    • @sjlefkowitz

      Good question. More emphasis on deflecting the wind with the angle from elbows to hands. We should never feel like we are pushing the wind

    With all the moving and shimmying around to get on the plane; one MUST do a final equipment check, just in case a pin gets bent or a premature opening inside is avoided. SAFETY FIRST, SECOND & THIRD.

    Why are belly flyers before free flyers? Couldn't the free flyers catch up to belly and end up in the same space at deploy?

    • @rhythmskydiving
      @rhythmskydiving Před 4 lety

      Good question. We do exit order based on horizontal separation, not vertical separation. Belly groups fall slower than freefly groups, so they are in the upper winds longer. Because they are in the upper winds longer and the upper winds tend to be stronger, they will drift downwind more than the freefly groups. For that reason, if a belly group went after a freefly group, they would tend to drift closer to the freefly group, reducing the horizontal separation set at exit.

    How do you manage to still manuever when you are using your body just to maintain a slow rate? I feel like as soon as I move I could sink..

    • @sjlefkowitz
      @sjlefkowitz Před 5 lety

      Hi, good question! You can email me at steve@rhythmskydiving.com and I'd be happy to explain more. But the short answer is, when we are slow falling, we make the same movements to sideslide, go forward/back, or rotate as we would if we weren't slow falling, we just do it with our arms and legs more extended, and our arch flatter.

    Do you cover countering and preventing spins in one of these videos? I searched and didn't see one. I confess I'm 62 and never going to skydive but I am fascinated by skydiving videos. I've decided out of control spins (leading to tangled lines) are a far greater threat to skydivers than the risk that the parachute doesn't open.

    • @martzy7536
      @martzy7536 Před 5 lety

      just learn how to do 360 turns to counter and prevent spins to avoid the threat. Make sure u can keep a stable body position.

    • @commonsense5555
      @commonsense5555 Před 2 lety

      Every spin should be countered with the opposite input, it’s really that simple and maintain good body position, on deployment make a sweeping motion with both left and right arm and keep chin up.
