Yo, check it, homie. Lemme break down this NextJS and Drupal stuff for ya, straight no chaser: NextJS is like that turbo boost for your regular React brew, ya dig? It's got that extra punch that'll have your website flowin' smooth. Now Drupal, that's your classic 40oz - been around, gets you where you need to go. But mix it with NextJS? That's when you're really cookin'. Here's what NextJS brings to the party: Server-side rendering - like pre-gaming before you hit the club. Your pages load quick, search engines love it. API routes - smooth like that first cold sip, connecting your React front-end to your PHP back without no hassle. You're basically mixing up a mean cocktail here. Drupal's handling all that content like a boss, while NextJS is serving it up fast and fresh. It's like upgrading from that corner store 40 to some premium stuff, know what I'm saying? Your site's gonna be lit, loading fast and looking slick. Wanna dive deeper into this mix, or you good to start pouring?
was this AI generated? I made me less convinced than I already was 😅
@@LorenzoGiovenali heh, no i always talk like a malt liquor commercial when dealing with hard or boring subjects... Just playing around. NextJs really is one of the best ways forward for Drupal. And the Next for Drupal project has done some really great foundational work, try it out.
I still see Navigation under "Experimental"
How do I use this? composer require 'drupal/preview_link:^2.1@alpha'
Thank you :)
Hearing matt being excited about workspaces is extremely exciting.
Fave thing in DDEV. I think it's the xdebug integration. Not only how *Fast* it enables, but how easily I can use xdebug to breakpoint not just Drupal, but also phpunit tests and drush commands.
Thank you :)
What's drupal?
Thank you :)
Are there serious performance concerns compared to role-based access?
There is the superior ckeditor5_plugin_pack_text_transformation (submodule of ckeditor5_plugin_pack) that already does this, but also with sensible toggable defaults and a text area to set custom transformations from the UI at /admin/config/content/formats/manage/[format]
15:00 When i need to work on some issue branch i work on issue branch and do not fork any main repo because i do not need. The flow when i want to contribute is - create issue - in issue there is a button to easily create issue repo and get access - add issue repo to my folder and checkout version tag that match my website - create issue branch push all my changes - create mr/pr to main repo's corresponding tag. like 3.x or 4.x etc.
Other than the amazingly simplified questions by John, I really like how Brian explains things in a simplified way. It's always great to listen to Brian. 🎉
Thank you :)

Thank you, super interesting as always

Hi, wonderful episode, lots of great insight. One note: can be added to the notes link? It would allow to open it easier, thanks.
Good that you mention .gitignore file .gitignore stuff cp web/example.gitignore web/.gitignore Create ./.gitignore with: Create ./.gitignore with: /vendor /web/core /web/modules/contrib/ /web/themes/contrib/ /web/profiles/contrib/ /web/libraries/ *.sql.gz Thank you for these series. it enriches the knowledge. BTW: Chad looks like James Hetfield when he has long hair :)
It's good that you mention PHPCodeSniffer can be added not (installed) in VSCode or use drupal core dependencies. Thank you for that.
Many thanks for this recommendation. I will definitely give it a try. Simplyfiing unit tests would be a huge win 🎉
@Michael Anello Thank you for this interview. I was listening yesterday on my way driving back home to Apple podcast and I found Talking Drupal with Oliver Davies. And I was thinking who's behind this podcast :) Thank you man for being everywhere :)
Very insightful episode. Thanks so much. I am glad I am not the only one not impressed with the current state of AI in our industry despite all the marketing hype.
Thank you for sharing this information with us, very helpful.
Thank You!
This is a great idea for a series! As a d6/d7 dev who knows a lot of other devs around that time, I know there has been some stagnation in upgrading their skill sets past D7.
Thank You!
Thanks for listening. You are welcome.
Thank you :)
Always appreciate your Thank You!
Looking forward to following along. Today I Learned I'm definitely not alone in the Mechanical Engineering to Computer Science path to Drupal. 😂
Saw a lot of crossover here myself! Also following to see what develops (pun intended!)😊

I’m a developer who has used countless CMS’s over the years. I was recently thrown into building a Drupal site from scratch and it’s been awful. The most stressed out I’ve been to meet deadlines and the absolute lack of information on how Drupal should be built. Everything out there is from years ago about Drupal 7, or there’s literally nothing available to get you started on simple things like building a module or implementing what a block should do or details around when to use a view. Where do you go to just get started with it? I’ve tried looking for tutors, groups, etc.
Thanks the prompt ingeneering guide is the great aspect.
Thanks guys, that was another really informative podcast
This was such an excellent discussion. As a group, you uncovered and deftly explained the ins, outs, capabilities, extensibility, and projected future of this very elegant but also extremely robust ECA module. Most importantly (imo), you discussed what could/should be done with a different tool. I would recommend this video to anyone in any field that includes building new things and integrating with existing things. Even more strongly, I would recommend this video to ALL Drupalists, regardless of whether they end up using the ECA module. It is a fantastic model for how to effectively interview someone to find the most important information AND for how to be an impactful interviewee, ensuring that all of the essentials and more are covered and comprehensible. You have a new subscriber. Thank you.
Hey Thanks to CZcams recommendations, I just found your podcast episode on AI and reaching new heights, and it's truly enlightening. Your exploration of AI's transformative power resonates deeply with the theme of building hope and personal encouragement on my channel. I just liked and subscribed. Keep inspiring us with your empowering insights
So, I download and install Drupal v10 and install it on my Ubuntu Apache server and... it's not working. Ok so I will download and install Drupal v9 it and... it's not working. How can I recommend this over WordPress to anyone? I'm not an noobie - 15 years of Linux and 3 years of Ecommerce!
Thank you :)
