This helped me a lot. It's about balance and knowing your season and what you can handle and prioritize. Thanks for the reminder and your point of view! Thanks!❤
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
Does the same apply to 2 yr olds?
Yes! I handle tantrums the same for any age. I still occasionally need to use the ABCs with my 4 year old.
Discipline made easy. Discipline= teaching Why does my child act this way? What lesson do i need to teach? How can I best teach this? Use ABC Acknowledge, boundery, choice
We as human needs to keep making mistakes until we learn from it.
Connection first no matter what.
Totally agree!
Acknowledge Boundery Choice
The ABCs really do work!
Discipline should look like teaching not punishing your child.
Absolutely!
I'm just a babysitter and nanny, not a parent yet, but I think many kids get bored while trying to sleep. That's why my plan is two fold: make sure they are properly worn out by bedtime, if I can manage it, and teach them things to occupy their mind while waiting to sleep. One kid kept getting up, so I told him to hold his teddy above his chest and count backwards from 10 as slowly as he could, and then drop the teddy. It got him to sleep that night. Is it silly? Yes. But it worked.
Well done! They’re lucky to have you!
No you need to keep the things in your house the way you want them and teach the kid what they can and can not touch its Called keeping on eye on your child and not just let them run wild why your not paying attention to them
Yes, because waiting to teach boundaries after the child has had free reign and never been told no isn't going to confuse them and create strife.
wow poor you. healthy, wealthy, white, with a house, kids, in a relationship... wow. It must be so hard that some other rich mom made a comment to you about your dumb ass little kid.
My son has a little timer. I use it for brushing teeth, bath time, all kinds of stuff and it doubles as a figit toy
Beautiful! I swear by timers in my house! Thanks for sharing, wonderful idea.
My son walked pretty late. He kept wanting to use his tip toes. He also wasnt using sentences until he turned 4. Turbs out hes autistic and now he is constantly running around and talking back 😂 I swear I think he forced himself to learn how to talk just so he could argue with me, but hes a sweetheart and hes catching up
Sounds like you’re a wonderful mom. He’s lucky to have you!
Hi. My son stoped napping when he was two, he is now almost three years old. He used to nap 2 hours. When he stopped, at the beginning, that was so difficult for me...each day was really long. After a while I could see a advantage: I got really long evenings because, without napping, he needed more sleep during the night so he was sleeping from 7 p.m. till 8 a.m. It is still like this untill today. So I am enjoing my long productive evenings. Dear Cassie, quiet time is a GREAT IDEA, tomorrow I'll start with this. Thank you sooo much❤your videos are a big help for me! A big hello from Europe.
Awesome, thanks for sharing! So happy you found what works for you guys and good luck starting quiet time!!
I wish I would have saw this video 13 years ago. 😭

Thank you, I’m so happy to hear that! You’re amazing!
Listen to this advice people. I don't talk to my mother at all for over ten years because she yelled and was a horrible mom. Don't let that be your future people.
Thank you, Cassie. Another great subject. I really like your videos. They are so helpfull! A big hello from Europe❤

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!

You’re welcome, so happy it was helpful! Good luck!
I gave my son choices and boundaries since he was one. Diaper changes, clothes to wear, food to eat and etc. Now he is learning boundaries and he hates it when I point out that everyone is watching him cry and make a scene in public. He hates feeling embarrassed. It works for me. I have less tantrums outside the house than in the house. His last tantrum was about the bus ride. We missed the bus he wanted to get on because we were late. I explained that because he didn't get his clothes and shoes on in time, we missed the bus so we had to catch another bus that meets up with it. It took him 5 mins to make the choice of taking the other bus or going home. We took the other bus and met the one we missed. He understands that if he doesn't go to bed at a decent time, it will be too late to take the bus to the depot. Choices make all the differences. He is a critical thinker now.
Thanks for sharing!

Just love kids, respect them and they will surprise you. Mother of 3 and grand mother of 4.
Absolutely, beautifully said! Thanks for sharing.
What ?? My chancleta is more than enough thank you 😂
And when your kids are big enough to hit you back you'll say you have no idea where it came from 😂
@@1kpennyxx238 I’m Hispanic and if I dare to do any tantrum the chancleta was the treatment , I’m 26 now and have never nor dare to think of hitting my parents . I also grew up in a communist shit hole where we had nothing not even food nor water nor electricity let along toys , and I cannot be any more respectful and sacrifice anything for my parents . You don’t know me so stop pretending like you do or have the super power of predicting the future . Like how dumb can you be 😂
Just kidding 😂
I start with b for beat.
also understand that a temper tantrum and an autistic meltdown are NOT the same thing. autistic children need parents who understand that simple fact
Absolutely! I have a child on the spectrum and that’s definitely a different skill set that’s needed. Thanks for clarifying.
Are there any ABC for autistic meltdowns? Asking cause my son has them back.. and i have PTSD when it starts.. i would love to have some guide how to survive while it happens.
Holding space for big feelings is hard..
It totally is and yet so worth it! Our kids learn so much from our calm, consistent responses. Keep letting consequences do the teaching, you’re amazing!
Yes, but children thrive when knowing their boundaries. Boundaries make them feel safe, applied up and beyond teenagers
😂
❤❤
Wow, so happy to hear that! Thanks for sharing and for the support.
Choices are amazing for our little one. I learned about them in your ABC video which is my go-to formula now! Thanks for all the wisdom you share ❤

Sorry about that! Here you go! www.cassiedilley.com/s/diybench
Love your video! That's my struggle at the moment 😅
I’m so sorry, it truly is SO hard to figure out. All I can say is that it’s a totally worthwhile priority so keep at it!
I know how you can get your kids to learn, just help them learn and then that would make sense and then they will have much more fun with you. That's all you have to do so just don't struggle struggle. I'm mean I am sorry that I said it weird. I'm a 5-year-old❤ My name is Morgan
This is horrible advice.
Thank you Cassie for this great reminder ❤
Of course, thank you!
Read the Book “You’re Not a Sh@#$ Parent”
Thank you so much Cassie! I really needed to hear this and see this video 🙏🙏my daughter is two and a half and I feel so much pressure that I need to start with potty training. I'm slowly trying to expose her to the idea but you see other videos with the 3 day method, Im a single mama I don't have any help I'm like how am I going to keep an eye on her like a hawk making sure I see if there's any signals that she needs to use the potty when I am trying to cook, shower, ect. Watching this video gives me piece of mind that I don't necessarily have to follow the three day training I can just go with the flow and follow her natural timing, while making sure I'm exposing her to the potty frequently
Yes!! I love hearing that. There is no reason why you need to put pressure on yourself or your daughter. She has plenty of time to catch on, as you said "follow her natural timing." So powerful! It sounds like she's got the most incredible mama! Keep it up!
@@cassiedilley Thank you Cassie! I really needed to hear these words of encouragement 🙏💜
Yay, a new video 🎉😊
You’re the sweetest, thank you!
❤
My mother wanted kids so she would have someone to clean up the house and clean up after her. But she didn't want the responsibility of taking care of a child for as long as it took for me to grow up enough to do it myself. Cue locking me in a room (before that it was a closet) at the opposite end of the house so she wouldn't have to listen to a crying baby all day. And when I was old enough, she didn't want to bother teaching me how to do the chores, since they were "simple," so I was told to do things but not how to do them. So it's not men who are lazy. It's _lazy people_ who are lazy.
Wives treating their husbands like toddlers is one of the reasons men are walking away from marriage. If your husband provides the sole household income and you're a stay at home mom then you should embrace that role and care for your man. Have dinner ready, pick up the house, wear makeup and be presentable when he gets home are a few things you can do. And for gods sake, don't complain to the world about your petty problems.
