Into the Cave- The Abandoned Harpers Ferry Caverns
Bro stumbled upon a backrooms level
I went there a few months ago. Homeless people all over the place. The authorities bolted the doors shut recently.
Omg! I’ve been so shy to ask as I always assume it’s a NO but this finally gave me the courage to do so. I’ve been wanting to explore the abandoned areas of this mall forever!
It’s closing this week better go there while you still can and see what’s left
@soullessprincess6473 they announced the closure!
@@nationdecayI’m lowkey sad about that since I never got to explore the abandoned parts I wonder where the former bath and body works store was and what was that Princeton’s store I’m curious on what’s behind that old store front
@@soullessprincess6473 I went today, and was told the same. Security wouldn’t give me a tour, though. Said homeless people sneak into the place and it could be dangerous plus there was mold. We did have a good chat though, as he had been going there since its prime. Oh well, I’m glad I tried at least. Sad day, though.
@@bugluvr22 the place aways smelled of mold I’m surprised it stayed open this long is the fitness connection going to stay open or is it going to be closed to I’ve aways wanted to see if there was any traces of the department store that used to be there
Such a waste with a littel tidey up this place would be perfect for the homeless.
The fencing was there for the locked units which housed flight risk students. There were 6 units, if I’m remembering correctly. Two locked and 4 unlocked. This was a residential treatment center/school where girls came, usually state ordered, for severe emotional & behavioral difficulties.
The area is full of deer 🦌 and occasionally bears. I have traveled that area multiple times throughout the years. I think it’s hilarious how easily spooked some people get about the area 😂😂😂😂
Y’all gonna be sick.
Guess what - if you don't secure the property - you're liable. This place is not secure. The actual owner who just kicked off was a total whack job and trashy who let multiple properties fall to pieces.
Who owns it now?
I remember in 2010 I went in there to buy shows. I had to run to footaction. They didn’t care to handle the crowd. Different times.
Oh that makes sense why I see apartment like buildings in the parking lot.
I lived in harpers ferry in 1992 i remeber going to this mall many of times it was so small .
This is really good footage a of what is likely the last year of Greenspoint mall. This mall really deteriorated fast. I remember watching a facebook live of a news anchor walking around in the mall in 2020 and it was in okay shape back then.
Howww did you go in there alone? I would be frozen in fear
Ikr
I would rather see this place renovated than to demolish it
My old high school graduated class of 1989....seeing this video absolutely BROKE MY HEART 💔😭💔…..I wanna restore and renovate this building
My step siblings, grandpa and the french fry factory and century three mall
It's haunted because it was built on the site of a 1969 house fire that killed 12 people. The land is rumored to be haunted by the spirits of the family
Reminds me of the mall from Dead Rising 2
I didn’t know there was a part 2 lol
I’m hearing this in a Lowe’s rn when it’s open
Did some research and looks like the old theater was absorbed into the new theater. I found some real estate plans online and the limits of the old theater are in the new theater boundaries except the old lobby.
Can you link them?
@@nationdecay look at floorplan map, the notch on premier cinemas is the old theater.
I just filmed here its rough
20:02 behind that metal door, they store the old jungle gym/playground. It is a small room, totally intact playground. Lots of memories from my childhood. I went in there once, but they've since locked it from the inside
When did the playground close also do you know what that princetons store is I’ve aways wondered and when did the playground close
So cool. I just went back there in those sections last week
How were you able to get there with security? I was able to go into the wing with the movie theater, but there was a lot of activity with shipments and someone moving things through the mall. The food court barricade was also being watched by a guard
@@MnemonicHeadTrip wait when was that? I have never seen security guards or had problems with exploring the mall. Maybe it was just a slow day and I got lucky. It was probably like a Tuesday around 6pm. But even last year and the year before when I explored I’d never seen any security
@@MnemonicHeadTrip you got inside the movie theater? Or just in the employee tunnel?
@@jamilet444 it was around 5 months ago so maybe I just went at a bad time. He was super rude to me and questioned why I was looking around and told me “it’s just a mall.” I only saw the outside of the movie theater inside of the mall, I didn’t go into any employee tunnels because there were shipments of some kind being moved around. Is there a way to get into the main part of the mall besides the public entrance? It looks like the door was just open to one of the department stores in this video, but I don’t think it connects to the rest of the building. Someone also mentioned that you can supposedly get in through the roof, and I did see open doors on the roof with google maps so
@MnemonicHeadTrip you have to go in through the abandoned Macys with the open door in the back and then go on the roof. The entrance into the mall is barricaded off
How is this place not condemned?
Did they find a way to get into the old original movie theater, General Cinema 5 which down from the new theater that was built. wonder if that service hall on the left from the entrance of the new theater could take you to the old theater.
I think it’s through the back halls and it’s hidden behind a wall but someone said they went there once around 15 years ago and everything was intact the screens and chairs but extremely moldy I would love to see it tho
@@soullessprincess6473 I know it would be so interesting to explore and check how it is now sitting abandoned for almost 30 years. I wonder if everything is still intact. It is probably way more moldy and have to wear a respirator now. See a place frozen in the 90s. I wish someone had pictures of that old theater back then or even now.
I don’t believe it’s in tact anymore. I’m pretty sure that entire section of the building was demolished but I’m not sure. There was a large area covered by drywall but I didn’t realize the possibility that it could be back there at the time.
@@nationdecay it was where the advertisement for the newer movie theater was where the glass was 13:55 that’s where the old movie theater was it closed in 1998 it’s possible to get in but the door in the service halls might be bolted shut or the doorknob might be broken as a lot of the old doorknobs no longer work
@@Jman12678 ikr it’s probably dangerous levels of mold just hidden behind a wall the power definitely wouldn’t work in there i read that it suddenly closed in 1998 no one knows why
Why the fuck would you go alone I could never explore without a friend with me
oh word i live in that city
Beautiful❤
For future explorers reading my comment: Please do not play with electrical panels. A electrician died at the derelict Northridge mall working on an electrical box where the front door was energized. You don't know who did what to what in an abandoned mall.
Epic! 👍👍
"What if your child get ammonia" 🤣
That place is HUGE!
Thanks, gave me nostalgia for my mall back home. 😮
I have several pairs of patent leather Jordan’s lol 😂. I was in law school when they first came out, so I couldn’t afford them. Now I have over 400 pairs of shoes
Where do you fit them all? Shelves? 😮
@@agoogleuser704 I have a racks in bedroom closet where I put my shoes. They all still in its original box, some of them I only wore once or some I never wore at all. I have a pair of Travis Scott shoes with Gucci and they’re worth over $3,000 worn but in good condition and $5,000 brand new never worn with OG box
News clip: Oh yeah, I remember that. So many little ones got ammonia. Fortunately the the kids were able to sell it to SC Johnson for use in cleaning supplies.
🤨
😂😂😂
Great footage. You cured security's boredom and got a good tour.
Good to see this pop up on my feed. I haven't seen you in a while. Hope all is well!
Cool how security gave you a tour. I wish more security was awesome like that.
My old High School...class of 97. You have the best footage of all the youtubers that took footage of the school after. You catch a glimpse of what it used to look like when i went there. Before they stripped everything in your end footage
How did you get into Century 3 Mall?
Taking a page from Dan Bell's Dead Mall Series intro 😂
The purpose of this was a parody of the dead mall series intro, you’ll notice I threw in a clip of Dan waving. This video was shot very shoddy and quick and not meant to be anything professional. Several of my intros are direct ripped for inspiration from Dan namely the mall videos. I’ve been doing this for years, from way back when me and Dan still regularly hung out with each other
Really, you deleted my comment ! Wow 😂 nice one kid.
I don’t delete comments. If your comment was deleted, CZcams automatically filtered it out. Feel free to reply here and I will check my filtered comments. I do not moderate this channel
The intro is giving me Dan Bell vibes 😉 Nice to see another explorer doing these kind of stylized content.
UPDATE : First they didn't have less than 5 days, they had less than 6 months to move out (lease was expired). The base closed in 1998 and was open and rented out to 88 families under short term leases. The familes did get a pention out and try to stop it unfortunately to no avail, last family left in Dec 2017. The company who bought it out to turn the lans in condominiums fall through. In 2021 it was then bought by a private investor who is known to have done quite well in turning around formal military hosuing. Also side note, rule of thumb to any urban explorer - take only memories, leave only footprints 11:18
Looks like the. Backrooms but a k mart
I used to work there as a front desk clerk (Sep 2006-May 2007), and it was a beautiful place in a state of gradual disrepair. I also played my first two music gigs there, as a brand new performer. It is sad to see it in such a dilapidated condition. A wise investor could turn it into a wonderful and profitable hotel again, though it would obviously need a ton of TLC. 😢
It has unfortunately been completely demolished now
I wanna explore this place so badly again I used to go there all the time when I was a kid
Hey yooo!! I don’t know if you remember mee.. but we used to talk when that Fredrick towne mall used to be “open” for us explorers!! Did you happen to go back there recently?? Apparently it was open for about 2 days..
