Excellent film footage and sound.
Boa noite !!!!!! O mais belo da história da Aviação. O barulho do motor é como música para os meus ouvidos. Lindo demais....... Muito obrigado pelo vídeo e parabéns pelo canal. Abraço do Brasil......
Lovely bird 🦢
I like the colours of the the aircraft. And the sound on takeoff. Is there any wartime history of this particular aircraft?
One door is missing.
Great Job Tobias

Le fameux avion des cartoons américains
Wow! What a beautifully preserved plane. The colors are stunning. Good job!
Wow, no door ? In Iceland?? Hope the pilot didn’t get hypothermia🌬❄️☃️
After 2000 hrs and 12 different airplanes, rarely did I ever have to restart after 8 blades
Hi mate! Would it be possible for me to use this amazing footage in a small documentary I'm making about the DC-3? Thanks so much!
'Hellqvist' sounds better.
Poor handling of camera at taking off
My first flight was in 1947 as a passenger on one of Captain Eddie's converted C-47s.
I hate otisum khanki sayma yoajed potol
Beautiful! Also the livery, and the engine-color! Why is this plane so much more appealing than other comparable planes, even like Curtiss C46 and Viking, Saab 90A and many more? proportions are more balanced I think.
now to flight
is not in doors
airplane with of doors in flight
Hello, I would like to buy one, can you help me, how much is it, how many people you can afford, and how many kilometers you travel
██▌█▌▌███▌
No cargo bay door great job
\(Õ-Õ)/ - what? /:| | |
Be nice if they can find a cargo hatch for it. I was stationed at Naval Air Station Keflavik in 1971 and the US Navy had a DC3 that they used to haul groceries back and forth to some microwave site on the north coast of Iceland. I recall it was the last navy aircraft with an enlisted pilot, a Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate. It was also missing the cargo hatch. That is probably the same plane. We probably gave it to them when we closed the base. But I guess it didn't matter since the plane wouldn't go much over 100 kts anyway.
God bless you Iceland! I flew Iceland Air in '87, but never expected this. Great job!
I believe that if Donald Douglas were still alive today, he would probably be proud to know that thousands of examples of his DC-3, ALMOST 100 YEARS AFTER IT WAS DESIGNED, are still around all over the world earning their daily wage. like the old saying goes " The only thing to replace a dc-3 with is ANOTHER dc-3"
I wouldn't say there are thousands left but there are maybe a couple of hundred still flying or flyable. A few are still in revenue service but most are exhibition flyers.
Hey your cargo door.......oh nevermind.!
OHHH the sound...too bad we do not have smell-a-vision yet!...Damn that is one well cared for bird!

Beautiful 👍
Amazing sound, you can hear the low base tone and the hum of the engine all at once.
Love it! Wish I was in the cockpit, awesome vibrations of engines
And with some modern electronics and engines,,,,, they'll be around for another 80 years!
you dont need so goddamn many commas
@@uv-al It doesn't hurt to be nice you know.
@@wrightflyer7855 i really hate certain things. That is one of them. Its like spamming useless emojis. Its just... Ugh.
@@uv-al I know what you mean, but I have to remember many people that comment are used to speed writing with their thumbs, using abbreviations that require a "special" online dictionary to decipher. I grew up in the '50s and '60s when we actually had to learn to spell, but it's a different world today. Correcting someone won't make them a better writer, and for me it's just not worth the effort.
Just Awesome Plane
That's one good looking C-47.
Great looking plane; But. don't all Is'land air planes have a bar in the back?
dude your fucking grammar is shit it should be Great looking plane, but.. Don't all Icelandair planes have a back in the back?
That's a beautiful sight!
Pruttle & Wilny?
Why did he take off with the cargo door open?
Victor Nunez Because he were going to drop skydivers, so we dismantled the door to make it easier over drop zone
Hella va good sound!
