I SAW TEX RITTER ON STAGE AT THE SMOOT IN 1949 !

There was still a Five and Dime store in my town when I was a kid in the early 1980s. I remember the candy counter and the same type of scale as that one and I'd always get a little brown paper bag of chocolate covered raisins. I also remember one time getting a puzzle of the USA states in there as a kid. I can still remember how those old wooden floors would creak as you walked on them. How I wish those places existed today.

It reminds me of Yummy's in Kittery,ME.

Absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of my Mom who used to decorate her 1869 Victorian to the nines back in the day. She passed away in January but I'm sure she's smiling down on this beautiful Christmas display.

My son and I hiked this lake before it was filled by water and I got to tell him where our original family was. Also Volcano. I'm so glad for for you doing these videos.

As a boy scout I helped with the dig the mansion out of the dirt. I worked on the sternwheeler Mary B. serving whiskey and hot dogs that ran to the island. If you go there take your bicycle. Bikes are also available for rent.Awsome island.

O' man, was that not a trip down memory lane. O' by the way, I am the grandson of Orval and Vera Hawkins. My grandfather owned a small grocery store across the street from it. He was at one time mayor of Harrisville. I'm the oldest son of Hazel Hawkins (Robinson).

Reconstructed, yes, but not to any degree authentic to the original plan. Which was not something that could have been avoided. The archeological dig clearly showed the original layout of the mansion to amazing detail. The decision to build something not even remotely akin to the original appearance of the house makes going to see what was a very important historical site pointless.

That's boutique. Real 5/10 were cheap as crap. Front part of my store were those flat bins and the back half of the store was pegboard plastic crap. Nails to cheap japanese toys. Musty too. That was 1979.
