We were in the pub talking about the festival we are going too this weekend and my mate went to the toilet. I looked at the tv in the other room and wondered why there were so many Stones images being broadcast mainly of Charlie, reached for my phone and confirmed what I couldn't read at that distance Charlie was gone. My mate reappeared and I looked at him and just said charlies dead. He stopped in the middle of the room and looked at me and there was the silence of mourning as we stared at each other and then from behind the bar someone said, 'Who's Charlie?' and my mate said 'the Rolling Stones drummer.... ' We will raise a glass at the top of a hill in Lancashire this weekend to a man, who amongst others, is part of one of the reasons we still go to a small Lancashire town to listen to Jazz and Blues. RIP Charlie Watts, you will be missed by millions who didn't really know you but my heart and soul goes out to your family and those who knew you best and the pain in their hearts left by your passing.
