This video makes me say “yep, I’ll buy this camera…”
Wow, I never knew the buttons were illuminated! That’s low key a great feature for me. Does the Nikon Z 6 III have that as well? Thanks for sharing.
I am fully into the Nikon system but I am looking for an used 5D now and then.
Used 5Ds are everywhere. Just have to find a good price!
@@RunNGunPhoto And a copy with no crazy high shutter count like 150K. But I realize that I don't have a single Canon mount lens so starting a complete new camera system? And then I have to hide it from my wife because I am on the brink of a divorce already. I think I will pass😁
@user-qe7gw4yv7y hahaha be careful!
The colors from the samples you shared are so nice! Are those native picture profiles? ( the photos, I mean). Sure, must be hard to send back such a cool camera. Great review!
Thank you so much for watching! All of the photos have a little processing done in Lightroom to get the final result.
I shot with the Z5 and Z6 for almost all of my work, and i finally got the Z8 last year and was amazed at how much Nikon had improved in every category. The Z8 is the best feeling mirrorless body IMO and i shoot with 4 different brands.
I agree! I’ve shot Nikon, Canon, Panasonic and Sony. The z8 is my fav! 🤘🏻
What do you recommend for someone dipping their toes into video with the Z8 in terms of stabilization? I was thinking leaning towards a small rig with grips, but also looking at DJI Ronin gimbals. 🤔
Two very different solutions you have there. Look into the DJI Ronin RS2: amzn.to/3y0iI4O Don't get the mini, I dont think it will support the Z8. My Ronin SC struggled a bit to balance the Z8 & a bigger lens.
@@RunNGunPhoto Thanks for the recommendation!

Nikon looks great ❤ z8 with ew uppgrade update from nikon soon ….( focus ) will be the new D850 again 🎉

The Nikon Z8 is a beasttt!!! I already miss it.
You're preaching to the choir here, I LUV the nifty-fifty lens for it's perspective and FAST sharpness! It was my first Nikon lens and then I upgraded to a 24-70mm and I'm ready for anything! Many thanks for this video...
Thanks for watching! :)
Sweet video! Nice review and sweet b-roll.
Thank you for the kind words, and I appreciate you watching! My Nikon Z8 review is dropping today, be sure to check it out!
I've had a D750 since it released in 2015 and decided toward the end of last year to get into mirrorless and ended up going with the Zf. The Zf is a great camera, but the big downside for me was that it did not have a port to connect a remote intervalometer, so I couldn't use my Hahnel remote with it. And my D750, which I did a full spectrum mod on for IR and improved night shooting, could not be used with the awesome Sigma 14mm/1.4 among other S lenses I've acquired. Fast forward to the present, I was seriously considering trading in the Zf for the Z6iii, but fortunately the bright idea of simply getting a used Z6 lit up in my mind, which was far more sensible since timelapses and night shooting with Z lenses was the only additional function I needed. It also cost less and I now have two ML bodies instead of just one. Thanks for reminding me that I made the right choice!
I think you made a great choice! I also love that you converted the D750 to full spectrum. I might be doing that with one of my cameras soon as well!
@@RunNGunPhoto Cheers, man! I highly recommend the full spectrum mod, especially since Kolari has a UV/IR cut filter (Hot Mirror 2) that does an excellent job at allowing you to shoot conventional photographs again. One further tip, I've learned that full spectrum conversion is particularly more economical on a ML body rather than DSLR because they allow the use of clip-in filters which are basically one size fits all.
Hello I have just bought Kodak Duaflex IV 😊 How to remove 35mm film to camera?
Hi Great camera I had two of the D3s sold one, it waas a mistake. now looking for another D3s with low shutter count . Bought mine with 6k clicks that was on both cameras
Oh wow! Well I’m glad you kept one at least!
got mine in 2016 when I was till in photo school. today i'm still using it to shoot raves. though it looks very weathered now. I'm thinking of either having it restored or just get a d850.
A d850 is also a great camera choice. I’ve used it a lot for concerts in the past and I loved it!
Strange question: is it still any good? The logical answer is that it still works, or not. I mean to say that when you push the button it's still captures an image. So yes it's still good
Nice review with samples, THNX!
Hope that helps! I really enjoy the quality of this lens, and was surprised what a 60yr old camera (lens) could do.
Nice shots! 😁 Did you shoot in vlog? With DR boost ? Keep up the good work.
Yes, it was shot in V-Log, but not DR Boost. I don't like he high minimum ISO and more pronounced banding.
@@RunNGunPhoto thx for the answer!

What's the point making a camera review without showing what kind of photos can take
Have you ever shot film? Or watched a film camera review on CZcams? just wondering
@@RunNGunPhoto did ..many show samples so at least you can see how the camera performs ..makes sense right? its like reviewing a car without really driving it
@genkishan if it were digital I would agree. But when it comes to analog cameras, it’s really about, “does the shutter work or not?” The lens and film do all of the work to create the image. You could take two nearly identical looking images with a Fuji, Nikon, or Canon 35mm. The true variable is the film stock. Sorry you were disappointed. Check out Part II to see the scans: czcams.com/video/QT1YlefwvkY/video.html
@@RunNGunPhoto A combination of both, lately been interested in the old Kodaks but for example the Pony and few other models are some or none sample photos to see how those lenses perform
@@RunNGunPhoto I mean If I buy a camera is for to make photos not to have it sit on the cupboard as a museum piece
th best! Until now...
Until now? What did I miss? Lol
For me one of the best features of the D810 is that ISO extends to 32, which is wonderful when using fill-flash. And with the D810's 1/250 synch I can shoot at f/5.6 or f/8 at outdoor car shows and still get enough fill with a small shoe-mount flash. I also like that the D810 can shoot in the 5:4 aspect which I sometimes prefer to the standard 3:2. That also has the advantage of reducing file size somewhat since I don't need to post 8,000-pixel files on Flickr.
I honestly never even knew it had the option of 5:4! Thanks for dropping some knowledge.
Still worth? Yes!
Absolutely! Nearly 2 decades later. :)
Beautiful footage! Did you have to push the ISO in some shots? I’m thinking of pairing this lens up with my GH7 🙏🏾
If I remember correctly, my ISO was 640-1600. I try not to push it far beyond that.
@@RunNGunPhoto thank you for the reply! 🙏🏾
@@bharumusic Thank you for watching! Welcome to the channel!
Researching the d810 as a street portrait camera
The D810 would be great for that! I've used it for street photography in NYC!
I've only ever used kit lenses, up until buying Canon's 50mm f/1.4 (a.k.a the "Plastic Fantastic"). Absolutely loved it!
The best!
At that price being the best still doesn't feel like enough
Most cars have 4 wheels and will get you where you want to go. Some cost $10K, $100K or even $1M. There are $80-150 bags you’ll wear out every couple of years if you’re using them regularly. You’re paying for quality craftsmanship and a long lasting product. Because photography is my income, backpacks are a tax write off. I’m all about getting a durable, long-lasting product that meets all of my needs, over one that is just okay but cheap. At the end of the day, it’s not for everyone, but you get you pay for.
I have one too many backpacks searching for my ‘ideal’ camera cum travelling backpacks. This means smallish <20L that would accommodate my largest lens + body which is OM1 + 150-400 lens (similar to Sony A7 series + 200-600). It came down to Thinktank Mindshift Backlight 18L recommended by many users. Managed to get it at reasonable condition and price used ($80). Indeed great size despite backside opening (although it does have functionality to strap the backpack on your waist and turn it over to access the camera). Quality is great and robust as others from well known brands. What irks me are those excess dangling straps everywhere! I saw Gura Kiboko by accident in YT and like the 16L size, the design and functionality. I was first taken aback with the price, then the dimension of the 16L seems a little too snugged for my lens (the hood circumference of my lens is 0.5cm too wide). I know the 20L Kiboko will be ok but I do not want to get yet another 20L backpack. In my search I found rather cheap Japanese brand Hakuba Shell Trek 4 that would fit my camera + lens, looks neat without dangling straps, top access, and most importantly for $105 delivered. So I bought it. Alas the material and built quality is so cheap, flimsy and poor. I should have guessed from the price. Finally after some thoughts I ordered Gura Kiboko 16L last night. I thought the worse is I would remove the lens hood and replace it with smaller foldable travel hood. Now I can’t wait to receive the bag.
@frankygamaliano7058 Thanks for sharing your story. A great lesson in "you get what you pay for." Yes, the Kiboko is the most expensive bag I've used, but also the best build quality and features.
Hi, is there a mechanical shutter in z6 ? How many frames it can shoot in mechanical?
Yes, the Nikon Z6 does have a mechanical shutter. According to Imaging Resource: "Performance matched Nikon's specification of 12 frames per second for JPEG and 12-bit NEF files, and 9 frames per second with 14-bit NEF files. "
Great video I really learnt a lot
Awesome- happy to help! :)
I haven’t been doing much photography in recent years so if need be I’ve always fallen back on my old D300 that I’ve had since 2009. It’s held up really well over the years and still takes really good pictures. Yesterday I purchased a used but clean D810 and am really excited to start using it. Hopefully it’s as reliable as my old D300.
It'll definitely be reliable! It's a fantastic camera and you'll enjoy it. Let me know how it goes!
Re: 4:38 neither Ps, nor Ae are easy for me. Both are not user friendly IMHO. 😊
“Easy” or “hard” are both relative. They do both have a learning curve.
@@RunNGunPhoto , nothing to argue about. But out of tons and tons of all kinds of soft I used in my entire life, these two are the least user friendly if at all. For me. I can't say for all.
Interesting, I've never heard that before...
IMO, this bag has been a "no-go"; it doesn't appear in your video to have access from the rear; the front access is a huge no-no for theft (and the need to suggest a carabiner to secure it) and lastly, the price is way out of line. I can find many more options that are 2x better for 1/2 the price.
I can't get to my gear when the only entry to the bag is in the back. I absolutely can't stand that style of bag after having various silly versions over the years. The price is based on the build quality and features -- as someone who's bought, used and reviewed more bags than I can count... it's worth it.
Well detailed review, great images. Thanks for sharing, Boromir 😉
Hahaha 😂
Any camera that can adjust iso shutter speed and appature will take excellent images anything more than these 3 settings is just showing off...
I have manual control over my GoPro and my iPhone. I wouldn’t take either on a portrait shoot though.
NOT SUSCRIBE BUT GIVE U A COMENT! . NICE JOB
Thanks for watching @Zevastyam! Hope you watch more of my content and subscribe in the future!
I’ve had this camera for three years and I love it for vlogging
It's great! I'm still surprised it shoots 4K video!
They made also the D810A for astrophotography but this version is almost impossible to find second hand. And if you find one it costs 2000-3000 bucks. If I am correct they only made a few thousand of these.
I honestly didn’t know that!
@@RunNGunPhoto Nikon has made some more special editions of their cameras but the D810A might be the infamous one. Other special editions were the D800E where they removed the anti alias filter. Another one would be the D3X. Basically a D3 with a 24MP sensor and that in 2008. I have the D800E and D3X and they are relatively easy to get. But the D810A is something like a unicorn. But I will get it sometime😁
@user-qe7gw4yv7y I wish you luck. I knew about the D800E but never really knew what the difference was. I have some research to do.
@@RunNGunPhoto These were production models. But the coolest thing is to have a piece of Nikon gear which never was in production like prototypes. One of these is the Nikkor ED 28-80mm f/2.8D (IF). Only 2 examples are known to exist. Or the lenses which Nikon made for NASA and went up with the space shuttle. Now that is what I call collector items. If you dig deep you enough you can find the most interesting items.
@user-qe7gw4yv7y that’s fantastic! Thanks for sharing a bit of your knowledge!
Beatiful
Thank you!
Need a compliment for my D610 (another bargain). Probably buying one this week from a reputable dealer. At less than $500, plan to use it for high school sports and backing up the 610 for real estate.
You'll love the D3, far less noisy than the D610.
I have its baby brother: the D300. It's a crop sensor version of course, but it has quite a bit in common with both the D3 and the D700.
Great review. Ty

It’s still a fantastic! I’ll make a new video for 2024!
Brother i have a question that no one has quite answered..haha .lets c if u can So lets take a good screen .. phone or tablet which is max 4k ie 8mp or lets make it 10. And u got a pic on it from this d810 which is 36 mp. The tricky question is how does the phone/device know which pixel to show?? Cos the max the device can display is 8mp.. a very good example is the autumn tree pic @4:00 ... Wont the leaves look smudged? I bet they do cos it's a 36mp pic viewed on a max 8mp screen. Am i right or missing something here?
Great question, and I'll throw another factor into your equation. Let's start with known factors, for example, the iPhone 15 screen resolution is 2556 x 1179 = 3MP. My video resolution was 3840x2160 (4K) = 8MP. So we're scaling 8MP down to 3, to view on a phone. I'm guessing these devices have some calculation for scaling images, on which pixels to show and which to "hide."
@@RunNGunPhoto @RunNGunPhoto there are few articles on the internet about less megapixels and images looking sharper on the screen. That autumn tree shot for instance,,, how does my iphone or android know which leaf to display when the image is 'fit to screen" size? But if it was anything around 6 megapixels or lower it would fit great and every detail would be visible. Try it yourself;)) these low mp cameras like nikon d50, d70 etc are available for pennies in the used market. Or if youre lucky almost free at a thrift store. Take same image with d810 and d70 and view them on a tablet. I bet you'll see the difference;)))
