As much as I absolutely love this rendition of the theme, the original really strikes so much more fear for me. I dunno if it’s cos I played it as a really young kid and it terrified me then, or if the silence in the beginning of the original is fear itself too. Either way I love it.

If only Remake Sephiroth was as bone chilling and terrifying as the original
They're intimidating in different ways. Sephiroth is a looming presence in FFVIIO, whereas he's an oppressive presence in FFVIIR. He's taller and broader than ever, towering over Cloud and the party, and the scenes where he shows up are intense. The only reason Remake Sephiroth gets a bad image is because of the bad Nibelheim hallucination scene.

@@tsukopara2054 I'd say it's also because he shows up every 5 minutes and rambles about stuff a new player wouldn't understand. Original game gave him time to build up a presence in your imagination whereas Remake lessens the impact by him just showing up randomly as a weak jumpscare
