Dipterocarpus bourdillonii: An effort to save a critically Endangered Tree Species
Dipterocarpus bourdillonii is a critically endangered tree. There are only 14 individuals found in Coorg of Karnataka State. This short documentary throws light on this critically endangered species and the effort of Karnataka Forest Department to save it at Sampaje Range of Madikeri Circle.

A very sad and usual beginning to the Monsoons !! Those white spots that you see on the road are road kills of frogs ☹️😣 Monsoon is the breeding season for most of the animals. But again, human intervention is costing their lives. We couldn’t count the number of dead frogs on the road!

Great job by the department. I happened to be in a forest area few years back and I saw some of these lovely seeds. I was very happy to see the seeds. But I could not locate the tree as I was not aware of the kind of tree it is. I brought some of them home. I would like to grow them and plant them in our land in Channarayapatna Taluk. I will give it a sincere try following the video that I have seen of yours. Hope to see some germination. Thanks. Please continue the good work. .
