Hey! I’m surprised no one has commented on this video yet! I’ve watched dozens of these step challenge videos over the past few weeks and a few observations I’d like to make about yours: 1) You did it entirely outdoors on real and varied terrain, with exposure to the elements. Kudos to all of you as I know that prolonged hikes tend to lose their novelty after the first 10 miles, so congrats for that. Too many of these step challenge videos feature people utilizing treadmills or just walking up and down their hallways. It really takes some of the excitement away when you know there is a fully stocked refrigerator within feet, or a comfy couch to plop down on for a half hour while taking selfie’s. Again, what you all did cannot be overstated. 2) You did it as a group and thus had a shared experience. That right there is golden. There are far too many you tubers out there who, while they are legitimately making a genuine effort, one tends to come away with the notion that the challenge was secondary to the “likes, comments, and subscribes” that are usually solicited at the beginning (sometimes middle) and end of these kinds of videos. It’s a very Hollywood way of doing things and well, I guess different strokes for different folks. So I really applaud the rawness of your footage. You were all just being yourselves, no scripted nonsense and again, it was SO nice to see that you shared in this challenge together. One day, when you’re all pushing 50 (like I am) you’ll be able to watch this video and remember what hell you all went through. I know I’ve written close to a chapter here on your video, but I really was deeply moved by your collective effort. To be honest, I only stumbled on it because I searched “150000 steps in one day” to see if there was actually some psycho out there that could out walk all the other posters who’ve made 100000 step challenge videos. When I saw that this was a group effort, I almost did not watch it because I was looking specifically for a solo effort and was thinking “well if it takes 5 people to add up to 150000 steps, that doesn’t fit the bill for what I’m searching for...” But the country roads you traversed, the quirky gas stations, the banter back and forth...top notch stuff! I implore you though, if you ever take on this challenge again please bring enough sunscreen and be mindful of the heat. My dad once spent an entire day working out in his yard on a hot Tennessee day and he first met with heat exhaustion, then Pneumonia. It took him weeks (and several trips to the doctor) to recover. With that said, I hope your friend made a fast and full recovery. In conclusion (if any of you or your friends are still reading this) I just want to say that this is among the very best videos I have watched on CZcams.
