Very cool! Due to difficulty to find adequate pouches, I often use adapted items, like old cigarrette/lighter pouches and old police belt gear. The bigger that I have is a traffic fine ticket pouch from my grandpa.
I think I need a set of hole punch tips. My drill press could be used to punch holes in leather. Oh, hell. That’s what’s being used here. I like everything about the design, except elastic. I live in the desert southwest, and our climate destroys elastic over time.
The elastic band can be replaced by leather. I chose the elastic because I can insert tools of different sizes into it. Thanks for your comment !
Why did you use a separate piece of leather for the long strip, it's the same weight? Right? Looks like it could have fit on the original piece. Just curious.

What's that hole punch machine you are using? I quit leatherwork because I had to stitch through the various punches that marked the way.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Since the Coin Sap can be used for self defense, I chose veg tan. leather with a thickness of 2mm (5oz) for its strength and rigidity. In the video the Coin Sap has just been made, but as you may know the leather stretches slightly over time. You can always use another type of less thick leather as we find everywhere, but it will never be strong enough after a first use (cracks or tears). Have a good day.
