Rhino Rescue vs CAT gen7 tourniquet
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed 6 měsíci
A comparison of the rhino rescue tourniquet and the cat Gen 7. I miss speak in the beginning and call the rhino rescue the North American rescue, but it's pretty obvious what I'm talking about.
I am more interested in gel/ soft tissue performance than armor. 😅 Thanks for the numbers !
Thanks for watching!
CEP for 30+ yrs, and I have a bunch of these RR TQs. The metal windlass version is available at a slight (but worth it) premium, and in my opinion is even stronger than the nylon one. TQs are like Narcan to me, I always have several of each on hand, because I'm likely to give them to other rescuers I work with if they dont carry their own.
I shot a few 9mm special threat rounds (civil defense, 65gr Inceptor and NovX) at a 10x12 TSG rigid iiia panel. The only round that penetrated was the 80gr +P. The non +p 80 gr was stopped. The +p version penetrated 2 out of 3 times and also penetrated my 1/4" lexan backer.
Thanks for the data dude. I'm not sure what else to test this on, I was thinking helmets, but if its going through a IIIa rigid plate it will probably pen a helmet.
@@durabuilt7456 Paul Harrel had a video of the 80gr version going through a stacked panel of iia with iiia behind it. They were soft aramid armor panels. UHMWPE does a bit better but not for this round.
Same concept as buying hemostatic gauze or combat gauze vs regular gauze. They function the Same way and there is little advantage to buying the brand name.
I would agree that plain cotton gauze is plain cotton gauze. It does not matter what you get. As for hemostatic gauze that has an active ingredient, brand MAY matter. But I don't know of any way you could test it.
good comparison video. theres multiple other vids of strength tests and the rhino rescue holds on par with the NAR CAT TQ. in my experience rhino rescue is similar if not the same quality as NAR for a more affordable cost
