Great video! Thank you for sharing how you plan and prepare for the coming homeschool year! ❤
Thanks for watching!
Im so nervous for this year. I will have a 12th grader, 8th grader and a 1st grader. This is our 7th year of homeschool. But i am having a baby in 3 weeks. So im thinkng about startinf mid September instead of August.
Congrats on adding to your family! We like to do slow entries into the year. So well start with LA and math then add in another subject a week later and then another a week later etc. It's a nice way to slowly get back to routines.
I have a hard time finding french resources, however Memoria Press has been working great for my kids and they enjoy it.
This was so incredibly helpful. Amazing work Mama and well spoken clear and easy to follow along. My daughter is debating on Advanced Biology or Marine Biology by apologia, this helped us make an education decision!! ❤
I am so glad it was helpful!
I got my maintenance box from the Epson website for $9.99 free shipping. I bought one so I can change it when it requests to be changed. At least it has one because when it doesn't have a maintenance box you have to mail it for epson to repair when the internal non replaecable ink sponge fills out.
Yes, I think they realized that they need to manufacture ones for sale now.
What type of green house is this one? Did you get this one from Amazon.
It is the Outsunny 26'L x 10'W x 6.8 greenhouse from aosom.ca
Fellow TGTB Homeschooling Mama here! I got to this video from your Epson EcoTank review you posted a year ago. It sounded like the EcoTank is your go to printer regardless of that issue. My big question is what happens if moisture gets on your prints? Does the ink run or smear? I've alway bought the course books but one of my kiddos has requested I print theirs this next year for multiple sensory reasons. I currently have a laser printer but the coloring struggles has me looking at the EcoTank since it's the most consistent one recommended by homeschoolers. However, said kiddo also considers all of their printed items to be Gollum level PRECIOUS and so I wonder if a sweaty/freshly washed palm coming to write on the page, a drop of water from a water bottle pressure release spray, or heaven forbid the baby dribble on it would ruin the printing? 😅 I'm picturing a water color style mess and the potential end of their world, but maybe you can provide some experienced insight for me? 😇 Also, since you're familiar printing the curriculum you might be able to answer this other question. We have found that when we print pages from the Simply Good and Beautiful Math 2 course that have blue boxes, or like the blueprint assignment page, having to erase directly on the color not only erases the pencil lead but it also takes off the color. Have you experienced that being or not being the case with EcoTank prints? Thanks 🙏❤
The only time I I’ve had the ink spread is when water is spilled on it. Other than that, the every day use hasn’t affected it at all. I do suggest giving it a few seconds to dry before touching it when printing for good measure but I print multiple pages and they don’t smear as they pile up. You may want to use a heavier weight paper as well for heavily coloured pages. I don’t believe the ink can be erased off but I’ve never come up against that.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. You and your family are very hard workers. Thank you so much for sharing! 😊
Thank you so much!
Having your kids help in this way must be so beneficial to them!!!! Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your day! 🙂 I can’t wait to try that French bread!
I keep telling them that! 🤣
It would have been awesome if they made the maintenance cartridge a tank AS WELL that you simply empty once full. But then Epson has to make money, right?
Right!
brilliant review thanks
Thanks for stopping by!
Would you think it would be too much to do this and Guest Hollow anatomy at the same time?
No, I don’t think so.
Great review!
Thanks for watching!
Interesting to hear your thoughts on it! This was one I did look into for my oldest for this upcoming school year, but we decided on another one.
What did you decide to go with instead?
@@OneMamaToAnother The Mystery of History. She'll be studying ancient history (so volume 1).
Thank you for this thorough review! I’ve just purchased this for the new year and it’s helping me wrap my head around the curriculum. It’s different for us so we’re still in the planning stages but this was so timely
I'm so glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing! Thinking of this one for future years...

Do you know if this general science course could be used at the highschool level? Im trying to determine if my daughter who is going into 9th grade could use this as one of her lab work required science courses. Are the labs enough to count for highschool transcript credit? Otherwise I was just going to go with their Physical science course instead.
Where I am grade 8 is part of high school so it would. However, high school requirements vary so much that it's probably best to reach out to Apologia directly.
Thank you, Christina. Your reviews are always so helpful.
Thanks!
I had one that lasted about 6-7 years with snow, rain, and so on. I ended up taking the parts that were still good to make a kiwi trellis 🙂 I've never heard of that brand though. I'll consider it if kids want to have one again in the future 🙂
It’s really great! It forgot to mention because it doesn’t have springs it’s silent too!

I have to say that this is a review, most people review items they just bought. Never talk about all the problems that could happen. Thank you lady.
Thanks for watching!
This was so helpful! Thank you!
I'm so glad it was!
I read The Time traveler's wife years ago. My oldest sister is obsessed with time travel and suggested it. I didn't love it quite as much but I did like it. Right now I'm listening to a book called sachiko caren stelson. Is the biography of a little girl who lived through the bombing of nagasaki.
That book sounds right up my ally. Thanks for sharing!
I was really surprised by The Phantom Tollbooth - we ended up liking it, but it was NOTHING that I thought it was. LOL.
Really? That’s one I haven’t read yet.
Thank you for the video. I love hearing book reviews! I've had The Trumpet of the Swan on my shelf for years, but have never read it! The author of it also wrote Stuart Little, which I remember best from the charming movie. My grown daughter used to watch Heidi on VHS (the version with Shirley Temple, which is so sweet!). I have the book as well...perhaps I will read it this summer. My son is 16, so he may not be as interested (although we did read Pollyanna this year together, and we both enjoyed it).
Pollyanna is another book I have heard lots about but never read. I need to get on that!
So Epson Ecotanks are still a scam just like the rest of them. Right when the part designed to be used up is used up (the sponge), they don't make it anymore... after only 3 years!!! And you need a key to unlock it again as well?! What the?!!! 😒🤌 At this point I'll only consider getting a printer if they gift me one and I'll gladly buy the ink off of them, as long as they send me a new one when my current one fails. Which they won't, to none of it! 🥴
Thank you for the details. This really helps.
Great!
It’s only three days per week because it’s only supposed to be a half-credit course. I don’t remember where I read that, but I distinctly remember reading that when I was reviewing it last year before purchasing.
The APologia website says it is one credit if done with the student journal.
@@OneMamaToAnother Ahhh…maybe I misread or they updated something. I was going to add to my initial comment (but obviously didn’t) that it certainly seems like a credits worth of work. Thanks for the info!
Thank you for this! I was just looking at this for my son for the 2025-2026 school year.
You're welcome!
Book description says a detailed answer key comes as a free pdf. I’ll be trying out this workbook since my child has no interest in online/video learning.
That’s great to know!
If she’s still struggling, Automatic Spelling from Hannah McAdams on TPT is working really well for my dyslexic son. I know some parents use it with Touch type read spell. That might work well for your daughter since it does spelling and typing.
Another great video and resource help! I'm so glad I watched because my child is a struggling speller. She's going into grade 6. I was getting overwhelmed and didn't know where to start looking. Thank you!
I'm so glad this was helpful! Spelling can be tough for kids.
Love this video! Such a nice plan for summer. We take summer's off because it's short like yours, and there's just so much to pack into it. We garden and have a lot of family plans and events going on, so it's just easier that way. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you choose for your kids for the next school year! Blessings! ❤
Your summer sounds like a lot of fun!
Y’all are gonna have an amazing summer!❤
Thank you!
Finding a writing curriculum for my son has been a struggle the entire six years we have been homeschooling. We’ve tried BJU, IEW Structure and Style, and Write Shop over the years, in addition to various other odds and ends writing workbooks. Nothing has been a great fit. However, we did like Write Shop better than IEW, even though I did take out some of the pre-writing assignments. Next year we are going to give Essentials in Writing a try. 😅
Yes! It is such a challenge to find a good program. EIW didn't work for us but I want to try Sharon Watson next.
Have you looked into Write by number? It’d going really well with my son who hates writing. It starts off easy with a power sentence and each stage you add 1-2 sentences. IEW, EIW, and writeshop didn’t work well for us either. It’s something that can be done independently as well.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! ❤️
Thank you for sharing. We’ll be using level 5 next year.
One of my children are doing that level now, about halfway through. Going well so far.
That's great to hear!
Thank you for review! Have you tried Writing with Sharon Watson curricula? She has one for middle school and high school.
I have her curriculum on my list to try!
@@OneMamaToAnother Looking forward to review that you'd post later. Thank you for your videos. One more question Christine: what was duration of WriteShop lesson, on average? (they look so intimidating)
@@DeepInsightsDoc my son did them independently so I can’t really say. He did divide each lesson up over 4 to 5 days though.
@@OneMamaToAnother Thank you.
How is the playset holding up now that it’s been up 5 years? I’m strongly considering a lifetime playset for my daughter but worried about rust. Thanks so much for your reviews!
I actually moved and no longer have it!
Thanks for this review! This was one that I had on my mind for my oldest for next year (her 9th grade year). Have you found others that you are interested in for high school?
Yes, I’m going to try Sharon Watson next.
There's an inofficial method to get over this bs problem.
Yup, I mentioned the options in the video.
Loved hearing your review and tips! So helpful!
Thank you!
Finding a good writing program is the bane of my existence! We tried Essentials in Writing this past year for my two older boys (10th and 8th grade). I'd say it was mostly good. Still, though, at the end of the year I feel like they need reminders for basic things like periods and capitalization! I wonder if it's just a boy thing.
I don’t know, I guess I will find out when it comes to my daughter using a writing program!
Hello my dear teacher, please give me this book in online .
Hi, you will need to contact the company.
Thanks for the review. Can you go explain what the levels look like in terms of representing the grades? For example, what would the level be for grade 10? Maybe I missed it? Thanks
They use levels instead of grades for thier curriculum. They have a placement test but suggest that if the child is 14+ they begin at HS 1. We use HS 3 as grade 11 LA.
Do you typically do this with your son, or just leave him to do it on his own? I have a hard time juggling all my children. I'd like to sit with individual child, but am unable to because of high demand.
For this course, my son completed it on his own.
😮 ❤ would you share the template or 😅 how do you do it 😊
Good timing! The printables will be out in my Etsy store later this week 😀
How can I find your Etsy name?

Thanks for the review for HS year 3. My daughter is working through HS year 1 of LA TGTB this year and will continue working through it next year as well. Could you give examples of the some of the things you had to ask clarification for? I agree with you that TGTB LA does teach a lot more in depth about grammar than most schools do and certainly more than I ever did in school. What will you do for LA for your 12th grader next year? Will you create your own program allowing him to pick books he would like to read along with more writing assignments?
Dangling modifiers in unit 5 is an example that I needed help marking on the unit test. I am planning for my son to use a literature curriculum and a writing one for grade 12. I will share all the details once I have it sorted out.
What age would these be aimed at please?
That's hard to say because it is for anyone old enough to understand the content.
