So what happened to other First Oven video?
Big up Lifeboat!
Nell looks better brunette
Great as usual!! But after seeing the Letterboxed list of films for this season, I can't believe there's no double bill of Gremlins, best horror xmas comedy creature feature, with best metacommentary horror sequel (along with Scream 2). Thanx!!!
OMG I was listening when a seagull literally flew into the lounge window. I jumped about 6 feet in the air.
Australian here..I developed an anaphylactic allergy to ticks, which led to an anaphylactic allergy to mammalian foods - Alpha-gal syndrome. Ticks are 2-3mm - it's the little things that count 😆
Everyone who worked on and in this movie is a joy. I can’t hype this film up enough for everybody.
Good to see Renny back in the horror genre
I don’t understand why the remake is boring, but part 1 and 3 are the best ones? I honestly sort of find that bro horror is a guilty pleasure, and unlike a lot of 80s guilty pleasures is actually entertaining and not boring as shit. Would rather watch Cabin Fever over Pieces. Part 4 and 6 are excellent tho and should be better regarded in the 80s horror canon
Not gonna lie, I ordered the book while I was listening to this:)
This series is so great !
What if there's a body count and kills, but without the morality and final girl? Because I have seen slashers that don't have a final girl or teach life lessons. Because that is way scarier, no matter how good of a person you are you are still a fragile human.
🇫🇮
After seeing the trailer a few times whilst seeing The Omen, Immaculate, Late Night With Devil I'm convinced the it's gonna have a twist where the female protagonist ends up becoming one of the Strangers. Made my own movie up in my head 😂
Folk horror is my favorite type of horror. It's the creepiest & most unsettling imo.
This was great! It helps me enjoy a film so much more when I understand the language the director and writers are using.
The best part of The Bay is when they are outside and all around they can hear random people screaming in pain in the distance. We know what it is, but they don't. Bone chilling, yet extremely simple and inexpensive.
Movie flopped 😂
After living in Australia for 10 years with Huntsman spiders the size of my hand, I've learned to love spiders. They do so much good work keeping pests like cockroaches down.
When H. R. Giger designed the ALIEN facehugger, he worked from what it was supposed to do. It was essentially designed to put eggs into a victim and hold on until the victim is impregnated...so it's basically a cock and balls with fingers and a tail , intended to put the cock down the throat and fire a load, then hold on until the job's done.
Finally! I'll be listening at work tomorrow 🥰
God is good, the devil is bad, that was nicely updated... dude what
When she said it would’ve been a crime to modernize it too much that just shows just how much she loves and respects the original and the source material. I mean, it’s honestly very awesome to see an actress like Nell Tiger free who isn’t like every other actress in Hollywood these days who are self-centered and egotistical and not respectful towards the source material. It’s just awesome to know that this film was a passion project for her and I could really tell in her performance that she really wanted to do this because I really feel like she poured her heart and soul into this movie, especially when the scene when Damien has a baby is like growing in her stomach and she’s going nuts. She genuinely did a good job of making that scene so disturbing.
Finally saw this almost perfect movie the other day. The benefit of seeing new horror films is getting to subsequently listen to more episodes of this lovely podcast. 🏚️
Nell Jackal Free was amazing in this movie 😅
Nell is the sweetest kindest person you could ever be graced to work with and so professional.. unbelievably talented.. I can’t even …
To all the people who loved this movie, what was exactly scary? I watched the whole thing and there wasnt once a moment of tension
Its based on people, i think you have advanced thinking
Brit Marling
Omg yaaaaaaas and w black hair Alexandra daddario
J'adore 😊
I know you're not supposed to say these things but Nell really is a stunning woman physically. In the film itself she plays a character that is fresh faced and wears little make-up - it makes such a welcome difference to see a woman not be constrained by a thick layer of artifice that allows her face to breathe naturally. Purely from an acting perspective she puts in a very strong performance and takes full command of her screen-time. I'm sure she has fulfilled the imaginations of the director and screenwriters for when they were originally creating the role and the film overall is a success, in my opinion, on the back of this performance. Nell, if you happen to end up reading this comment - stay humble and don't fall into the trap of feeling compelled to become a superstar which I am sure was never your intention as you started out in your career. Always allow yourself the patience to grow as a person and you may end up having a very fine career.
Good movie.
Finally... I saw a really creepy horror movie in recent times. Loved "The First Omen".
Must watch Classic block Buster shot movie don't miss in theatres
I just love how the interviewer is trying to send her down the woke route & she has none of it. Especially when asked about a female director. I watched it last night & was amazed how seamless it is with the original. Amazing performance also. Oscar worthy! That scene when she steps out of the car (I won't spoil) was incredible. I was in awe of her performance. It was chilling.
"I've retired from pressure" Love that.
Film much better than the trailer let’s on.
tiger free good looks never heard her too much before
She's amazing 🤩
If you don't know this beautiful, talented, young actress, I definitely suggest you to watch the AppleTv+ serie "Servant" by M.Night Shyamalan, where Nell Tiger Free is one of the main characters, Leanne, the shy, weird, sensible Jericho's baby-sitter, awesome indeed ! So, 4 seasons of "Servant" is waiting for enjoying you !
Just came home from the cinema. It was a great movie, and the acting was amazing. Very refreshing after that horrible Exorcist reboot film.
When I watched the exorcist believer trailer into the 15 seconds I knew was shite😂😂 no curiosity in watching it
Wow, Myrcella Baratheon has grown so incredibly since Game of Thrones!! 😮
she looks so different now..prefer her GOT young appearance
@@alphaomega9387noncey comment there... 🤔
What about Sônia Braga in this film?
I haven't watched the video. I saw the thumbnail and it said, "The First Oven" and I went, WTF?! Then I read the small print............. 😂😂😂
Why is this interview Free? Aren't they all?
😂Free is her last name
Very much looking forward to watching this. Great interview! Thanks.
I just watched it. IT was amazing! Indeed, they were very respectful to the original movies. Bill Nighy is at the level as Sir Peter Cushing. I didn't know Nell Tiger Free was English until I saw this video. IF you have not seen it yet, I strongly recommend it IF your a fan of the Omen movies.
How were they respectful of the original, changing some of the plots in the original movie !! Total moron's, again ,gaslighting a crap film , This was the most predictable movie I ever saw in a long time If you didn't see the nun's collar, then maybe this is for you
The original Omen from 1976 is much better than the Exorcist.
Nah the exorcist is amazing 🤩
@@ronaldmcdonaldjunior6616 Question of opinion...The Exorcist is too insular as a film (all set within the girls bedroom) and didn't scare me at all and the deaths weren't particularly frightening either.
@@nicky29031977 internet trolling will begin later in life
@@ronaldmcdonaldjunior6616 The Exorcist is very good, but The Omen series is great.
@@nicky29031977 nah I disagree but j cole just apologized
Let us not forget the Underworld series, those were incredibly horrific
And the Robert Englund version of Phantom of the Opera.
And I, Frankenstein (even though that was unsuccessful) , he played a thunderously terrifying demon in that.
@@prithvirajbasu4196 Funnily enough, his character in that, Naberious, was also the Judeo-Christian equivalent of the Greek Mythological Three-Headed Hellhound Cerberus.
Awesome interview!! I recently finished watching all of their movies and The Endless really stuck with me. Glad I found this!
This video is so helpful to a college project im making about folk horror
I think you guys would really, really enjoy Terrorscape and Folklore: the Affliction. Some of my other favorite Horror themed board games (in no particular order) include Abomination: Heir of Frankenstein, The Bloody Inn, Marvel Zombies, Cthulhu Death May Die, Damnation: the Gothic Game, Float: From the Deep, Spire's End, Resident Evil (the first one, 2 and 3 are not that great) and Shadows of Brimstone. Special shout out to Nemesis, which was mentioned, but not by name, Final Girl, Horrified, and Escape the Dark Castle, which I love too and are also in my collection. I'd have to say that horror games are rarely actually scary, but the best ones definitely are able to induce a setting of dread and anxiety/stress while playing!
He watched Pet Semetery when he was SIX? Who the hell took him to see that?
I think the Existential horror trend started after Columbine when directors had to step away from gore and J-Horror rose in popularity because it relied more on atmosphere and dread. When it was ok to put blood again on movies, some continued the asthetics and tone of japanese films, but mixed with western themes and sensibilities. I'm perfectly fine with the label, even though I know some people use it to undermine other movies or to excuse themselves for liking horror films. I think it's important to separate the auteur, stand alone, meditative, trascendental movies from the mainstream, franchise, exploitation driven ones. I love them both and I don't see why we can have more terms to lure casual fans into the greatness of the genre. Horror comedies used to be the usual gateway, and now "existential horror" is an easier way for millenials and GenZ to get into scary movies. Great discussion, but ironically, I think it could have been a little deeper. Thanx!!!
