And if, as some commenters state, this appears rushed, bear in mind that at least Stateside its network television broadcast had to accommodate commercial breaks. The compression of Dickens' short story was necessary and remains remarkably rendered; I did not, could not, forget this.

That has to be Kenneth Williams voicing the...well, just fast forward to 1:32. Dang if I know why the Owens-Corning voice sounds so familiar, and that could well be Michael Hordern pitching TDK. Quality through and through. (UPDATE: Another commenter gets it right; John Bartholomew Tucker's voice blanketed Stateside TV commercials of the era, as did those of Mason Adams and Herschel Bernardi.)

This is blowing my mind how good that first camera pan is, without computers no less. I was similarly blown away by this one shot in thief and the cobbler (it was still in inks without colors when I saw it) where there was a similar camera movement but vertical. I was left with a dropped jaw. I can't describe it other than I couldn't believe someone did it without a computer

tobacco itself isnt that bad, it's the high fructose corn syrup they spray the tobacco with BEFORE they wrap the cigs. if you have nicotine in your blood mosquitoes wont bite you, worms will die. if you're suffering from amatoxin poisoning, smoking cigs in excess can actually give you enough atropine to survive the poisoning. atropine was the original antidote to amatoxin. the real reason they hate nicotine is it makes your blood toxic to mosquitoes and prevents things from infesting you, increases concentration, steadies the hand for better artwork (and sniping, hence lucky strike), and basically because it's a plant. same reason shrooms and weed are schedule 1, they dont give a crap about health, they just want the profits to themselves.
