Sounds like your system froze up on you. I retired years ago and have no idea why or how you lost everything but you might try using some of the hacks listed in the description and comments to manually unfreeze it.

I like the guy’s description below that I just cracked a beer after getting off the golf course and started jamming. Close but walking dogs and smoking bud lol

Thanks and I will do my best to ride it out. Kind of got in the habit of saying the eff word when I screw up practicing at home and it’s bleeding over to the jams.

Sync wasn’t real user friendly back in the day. I made this video a long time ago and retired from car sales 4 years ago so I am out of the loop as far as new hacks but I listed some in the description and you can scroll through the comments to find some to manually unfreeze your system.

My 20 Ecosport will act up once a year or so and it works every time but eventually the software updates may make it go away. You never know or at least I don’t. Glad it helped you out and please subscribe if yo can. Take care.

Sounds like you have a module issue of some kind but until the techs run a diagnosis you’re guessing. You might try a couple of things to manually unfreeze the system but not sure if they would work on the newer software but you used to be able to take off the battery cables, hold the ends together for 15 seconds and then reattach to the battery. The other one entailed taking out the fuse that runs sync and after a minute reinstalling it.

Ford either took it away or call it system default now, sorry can’t be more specific but I am retired from the business.

No problem and my Ecosport will freeze up once a year or so and I just do the hack and it’s good to go so you may have to do the same. Glad it helped you out and please be kind to someone!

I am not a tech and made this video years ago. I have no idea how to help you. Sorry but hope you find someone who can.

Some models don’t have sync as a standard feature and all the phone button does is mute the stereo. Do you have a little badge that says Sync by Microsoft near the gear shifter? If so you have it and you most likely have a system that is frozen up. Read some of the hacks listed in the description and see if you can manually unfreeze it.

The truck sold years ago. Please look at the date a video was uploaded and if it’s been more than a month the vehicle has probably been sold.

Are you sure you have Sync? It was an option on early models and if you didn’t have it all the phone button did was mute the stereo. Usually there’s a thing that says Sync by Microsoft by the gearshift.

Try it again because I had it not want to work one time and I tried again and it worked. I have used it several times since then but the last time was about a year or so ago. .

Assuming the vehicle has sync you can try to do a master reset of the system and see if that helps. I linked a video I shot on how to do it above

Sorry but I made the video to show folks how to reset sync and don’t know how to fix radio issues. I do know that aftermarket radios that offer Bluetooth are available and that might be your cheapest fix. You can try to use some of the hacks I listed to manually unfreeze a sync system but you might have a bad module that controls your radio and sync system.

Amazing how bad of a design it was and somehow thinking hitting return to access the submenu was okay.

I retired a couple of years ago so a lot has changed since. Ford no longer gives free software updates on the original Sync systems, you have to get it at dealers. You can try some of the hacks listed in the description or comments but even if you get it unfrozen you’ll still need to pay to upgrade the software.

You might be screwed and the module that runs it died or it is frozen up. There are some hacks you can try to manually reset it. I listed them above.

They took away the reboot option or call it a default but I retired and don’t know why for sure.
