I have an answer for you, Pre 96 imports do not need a catalytic converter to pass an MOT and also get a non-cat emissions test!

Nice FD man! I dont know for definate but im guessing your from the UK? Anyway wondering if you can help me out, i notice youve got the air pump removed and therefore probs running a de-cat or sports cat? Do you have trouble with MOT emmisions tests?

Get a piston engine in there and have no worries.

if anything is wrong with a rotary you have to completely disassemble it anyway, so who cares whats broke. if it drives without overheating, then drive it.

Disagree me think that smoke is defiantly water originated problem. Could be wrong but looks very much so

i think i busted my oil control ring cause my car started smoking an insane amount. i had it towed to my house cause i was afraid i would ruin the engine if i kept driving it. when the tow truck put the car on the bed as it was at a diagonal position i noticed it had oil coming out of the exhaust. does any one know what the problem is

water seal or oil seal gone there mate? and 115 psi... they should really only be running 105 psi, thats what they are from factory... so im guessing sometime along the way you adjusted the boost which blew the shit out of the oil seal around the moving gear on the actual rotor, and oil is now seaping into the combustion chambers... unlucky mate :(

@GalOvaGun I tried staggered a couple of times the same day this was filmed and out of the two i found foot in seat more comfortable.

what do u feel more comfortable with foot in seat or staggered?

@motobruce100 you can get heavy duty water seals from Atkins Rotary. However I don't see bubbles in the coolant are you sure it's not a turbo coolant line leaking? Seems to have smoke coming from that area?

@motobruce100 Both engines have their strengths and where the Wankle may not last as long as a piston engine, Its mad easy to take apart and fix when compared to the piston engine.

If u havnt driven it much or pulled the motor to replace that seal I suggest dumping a bottle of alumiseal in the rad & going for a nice long drive.... The rotary Gods swear by it!!

Probly just needs a thrashing 2 clear it out wait till its warmed up and drive it 2 red line it only way 2 know 4 sure. the radiator always pushes water up my rx does same thing.

Yep that was the plan, managed to break the internals of my alternator disasembling it tho, opps!!

add the greddy compression tube and polish the alternator and everything would be nice and shiney..

As title says it has a bad water seal yep, also this is a huge debate about piston vs rotary engine that has been going on for years and would prefer it if you didnt carry it on here. I have a piston engine car thats done 155,000 miles and runs a treat my rx7 has done 55,000 max and its fobar so yes piston engines last longer hence why they are so common but you dont get many 1300cc piston engines putting out 300+ bhp easily. Play nice :)

@sof1map Hey moron, watch the vid, and guess what? My piston engines never have done this, and no they don't have the same chance. Get a clue moron.
