    Short piece but I find it quite difficult: fast tempo, arpeggios mixed with sixths, weak fingers trills and stretched chords.

    Well czerny definitely took the inspiration from Chopin with this one. Clearly the minor version of Chopin's Op. 10 no. 1

      Czernys etudes were first. Chopin was rather inspired. The ocean etude of chopin was therefore based on the ocean waves etude of czerny. Thats at least what I've heard. Czerny was born before Chopin so it would make sense

    Well done! Watching this etude on youtube reminds me indirectly of Britney's 2013 song "Work B***h". Of course, Chopin may have had a more tragic vision and perspective. Fun to imagine that very few virtuosi could play it in the 1840s, and today it is played (or at least practised) by millions of students worldwide.
