Is there a country train beat?
I own one my father had for years!
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Yeah, these little guitars are cool as heck and a great piece of Rock n Roll history!
Hi! Thx for the great demo! Question; I know nothing about these electronics, but would like to buy one with the foot pedal for a friend of mine who I know would love it. Can you tell me exactly what kind of cord I need to purchase to connect the foot pedal to the DR-01S? Looking for a 10 footer.
Sure! We can help you get everything you need at Mainstagemusic.com! Reach out and we will get your order put together for you
They sound so robotic, all of them….so fake….🤦
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! I think I understand what you mean.....This is a digital effect, so it is, in fact, fake....but another conversation to have is how 'perfection' is what humans perceive as 'fake'.....just like those AI images that are all being passed around. That being said, its still a great tool to use for musicians who need harmony but dont have the luxury of having other musicians to play/sing with.
Your way out of tune
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Yeah, the problem with doing 'live streams' is that there isnt the luxury of correcting little issue like that! But hey! I appreciate you pointing it out....it will help me 'be better' for next time! (BTW its 'You're' not 'Your' LOL)
HOLLEY COW big bad john excellent great demo this is the best demo iv seen on here .. thank you so much im sold
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! Support small biz.....When you're ready to order, be sure to snag it from Main Stage Music! Thanks!
Can somebody please just shut up, plug in an acoustic, play and sing through it at the same time!
Thanks for the suggestion! Yeah, this was a livestream, so we were trying to just go through the broad specs. We demo the unit in the shop all the time...it's great for busking, and if you need louder, Id recommend the new ThrashGo as well. It's a 12" speaker so it pushes more raw volume. Thanks for subscribing!

Recently ordered one to dip my toe into upright after many years as a bass guitarist. Looking forward to learning what, in many respects, will be an entirely new instrument.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Im sure you will love it once you get the hang of it! I hope you bought it from a Independent music shop and not some Billion dollar corporation!
I’m planning on getting one of these soon. After tax and warranty I’m gonna have to pay 800, luckily I’m spoiled asf so I got 500 for my birthday. Also now that I’m 14 I can get a job, so once I get one I’ll be able to afford it. Looks and sounds awesome, thanks for the helpful video, CANNOT wait to get mine!
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Youll really love the bass....and earning and saving up will make you love it more! Anything unearned is unappreciated! Well done!
The harmony effect is awfull. Fake, robotic, weird sounding.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! What I love so much about music gear, and the passionate people who make it, is how our uniquely tuned ears interpret sound differently. Many settings on this unit are, by design, 'robotic and weird sounding'. Heck, one of the settings is even called 'robot'! So to your point, the Folks at Boss have created something for all styles with this unit. Thanks again for the great insight.
Does this run off a 9 volt battery?
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! The internal preamp is powered by dual AA batteries installed at the output jack.
@@MainStageMusicTV Cool man thanks! Is the battery life pretty good? I just ordered the Yamaha FGC-TA TransAcoustic Dreadnought with cutaway in black off sweetwater. I’m pretty excited to get it
@@rickyr6702 The battery life is quite good, usually at least 10+ real hours. Hopefully, Next time you give an Independent dealer (Like Main Stage Music) an opportunity to serve your music gear needs instead of a Multi Billion dollar corporation! We would appreciate it!
That honey color is cheaper! I just got one for $650. End pin will rattle on you, easiest fix…take thumb screw out and thread it into fitting on back of body to hold pin tight against inside of body.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! Thanks for the advice on the pin, although Ive not experienced that issue.
No thanks. I don't need it in the studio, its free in my Daw. And I can't grab it and go for live use, they left out the auto harmony with instrument. I would rather stick with 11yro harmony singer. Fine demo by the way.
Thanks for the comment, and for subscribing! Boss makes the VE-2 and VE-8 for the guitar player guys who want a simple harmonizer that follows the guitar. Ive got both and love em! This unit is really neat in that it allows for much more complex harmonies than the other ones can provide. But hey....there is a 'Lid for every pot'! we appreciate the input nonethless!
@@MainStageMusicTV This is an upgrade to the VE-8. Boss still struggles to compete with TcH harmony algos from 10-15 years ago. It's really a huge lost opportunity.
@@lashram32 Well, as a dealer who has had TC both before and *after* the Behringer transition I'll respectfully disagree with your viewpoint on the difference between Boss innovation and Behringers history of counterfeit technology, but honestly whatever product inspires you to create is fine with us! Thanks for your perspective nonetheless! Keep on creating!
@@MainStageMusicTV I really am not interested in Behringer stealing intellectual property... I don't feed my family slinging Boss gear either. Boss released the VE-500 and it obviously falls short with tracking a live instrument to vocal harmonies to the Harmony singer. The biggest complaint is it tracks bad. A/B it. It's a fact. When they made the Ve-22 they went ahead and left the feature out altogether. Thats a fact. One could assume it is because they knew it is inferior. That is speculation. Beringer transition happened in 15 Harmony Singer came out in 13. Those are facts. Nothing to do with Behringer. The Ve-22 falls short for, a boat load of singer songwriters who would like to perform with it and not scroll through pre defined midi preset keys every time they modulate. It's not a controversial dramatic position to have. Performing songwriters are going to be disappointed. Ve-22 is missing a feature that will dissuade an entire chonk of their market.
@@lashram32 I love your passion about gear! It means you love what you do, and the tools you do it with, enough to have such strong opinions about it! I cant say too many other crafts would carry such research, and resolve on tools used. You keep that fire alive and your area will be blessed by your output! Thanks for the dialogue!
Thanks for the informative video. Does this unit support support a stereo mix with panning? Does it sound better than the P2?? Thanks.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! This can be stereo or mono which I thought I addressed in the video, but honestly Ive never used a track with panning to double check that feature....but honestly I dont know why it wouldnt! ....and yes, It is a finer product in every way from the P2....I covered a couple reasons in the video...Its a superior product.
@@MainStageMusicTV Thanks for the reply. You did comment and the switch says stereo but that is not exactly what I am referring to. I think for this unit it is just a duplicate of the mono signal to the other ear. I don't believe there is any panning or any spatial sound. I noticed some in ears monitors use two aux outputs where you can get a panned left and right and a true stereo mix. This is pretty new to me so I am trying to figure out what is what, ha ha. I think the design of this unit is superior to the P2, but overall sound wise probably pretty close to the same. I might order one and see for myself. Thanks.
@@commandertim575 great point! In order to achieve true stereo, you need two inde outputs. Hmm. Well, it is balanced in, so maybe a "Y" or a "Summing cable" to TRS would work. Ive never tried it, but it sounds like a fun experiment. Im sure youll like it nonetheless, and be sure you snag it from us here at Main Stage !

Has anyone tried to program Autotune Like T-pain?.. there was a video on VE-20 doing that, I followed the method switching pitch correction (P41) to Electric but it is very subtle.. Any advice on this?
Keep trying, Im sure youll find the right blend to suit your need!

Could you please tell me how to adjust the volume level on this pedal.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! Try pressing and holding the center button that says 'ALT' and the turning the center dial (underneath of which says 'Channel Volume') Thanks!

Yall do know shit about musicians until you met my best friend, brother and my family member jeremy staton and our cousin Markus
Jeremy is a baller for sure! Thanks for commenting and subscribing to the channel!
I just seem to notice something... I am trying to test all effects however the Default key is "C" , is there a way to change the default key to "G" as my background song / music is in the key of G.. Having to adjust the key everytime you switch preset is very annoying. Does anyone know how to do this?
The key of C makes the most sense to be the default key, as it has no 'sharps' in the scale. This is a product not to dissimilar from a new phone....you have to program your contacts and favorites in it, but then they stay in there. I know its irritating, but until Roland develops brain scan tech that can interface with our hopes and dreams, we will have to save and create our own perfect presets manually.
@@MainStageMusicTV Actually I would say that it is very simple for them to simply put in the setup menu that the Key when the user selects it stays fixed... no big deal.. as an option. Let the user choose the key leave it as per the user selects or the system defaults
Any chance this pedal can do vocal distortion like Julian Casablancas from the strokes vocals
It does do some great vocal distortions/distressed vocal effects. I know you can find tones that will bring your vocal performance up a notch!
@@MainStageMusicTV thank you 🙏

Really appreciate your content...And even more impressive is the manner that you interact with people's comments that could be taken as negative. You answer each intelligently and with respect and in a way that is not offensive. That may not mean anything to anyone else, but it speaks volumes to me. Glad to subscribe to your content.
Aww thanks man! I like to think that every comment is trying to communicate something to me to sharpen my content to be better. The second we stop trying to be better, or think we know everything, is the second we stop caring about what we do! I appreciate the kind words! They are very welcome! You rock!
In today's perspective, its quite sad that your presets cannot be transferred to PC or Mac for saving.. This also stops the VE-22 from being able to share user presets across the internet.
Thank you so much for your comment and for subscribing to the channel! I will forward your great suggestion to the engineers at Roland, I think its a great idea.....and although it may fall on deaf ears, I like to think that a company as forward thinking as Roland would appreciate all constructive feedback! Thanks again!
@@MainStageMusicTV @MainStageMusicTV If you noticed, the BOSS STREET II has a separate bluetooth module even though it would have cost $2 to implement that internally... so I think they could make that happen in a VE-23 haha... I am sure the VE-22 will spur competition from TC-Helicon and Zoom to come out with something to counter the VE-22. The TC-Helicon Voiceplay live and voice touch already has internet sharing capabilities and even with the roland spd-sx you can connect and see the presets folder... and all you need to do is COPY no need for any complex Android or IOS software. Japanese manufacturers tend to be very timid on internet features based on the latest products they offer whilst American manufacturers tend to be heavy on digitalization.
@@MrEagleeye58 additionally Roland is averse to get too deep into software.....they are adamant in their being a hardware company. The bluetooth adapter is an excellent example of this....they couldve put a transmitter in the unit, but instead they create an optional unit instead of building it in. But in fairness to them, relying on software does 'date' products....most Roland/Boss products made from forever ago work great without software, but other companies that designed around existing software havent aged well at all. Roland builds stuff for the long term. Hey, I really appreciate the great input!
The transducer is mounted to the back of the guitar, not the top! All you need to do is look inside the body of the guitar...try to give an accurate description please!
Thanks for subscribing to our channel and for the comment Michael! Its observations like yours that help me make better videos.
Great video, Brad! Nice chops. I've met Brad several times in the store. Really cool and knowledgeable guy.
Thanks for subscribing to the channel and for the comment JR! We appreciate ya!
It’s a 6 string but using ta system sounds like 12 string.
Thanks for the comment James! Yeah the chorus and reverb effect together do give the guitar a 12 string tone! Thanks for subscribing to the channel, we appreciate the comment!
It’s actually a so-called update for the VE-20‼️But it doesn’t do all that much for the price point…🤨it just brings the functionality up to date for todays use ie; USB , currents parts due to sucking up to china for that in the past ,.. for layout, foot switch control etc;…the Boss VE-8 & old VE-20 STILL hangs in there against this so not so much worth it IMO‼️🤨🤔
I appreciate the comment! It definitely is an update to the VE-20, but I dont know if I can completely discount its upgrades. The price is lower than the VE-8, and the harmonies just in the presets Ive never heard as tightly done in previous models. Hey, as mentioned in the video, I LOVE my VE8, but this is a very hip piece of gear for someone other than just guitar players. Hey, if you ever get by our shop, I'd love to give you an 'In person' demo! Thanks for subscribing!
great review and video! very helpful and to the point. thank you very much my friend.

How do you find the key action? Can you compare it to any other hammer-action keyboards? If it is good, this might be a spectacular MIDI controller keyboard.
Great Video LBJ.

What exactly makes the BOSS VE-22 revolutionary if we compare it to, say, TC Helicon Voicelive Play, which came out on the market in 2014? I ask because I have both devices and I have to admit that I regret buying the BOSS VE-22 because the Tc Helicon still beats it in everything except the color screen.
Thanks for the comment Marko! Our shop was also a TC dealer back when the Voicelive was released (Before Behringer decided to remove all retail outlets) I used the voicelive as well as the Harmony G and other processors in their line, and will admit that in the timeframe they were released (2009-15) they were an amazing piece of kit! now, here in 2024 The VE-22 adds many things that I appreciate. Yes, the color screen is nice, but also the soft silent switches versus the metal ones used on the TC are a welcome feature, additionally the ability to use a common power supply versus a specialized one or the ability to use batteries. From a performance standpoint, When I used the voicelive, I didnt feel the harmonies followed as accurately as the boss, especially from keys within the song, and also the ease of changing both the style of harmony and key is much simpler with the Boss interface. I could go on, but in short, if you regret buying the Boss, then find it a new home! Life is too short to use tools you dont feel are a 'fit' for your style. But, after one evening playing with this unit, I really was impressed with the overall quality of build, interface, and of course sound! Hope you subscribe to the channel! I appreciate conversation from real gear users like us!
Super helpful
Aww shucks!! Thanks Kelly! And thank you for subscribing!
'PromoSM'
I have a hard time putting mine away
Thanks for the comment, and for subscribing! Yeah, these guitars are a shop favorite no doubt!
Does this work for Bass Guitar?
Thanks for the comment, and for subscribing! Yeah! It works for Bass...but remember it changes the harmony based on what note its hearing....sometimes bass is playing a note that is complementary to the primary key, so the 'harmony' would be in that key. (which honestly may be a pretty groovy harmony!!)
I have a woodstock with a maple fretboard ( dark not light cheap looking) beautiful sound,,,, not strat or les paul,,,, Im going to seymour duncan it and add up grade electronics,,, full sounding still chime,,,,, cuts through,,,, beautiful clean,,,,, dreamlike sound excellent blues,,,, even rock.. love it Ill buy one more,,after 40 years of playing ,,,,,, mine is heavy,,,,stays in tune
Hey! Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! Yeah no doubt these Tagima guitars are delivering more than people expect! I really dig em too!
Great playing! Beautiful tone
Thank you Mark!
the distortion pedal would go in the fx loop or NUXB8 > OUTPUT > DISTORTION > AMPLIFIER
Thanks for the comment, and for subscribing! You could actually run a distortion pedal either way you mentioned. It would both work fine!
by the time I got mine in late may of last year, they had started including the pa-150 power adapter in the box, at least for the US market. A similar story was with my psr-e473 keyboard, it didn't include the adapter at first but by the time I got mine last year, the packages were including the same pa-150 adapter.
bought it, thanks

every 38 d-18 i hear on youtube sounds magical. could it be The Best D-18 Variant? sounds great.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to our channel! Yes, I'd agree with you! 1938 was a magical year for Martin guitars indeed!
It's good for loud vocal but what abt the bass!? Can it rattles doors?? So this or the jbl partybox 310?
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! With only a 8" speaker, this wouldn't exactly 'rattle doors', but it's respectable for its size. The JBL Partybox is a fun little rig for running your Spotify playlist at a party, but not really designed for live sound. The Mackie rig here is more for handling the dynamic range of microphones, guitars and line level stuff like a playlist
@@MainStageMusicTV oh. finally planning to go for 2 mackie thump 215 XT. hope will be pleased with them in terms of loudness, clarity and bass.
@@yan5362 Mackie builds great stuff....im sure you'll be pleased!
Great video! Just two points. I actually honest 1978 Iceman that I bought from a guitar shop. Pretty much stock. But I've been looking it up lately and nobody mentions the brass sustain block under the bridge or tailpiece. On mine you can see it if you look for it. What model was that on? Am I only other comment for your excellent video was besides the metal setting you should play all guitars clean just so people can hear what they sound like without a lot of effects. Great job I liked it!
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing to the channel! Yeah, I shouldve done a clean setting as well...as this was done 'live' I was kind of rushed with what I had. Thanks man!
P.S. I’d propose a Boss FS-6 footswitch over the FS-7. Also runs on batteries, and the side-by-side switches are easy to hit.
As a solo acoustic/electric performer who sings, I love the sound choices and combinations possible on this! I really want to buy and use it live, but having to fumble with the unit for various things is a no-go that breaks the flow for the audience. Only 2 functions switchable by foot leaves too many necessary functions for changing on the unit. Ideally, there should be a companion multiswitch for preset changing, tap tempo, start/stop, pause, user-selectable (as chosen for each favorite) hit sound and even add/take away alternate sound. Then it would be truly usable on stage.
Thanks for the comment Scott and for subscribing to our channel! I've been 'barking up the tree' of Boss making a footswitch-able rhythm machine, the same way they made the VE-8 which is essentially the pedal form of the acoustic singer pro amp. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!
I gotta have one
