4.0 with both. The 58 FL is soft wide open, but really cleans up at f2.8 and beyond. I've put a focus gear ring on these lenses. Your footage looks really nice! It really shows the nice rendition you can get with these lenses. czcams.com/video/CKg2e4hWwh4/video.html
Thanks for checking the video out , also good to know you have been using FDs for a long time . Definitely going to check your video out and leave a comment. You also know the best places to find them . Never used FL version but how is comparing to the NFD ? I feel like it’s more soft and creamy.
@@Kashilembo it's definitely softer. The coatings aren't as advanced so it has that bloom almost like old uncoated lenses.
That's an amazing bargain and could make it easy to build a simple focus rig.
It’s a bargain indeed, not sure about focus rig as the small delay might make it hard for accuracy, but ok trying it out as focus ring then might update you with another video.
@@Kashilembo I'm using a much larger system from Accsoon with decent delay, but all I ever use it for is focusing on myself using a Tilta Nano, because I have nobody behind the camera and I never move from that spot. This is smaller, cheaper and would've been all I needed. There are a lot of one person creators that this would be absolutely perfect for.

Currently the Pyxis 6 full frame is what I’m waiting to be delivered, then I will sell my Red helium 8k cuz I want to take advantage of that 6K full frame . But you can pick any camera brand that works for the type of content your client want . My question is what do you about the most ?
@@Kashilembo Nice! Mostly fashion branding/commercial videos! Im not sure whats the right upgrade right now! Maybe investing in some good lenses or a new camera! Thank you for any advice
@gior12_ I have some questions, are you updating because your current camera isn’t good enough with your client demand, or just because you have money itching to be spent ? How much would the new camera improve your videos? Do you need to improve your camera or your visual storytelling skills? Then this question will help us find the best solution for you .
@@Kashilembo Yea good question! I think I need this to improve my quality, to get higher clients
@gior12_ hmm well well well . Do your clients ask for better resolution and or better video that helps their services or product sell or be noticed by customers? Honestly a new camera don’t bring in much work as people that. But a new approach to how you capture tends to bring in more clients. But you can get anything from Pyxis 6K , Komodo or lumix S5iix . But each camera has it advantage and disadvantages. Just pick wisely
I dont like this camera because its not cinematic looking like BMPCC OG and dont have posabilty to change battery and its bulky not good for traveling. For my open gate is more important than bit debth and resolution. And crop factor its odd 1.7 so its not true S35 more closer to M4/3 sensor. But I was owned this camera six years ago after two moths I sellit away. Color sience is trongest thing that I like most of Black Magic Cameras its like baby Arri.
Hey friend remember this camera is very old . And technology has changed a lot . But it’s still looking very sold and organic in my opinion. I don’t know how you define Vimeo but every camera given good light and amazing production quality can look cinematic. There are way more options to choose from . How do would the Blackmagic Pyxis 6K work for you since you like Open gate ?
@@Kashilembo I was owned BMPCC and Production 4k so have some experience have image looks straight out of camera and color graidet footage from BMCC 2.5k all these cameras has own flavor. 6k is too expensive to me. But now I have to down shit in my video gear because economic crisis. Ok try explains my position if I was shooting film 70-90s style look I was choosing BMPCC if I was need to shoot commercial I was definitely on Production 4k camera side because it's have already DNA to commercial looking imagine for modern film production if no high frame rate need of course Production 4k will my choice.

I can shoot my S5iiX up to ISO 12800 without worrying about noise, but with Blackmagic, anything above 3200 gets too noisy. In fact, noise is a little less better in 6k Pro than in the full-frame. So I am skeptical about them being the same sensor unless Blackmagic or Panasonic confirms it.
That's an interesting arsenal of lenses, man! Good talk, buddy. When is that Pyxis arriving?!? lol
Brother I’m planning to doing a in-depth video about the lenses but the Pyxis isn’t shipping as promised, my preorder is pending and no update. I don’t know when BM will release the camera.

Ok video but I can't really see the fonts or the icons on the phone overlay
Hey friend, what app are you referring to ? I want to make sure I understand what you mean.
How do you fix rolling shutter?
Mind asking what exactly are you shooting and how fast is it moving?
@@Kashilembo sports. Basketball and rugby.
@Kryzvlogs I used resolve , check camera Gyro when you stabilise footage . But first make sure you get the correct shutter speed, as that helps as well .
@Kashilembo ok thank you. I will give it a try.
