What happened to the great Rudy Pompilli on sax
Rudy Pompilli sax player of the year by Down Beat Magazine in 1957 died from longcancer (he was not a smoker himself) and is believed to have contacted the diseas through passive smoking. He died the 5th of February 1975.

Forgive me for being terribly biased, but there's no film like Rock around the clock and even after 66 years, this film is still the BEST. Both See you later alligator and Rock a beatin boogie dance sequences have stood the test of time. Lovely Lisa Gaye literally carries the film on her delicate shoulders, aided, of course, by the music of Bill Haley & His Comets, The Platters and Earl Barton's fancy footwork, who incidentally choreographed the dance sequences. Please, please, please CZcams bring out this entire film in AI 5 K colorized - fully restored. A big thank you in advance.

Hello Hanna. I will inform you that Joe Turner and Bill Haley were friends. Joe performed in the Bill Haley and his Comets Australian tour in 1957.
I remember all those great tunes from the early '50's, but what did it for me was when my parents took me to see the movie BLACKBOARD JUNGLE staring GLENN FORD, the theme song for the movie was ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK when I heard that song it sent goose bumps up & down my spine, I KNEW i had to do that, I started taking guitar lessons & played in several bands late '50's early '60's

Mn moeder is in de jaren 60 geboren . en zij is nog met paard en kar verhuisd toen ze 6 jaar oud was het was wel in een zeer klein dorp maar dit kan ik mij helemaal niet voorstellen
mensen zeuren over de muziek maar ik vind t wel grappig. als je het echte commentaar had gewild moet je maar nederlands instituut beeld en geluid kijken haha

Vraiment! Je ne parlais pasfrancais tres bien, alors changeais a anglais. I came to Canada 51 years ago and when I read and hear Dutch it irritates me how many English words are used. En niet alleen in het Nederlands! Te veel landen zijn ge-amerikaniseerd en verliezen hun kultuur en karakter. Praat je moerstaal!
