Purely Wicked
Registrace 8. 12. 2007
A collection of the very best legal Wicked videos on CZcams. Videos from my collection are either released for the press, or are taken from performances on television programmes. This makes them not only legal, but also more professional and easier to watch - since the camera angles are much better than just recordings of the show taken from dodgy camcorders!
Defying Gravity (Rachel Tucker performing on "Dancing on Ice')
Rachel Tucker (current UK Elphaba) performing the showstopper, 'Defying Gravity', on ITV1's 'Dancing on Ice' 2011. Obviously, she is accompanied by ice skating which is obviously unusual (and slightly weird if you ask me!) but nether the less, a spectacular performance of a song rarely performed on TV.

Thank you. There are nuances up close, you don't get from the cheap seats 💗
The slowed down "As someone told me lately everyone deserves the chance to FLY!" should've been standard across all production. It's ALWAYS rushed.
Even in 2024 this is the best song in the West End. Probably Broadway too.
There’s something about the way she delivers the line “ to those who ground me take a message back from me” sends chills down my spine
I hope I get to do this one day!!!!
That's so cool😁
You wander off watching other Elphabas, but every now and then you return and are reminded about the incredibleness of Rachel Tucker’s Elphaba of 2010-2011. That is the sort of singing + acting that is unmatched. In the theatre she was captivating, enthralling… just commanded the performance space like nobody else. The flying sequence was magical in a way that I haven’t quite seen it done. The way she ‘levitated’ while blowing this song out of the depths of her soul was breathtaking.
The best elphaba ever
6:15 It sounds like a Mini Explosion in The Down What makes it sound majestic.
The best Elphaba ever❤️❤️
How does Glinda’s bubble work? I would be worried about falling out.
There is a safety wire holding her in. If you pay close attention, whenever she steps down from her bubble or gets up in it, you can see there’s a cast member who comes from behind and attaches her in. That person always then gives her a light pat on the back to tell her she’s been secured (meaning she must not move) or detached (meaning she can now step off).
I like how they do this but why didn’t they use wires for this
To all the wisfits our there love you 😍
360p left for this masterpiece, f*ck CZcams!
RIP Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022
The creepy breathing in the back round and the screech 😆😳😳
Who can you not miss the flying machine when you’re back stage
Remember seeing this and fell in love with the story musical. For people saying the accents don’t suit it’s because it’s not the accent your used to, I remember seeing this in New York and accents ruined it for me as I wasn’t used to the voices but I love it outside of the New York accent
On a bad day she is still better than everyone else
I love this song
I can tell Idina’s vocals are much cleaner here than her performance in the 2003 Tony Awards.
RIP Sean Rice 💔
I actually like the clash of accents
Wrong belting. Hoarse voice.
She is great, her American accent is convincing and she nails the part.
my childhood best friend and i practiced this song and popular for weeks and auditioned for our elementary school talent show. they wouldnt let us do loathing, but they let us do popular. as if telling someone theyre not good enough and you're gonna teach them how to be better liked is any better than an equal hatred, lmfao
3:26
Indina❤💯
bailey sounded so much better(haha) than her and she litreally had 3 months to prepare with no training just saying…
ooh! I got goosebumps!
omg This is how does ELPHAPA defying gravity. amazing.
6:32 idina practically lost her voice😮😮😮
This performance really reminds me of the power of this song. The flight section is so powerfully orchestrated and the power of Idinas vocals are just incredible
Man, this lift is so cool. All it's missing is the iconic beams of light.
I can watch this video all day. Rachel is awesome and I've never seen a dance routine finale quite like that!
0:43 Minha vida é uma ilusão
Stephanie should have originated the role
3:16 "and nobody, in all of Oz..."
Any1 here for music lesson?
I am in love with Stephanie J Block
I remember watching this when it was on tv and i was glued to the tv wanting to see the play... then on my 30th birthday my parents got me tickets 😁❤
Love this Vivian
This is the performance I always come back to. She BECOMES Elphaba...
I’m not fussed on Glinda here. She sounds too old
This video is almost older then me- I’m 14 and it’s just so weird
This was one of the first videos of Defying Gravity I ever saw and it’s what made me fall in love with this musical. The orchestra in this performance is BEYOND amazing 😍 I always come back to it haha
Why is she doinf a british accent?? Its so weird
awsome
juju on that beat
I love her voice!!!
