Lonar Lake, also known as Lonar crater, is a notified National Geo-heritage Monument, saline, soda lake, located at Lonar, 79 km from Buldhana city in Buldhana district, Maharashtra, India.
Lonar Lake is an astrobleme created by a meteorite impact during the Pleistocene Epoch.
It is one of only four known hyper-velocity impact craters in basaltic rock anywhere on Earth.
Lonar Lake has a mean diameter of 1.2 kilometres (3,900 ft) and is about 137 metres (449 ft) below the crater rim. The meteor crater rim is about 1.8 kilometres (5,900 ft) in diameter.
There are fifteen temples in/around Lonar Lake these are, in this video we have covered 5 Temples as below
1. Kumareshwar Temple
2. Yadneshwar Temple
3. Ramgaya Temple
4. Mahadev Ganesh Temple
5. Gomukh Temple
These temples built mostly between the 12th to 14th century represent a continuous tradition of temple architecture, patronized by various dynasties like the later Chalukyas, Yadavas of Deogiri, Marathas, etc.
These temples mostly show plain exteriors and are built by using blocks of basalt.
The temples are dedicated mainly to Lord Ṥhiva, Shree Ram though there are few to other deities too.
Kamalja Devi Temple is one amongst these, dedicated to Ṥhakti, where yearly annual fairs are organised during the festival of Navratra.

Entry Fee - Free (Rs 30 in Protected Forest Area)
Time Required - 3 Hrs (Inclusing All Temples)
