    Si ma non è la stessa cosa fare un autoesame dell'addome, con la propia mano è sempre piu' semplice, mentre la mano estranea puo' alterare la percezione oppure puo' rendere l'addome non trattabile, ma non perche' il paziente ha dolore ma perche' non è abituato a sentire mani estranee che gli toccano la pancia, oppure perche' soffre il solletico, per cui esistono molte variabili nella pratica.

    Hi. Thankyou for the great videos. I have two questions. 1). I see some nurses use simple face masks while administering 3 or 4 liters. My understanding was that simple face masks require a minimum of 6 liters oxygen otherwise the oatient is at risk for inhaling his CO2 . 2) For COPD patients in acute distress with sats in 60s and 70s i have seen them Yreated with 10 plus liters during urgent situations while they are awaiting transport to ER. Is this harmful to them? Thank you again

    • @NurseMinder
      @NurseMinder Před 12 dny

      Great questions. The simple mask used at lower levels may be for patient comfort - there will be a pathway for exhaled air to escape - and the literature does recommend at least 6L/min flow to “flush” out CO2; that said always monitor the patient for effectiveness. COPD patients may need 10 plus litres to restore levels to their safe levels; the physician will set the target sat level for your patient

    I had an accident when I was around 9-10 yrs old. I hit the back of my head to a hard wooden chair and drop to the concrete floor and loss consciousness for several hours with only one of my schoolmates waiting for me to wake up. I was never diagnosed. I'm in my 30s now and as someone working in a thinking intensive career, I do notice some of this problems arising more like memory problem and hearing. I was always good academically and have always had a sharp memory. But now the memory problem is severe that my brain seems to filter just very few events in a day and basically I can't remember some information. Hearing problem is the noticeable one and recently my partner has been telling me that m shouting even though I'm not when I speak and I know when people shout it's mostly coz they can't hear themselves which is common with those using headphones. I don't use headphones nor listen much to music. In fact I have a very much quiet life, no headphones 24/7. I decided to search that maybe it had something to do with my accident during my early years. I do have a dent in my skull because of that accident. And it's located just less than 2 inches away from the back of my ear and parallel to spine. If I touch it it's almost 3 inches long dent. My heaf is also a little but tilted and I have problems with my left shoulder.

    Are you able to share what exactly the sensor is measuring? It’s not oxygen, even though that’s what being said here. If you know what the tool is designed to do you’ll have a better time understanding what it’s for and can educate people about this process.

    • @NurseMinder
      @NurseMinder Před měsícem

      A small, electronic device called a pulse oximeter is clipped onto a part of the body, usually a fingertip. The device emits light that passes through the fingernail, skin, tissue, and blood. On the other side of the finger, a sensor detects and measures the amount of light that passes through the finger without getting absorbed by the tissue and blood. Using that measurement, the device calculates the oxygen saturation of the blood. www.yalemedicine.org/conditions/pulse-oximetry

    • @mathewmartin9803
      @mathewmartin9803 Před měsícem

      @@NurseMinder Thanks for the reply. Yale medicine is not attempting to describe what the sensor is actually picking up. Yes, it states that it's oxygen saturation, but the sensor is using light for a calculation based on an electrical signal that comes from a frequency of light. It's measuring the electromagnetic change, not oxygen. That's a huge distinction- massive. Both Yale and you are 'assuming' that this means or is related to oxygen but that would be factually and scientifically incorrect. Those are both opinions, not facts or science. A reply using Wikipedia about the sensor's mechanism might be a better response. This brings back the original question: what exactly is the sensor measuring? Yes, there is a change happening but it's not possible to confirm that its oxygen. You can only assume that. What everyone can confirm is that a change in electrical charge is taking place.

    • @NurseMinder
      @NurseMinder Před měsícem

      Ml per hour is how Iv solutions are infused and programmed on a pump. I am unclear on your question- if you are using 100 ml - and you are infusing it over 30 min, you will program the pump at 200 ml/hour (this insures 100 ml is delivered in 30 min). There is no additional 100 ml to infuse.
