Definitely want to start working with these, i already work with aquatherm and hydros but this one looks less annoying if they can get the weight slimmer like the new Rheems

What this video doesn't tell you is that the Navien NPE-210A units made before 2016 are unable to set the parameters necessary to use the Navicirc correctly. There's no disclaimer about that and they claim that all the NPE A units can use the Navicirc but you're unable to set the parameter to 17 where it needs to be- the 210A only goes up to twelve. My plumber just installed one for me and the only way that it works is if the pump inside the unit runs constantly. He had to put the check valve in the line instead of right on the unit because he was afraid it would burn out the pump eventually from it going on and off. The Navicirc valve closes at 95 degrees. That's just not hot enough for everyday use for your tankless. My unit is 10 years old and the only way I could get that valve to work like it's supposed to would be to install a new controller board and it's not worth it. I'll just keep turning it off at night and run it during the day to try to save energy but it's also gonna fire a few times when it first starts up. The whole thing is a mess because they don't have a disclaimer about the units made before 2016. That's a little dishonest.

The Nat gas one in my detached garage for the washing machine works FABULOUSLY! About $3-4 a MONTH for gas washing two-three "HOT" loads weekly or 35 CENTS a load (less than European/Chinese/Japanese "pay" tankless units cost for a bath/shower). It cost to buy and have installed less than a QUARTER of a now "mandatory" 50 gallon tank gas water heater. In Tulsa, OK, it's illegal to install a new LESS than 50 gallon gas or 75 gallon electric or 100 gallon "heat pump".

Since the cold water line is now being used as the return line in the circulation flow, opening the cold water spout might flow out hot? How exactly does this affect the cold water flow if someone turns on the cold water while this is recirculating?

Would be helpful to show venting for back to back configuration.

I just installed a Jnod electric combi that has a built in heater for instant hot water.

a correction is needed: at 3:26 he says "all models offer flexible operation, with either Natural Gas or Liquid Propane." Nope. These are NOT field convertible. There is no conversion kit in the unit. You have to order the right one from the start. And no one carries the conversion kit locally. Has to be shipped in from Navien. I just found out the hard way.

If this is not supplying dhw what exactly is the point? Minimum efficiency across canada is 96% for any new gas furnace and higher is available if that extra 1.8 is what you need. Seems like a solution looking for a problem. By the way, I very much enjoy your combi boilers.

The navien water heater is great /navicir valves are junk nothing but trouble. Navien customer service was zero help. Valve howls and bangs switched it out for the Watts premier sensor valve p#367010 problem solved and valve was cheaper.

With this Navi-circ valve, would the cold water not be warm as well? If the valve doesn't close until its at 95F, while the re-circ pump is running, will that not affect the water temp of the cold? Someone may want a glass of water from any fixture in the line and get potentially 94F water.

If the unit was able to heat domestic hot water as well would be great. One unit that can serve as a whole house furnace and water heater would also be ideal for these smaller house builds where large mechanical rooms no longer exist.

Had the tankless water heater installed 2 weeks ago. Our old large tank water heater got us hot water in 10 seconds in the morning. This tankless system takes 45 seconds!!! For 27 years we never had a problem showering and running a tap, now we do. These tankless systems do not deliver on their promise. Wish we never had it installed.

I have a plumber telling me these valves only last about 2 years. This true? Plus he is saying they dont work as fast as a direct line b/c of the pipe size. He quoted $650 for valve recirc and $850 for the direct line recirc

This system will match great with a heat pump coil. We are peak gas furnace in 2024 - I think this marks the beginning of the rein of "hydronic boiler furnaces" (or whatever these things should be called)

My NPE-A2 ran perfectly fine using the recirculating system until the end of December. Unit was installed in the late fall of 2022. Now, in either recirculation mode, it no long works, pumping only at a minimum rate, taking 5 minutes or more to get water temp to the set 125 degree temperature. The Navien recirculating valve is installed by our dealership that sold us the tankless. They cannot figure out what the problem is. They claim the pump is working properly, and it does until they leave my home. I'm getting really frustrated and need help. No one has offered to replace the pump or the control board to see if that could be a problem. It is still under warranty. Please help me.

It might make some sense to make the unit connectable to a DWH tank. Moreover, if a cooling coil is added does the heater have the ability to protect the heating coil from freezing?

Ironic that they use a Nest thermostat in this video, meanwhile nest apparently is not compatible with Navien

Trying to find a solution for the NPE-240a with external recirculation line. The unit was installed over 2 years ago, and dip switch setting is Sw1 & 2 are both on for Intelligent mode. Over the past 6 months, when the recirculation pump turns on, I get pipe tapping noise (like air in line), and are trying to figure out how to fix it. The unit was installed with all PEX lines and insulated. Additionally I wanted to ask if it's okay to lower the pump run time to 10 minutes vs. the default 20 minutes. Thanks in advance for your support.
