Ohio Hawg Chasers Custom Rod rebuild. This was an old zebco hawg seeker rod that I stripped down, repainted ( 2 tone hot pink and metallic charcoal) and added all new guides and wraps. Ohio Hawg Chasers had another awesome day by the water. We went carp fishing again! We met the "Carp King" and enjoyed fishing with him all day! We definitely learned alot from him. Found a 12” curved spike last year. Vultures picked it clean. Basically just ripped off the rest and hung it on the garage. Few weeks later saw picked up a smaller spike that was out on the road for a very long time. Not good. Full of maggots and nasty stuff. Didn’t have any time so I put it the back yard. I guess some animals had other ideas. Something took it away. Oh well. Just found a 6 pointer I have to go grab. Thanks for the video

Next time soak it in water for a couple days and the Hyde will come off super easy then you won't have to simmer it that long. Great job though 👍

That was most likely a buddy that lives in ky unless this wasn't recent. We haven't been to ky in a while
That's a paddlefish it's not a sturgeon not allowed to own them they are considered a protected species
Better look again! One is a paddlefish and all the rest are sturgeon. Maybe a trout in there as well. And this is at a Fish Farm sir!

What would you do if it’s a dead head with no meat? Thanks
If it has no meat at all then I would start with the peroxide process. If it has any kind of meat or skin left at all I would atleast give it a small simmer first. I have also learned If you let it sit in the sun with peroxide in warm Temps, the peroxide will work better and faster at whitening
