United States
Registrace 30. 11. 2012
2011 was the year I bought my first Mosin Nagant 91/30.
Since then, like many others, I have caught the surplus bug. Not sure if it was the smell of cosmoline, or something else, but I am now completely fascinated with firearms, and it all started with one Mosin Nagant...
I have many interests, not just firearms, so don't be surprised to see videos depicting my other interests here as well. Though all of my interests revolve around keeping my hands busy, so if you are into watching this kind of stuff, please stay awhile.

DIY pistol hangers
Because my safe shelves were not really standard I decided to make my own handgun hangers. To be honest, I would have probably done it even if the shelves were the usual kind anyway.
As called out multiple times in the video, please disregard my use of silicone tubing to protect the rifling and muzzles. I did end up using heatshrink tubing.
I used round bar, cold rolled steel, 3/16" diameter and 48" length to make my hangers out of.

Is it possible to increase safe capacity? Yup
zhlédnutí 2KPřed rokem
As we all probably know most safes overstate their capacity by using smaller rifles. Well, my new safe is no different. So, I decided to try and see if I could squeeze more out of it by changing the long rifle organizer to my own.

Rebuilding stairs to make them more comfortable to use, to be more structurally sound and to be more pleasing aesthetically. Still work in progress. I should have included more detailed pics of how the original stairs were built. It is a miracle they were still functional.

A third video in the series on this DIY renovation, and specifically demolition I am doing in our new house. This is a 24-day progress update, 8 days of work since the last video. Encountered more unexpected difficult work. The backer board for the tile in the master bathroom was glued down and screwed down to the subfloor, and took 2 days to remove. I am glad I did it because stained areas of ...

Zipper, lets all respect the Zipper method when merging. This aggressive driver decides to force his/her (still can't tell) way in even though the car in front of them merged in front of me. By the rules of the zipper this driver was supposed to merge behind me. And yes, I could have and maybe even should have let them in, but at some point these kinds of drivers need to be taught to show some ...

To follow my previous 10 day progress video here is a 16 day progress video. Thankfully, I found a sledge on the property which helped me remove that very stubborn brick at the fireplace. Got to use the Dustopper from homedepot. It works pretty well. However, most of the rigid brand shop vac bags broke at the seam on the right side (when in the shop vac), which was super annoying. Hello everyone, we finally got a house and now doing some demolition in it. Out with the old and in with the new. Just wanted to give you a quick update. As you can see, under the hardwood we found plywood, which explained why those floors were so muc...
Aging or Antiquing steel parts for Winchester 1895

In this video I experiment with making steel parts look older. Sometimes when making a part for something old, in this case a Winchester 1895 rifle, you may need to quickly add age to the part. I follow a simple process to make these steel parts look older, slightly rusted and worn or slightly damaged.

After a long long time, I have not found any detailed video like this one on youtube on berette pistol. Very informative and very high quality video. Thumbs up for you. I miss those good old days when youtube was really ❤.
I completely agree. And thank you
I dont see the lawsuit between glock and Smith and wesson I just replaced the trigger in my wifes SD9VE I will never touch that trigger again the mechanics are not the same. I love a glock. Also glock did win the lawsuit against smight and wesson on the sd9ve versions
Nice rifle!!!
Thank you! I agree
I would be a little leary polishing the face of the connector. If one removed to much material that could cause another problem. I really enjoyed the video it explained a lot.
Agreed. One must always be careful to not overdo something.
I was going to follow your guide until i realized i was putting 31 rounds into my magazine, causing it to not lock when the bolt is closed
At least you can have 30 round mags.
Gracias, excelente trabajo, saludos desde San José Costa Rica. 🇨🇷❤🇨🇷

Thank you very much. I am glad the video helped.
Essentially a 1911- esque (swing link, barrel bushing) auto pistol simplified for Soviet production. I've heard these are a little heavy on the recoil chambered in 7.62 Tokarev. I see Zastava and Cugir Tokarevs all the time for sale @ Classic Firearms, chambered in 9mm. I'd prefer the 7.62 just for the sake of keeping it original.
Agreed. And they are actually not so bad in terms of recoil.
13:34 what pin is that? Where does it go ?
If you watch right before the time you referenced, you will see that i am talking about the Sear and its Spring and then I remove the pin that holds the sear and spring in the frame.
Did it rust after words ? I heard after you apply the bluefish. You need to rub it down with a little bit of water so it doesn’t rust.
No, it still looks like it did when I made the video. Oiling is needed to prevent rust.
Thank you and EXCELLENT.
My pleasure!
Is that a green mosin? It looks cool!
Yes, we were discussing stock colors on one of the forums and emerald green came up. So as a test I stained one of the mosin stocks. Came out pretty good. Definitely different.
Best vid I've watched on this!
Thank you.

I think they are great pistols.
I’ve got a 1858 pietta Remington new model army that I would like to replace the barrel on. Last year a buddy and I were firing it and had a squib load that destroyed the rifling in the barrel. $330 to $400 for a new revolver or around $75 for the barrel. (I think you know which route I’m thinking)
Both? ;)
U made this look as tho even an ape like me could do it lol. Awesome vid man, super high quality, thank u!

Your videos are an absolute life saver, makes the process exceptionally easy to follow, my greatest thanks

10 year old video but still the best explanation

Are they complete build kits
No. They wouldn't be able to send them to your house if they were complete. The receiver/frame is cut up. You only get pieces of it. Therefore not a firearm.
That's no field-stripping... I would at least put those tiny parts well aside.
Plastic bags are a good idea to catch some of the smaller stuff.
I have a shadow systems gun and the cross shaped portion of the trigger bar that the connector engages (the cruciform from what I can tell it’s called) is scratched up. With diagonal scratches….what would cause this? I shoot suppressed
Diagonal scratches would only appear when the trigger bar was out of the gun. I can't think of anything that would make the trigger bar or other parts move diagonally during normal operation.
@@MosinVirus thanks for info. Gun is brand new and the first time taking slide off is when I saw the marks. Someone said it could be tooling marks from factory
@@Ellienollie could be.
Does anyone remember the channel where the guy wears black gloves a lot, has tattooed hands that wear almost all black from tattoos, lived somewhere in the northwest, showed all kinds of cool guns, had snakes and other reptiles, etc? I remember watching him years ago and this video reminded me of him. He had several videos about the 5.7 pistol as well. I can't find anything or remember the channel name. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks people! ✌️
I, unfortunately do not. Maybe other viewers know who it was.
@MosinVirus thanks anyways.
Apparently there are full auto switches flooding the streets in most large American cities now. Maybe you could do an update to explain how those things work. : )
I would love to, but in California I would likely end up in bug trouble even having one outside of the gun.
@@MosinVirus Oh I figured you could just explain it with a Glock and a drawing or something.
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 CZcams would remove it as instruction to illegal conversion.
@@MosinVirus I've seen animations explaining existing fully automatic weapons.. it might be worth a try anyway. This video is a legitimate classic.
You didn't have to do any thing with the rifle and the safety lever. This is a war rifle that needs a man to handle it not a gentle person. It is meant to be always on firing position. You want the rifle idle or locked, just use the rimmed cartridge or a flat screwdriver to grab the notch in the end of the firing pin and pull it back while turning the safety lever to middle or lock position. I Hope this is helpful.
Very.
Wow beatiful vary good 👍🏻💯💯
Thank you
Oh my lord look at the groups out of that thing! Must feel great having all that effort not be wasted on a poor shooting gun
Thank you. It was very good to see those groups.
Hello. This scope you've got from accumounts is the reproduction of Russian pu scope is it made in Russia or China?
Definitely not Russia.
It is said reproduction Russian pu scope on their website. Just wonder where it is made in. For this price could be made in Russia or Germany.
@@aleksandrorlov1515 i think they are calling it that because it was modeled after a Russian PU scope, not because it was made in Russia, but I am not sure where they are made. The accumounts scope is setup like a modern scope - reticle/crosshairs stay centered. Field of view moves when you adjust the turrets. The originals are completely different - the reticle moves with adjustment.
I asked them via email. They responded. East Europe.
@@aleksandrorlov1515 Maybe it is Russian then.
How long would that finished stay for ??
It is still there. And I didn't clear coated it.
i have a question i have a problem with the trigger house part i don’t know if the trigger should be loose or the trigger should be hard when installing the locking block
The locking block should not really do anything to the trigger. As far as trigger housing, you need to make sure the trigger spring is not kicked off to the side on the bottom/back of the trigger bar. That could make the trigger harder to pull, will affect trigger reset and cause other problems.
@@MosinVirus so when building it you need to make sure the trigger can move freely and not be “hard”
@@lemonblockceo1333 you can check the parts outside of the frame. If they don't fit correctly then you need different parts or to modify the parts to fit better. Without seeing what you mean by "hard" it is difficult to tell what may be wrong.
@@MosinVirus is their a way i can add you on a platform to show you

Yes.

Nice technique, unfortunately that stuff washes away in short time from use
Agreed. It would likely be best clear coated.
If you have an Egyptian definitely get new recoil springs, even the used springs were an inch longer than the originals.

I got past the first three fates with the reassembly procedure but then I left the detente spring off for the safety lever install. Now, it won't shake out, and I've been at it for hours, even whacked the frame with a mallet, dug at it with pins, knives, magnet. What the hell am I gonna do??
I have always wanted to ask this question! Are you ever "timid" or do you ever second guess yourself before a job like this? I'm scared just watching. Good work sir!!!
Thank you. I don't think so. I am basically always considering the worst outcome and weighing it against experience gained.
