We put landscape fabric around a pallet and filled it with herbs and flowers. Great portable garden! Just make sure you check the pallet to make sure the wood hasn't been treated.

How to Drain Water from a Fuel Filter (Diesel-RV)
zhlédnutí 99KPřed 10 lety
mahoneysontour.com mahoneysontour Here's a quick tutorial on how to drain water from your fuel filter (Fuel/Water Separator). The RV that we are demonstrating this on is a 1996 Monterey Beaver, Diesel Pusher. This is something that should be done after each fuel fill up. It is important to do this because a diesel engine fuel system relies on the diesel for lubrication, and if wate...

    why would you warm up the engine in order to drain some fuel ? doesn't make sense to me.

    As far as it's possible you should try to rehearse your videos. Know exactly what you're going to say and what you're going to show. Otherwise it will look clumsy and amateurish. Watching you try to unscrew that cap was painful.

    Yes, if you do any radiator work, you'll find that 'petcock' is the common name for the 'drain' valve. Hint: Use nitrile gloves when messing around with diesel fuel.

    Dude at 1:22 I see your WATER TEMP gauge...left side, next to tachometer. I can see it says 160, 180, 200....operating temp should about 185-190 deg F. Excessive idling isn't good for these engines. I have a '96 Safari Serengeti 38' Cat 3126 Allision 6 spd coach....but yours is the ONLY video I've seen with regards to the fuel separation filter.....kudos! I have a somewhat more elaborate filter/water separator, but essentially the function is the same.

      @woodman1241 Před 6 lety

      QuantumRift idling doesn't hurt any diesel engine dude lol

      @@woodman1241 That is absolutely false. Cylinder washing via excessive idling is a significant issue with diesel engines

      @woodman1241 Před 5 lety

      @@TheSonicendeavor ive been around tractors and trucks my entire life. Tractors idle alot. Some have over 14000 hours. No damage from idling lol

    • @billnehls5462
      @billnehls5462 Před 5 lety

      woodman1241 My Cummins iSL9 manual specifically addresses this issue stating: Idle the engine 3 to 5 minutes at 1,000 rpm before operating with a load. No more than 5 minutes. Do not operate the engine at idle for long periods This can result in the following (these are well known and documented issues) • Fuel dilution of the lubricating oil • Carbon buildup in the cylinder • Cylinder head valve sticking • Reduced performance.

      Excessive idling isn’t good for ANY engines you dummies. Seriously, the only dumb hicks you see leaning on their steering wheels or leaving their rigs on is because they are dumb hicks. Once an engine is warm it’s duty cycle includes mainly load and infrequent idling. There is and ignition switch that operates very easily to start and stop warm engine’s very easily. You’ll save a significant amount of pollution and resources which is a positive too. We all know of the damage that particulates do to young human bodies. Why would someone add to that for no useful reason. Again, dumb hicks.

    2 things.. Adding a good additive like stanodyne summer or winter blend depending on the season helps a lot. 2) if you are really worried about water, add a FASS type system. Not cheap, but works really well......
