We bought a Bher water based stain for our lighter oak kitchen cabinet. When I started using the brush, the stain produces an artificial dark lines that keeps adding up on the surface. I was hoping that the stain will just deepens the wood color and its natural wood grains and lines. Should I go oil base stain. Why does the stain is producing a fake or artificial dark lines or webbings on the wood? Are there wood varnish (satin finish) that deepens the color of the oak, but not creat very dark lines?

As some may know, items discontinue and change often, so this would be the most current set up. Once more that is Moen Model 776. We hope you enjoy your new shower spa!

I am going to say plywood is far superior. Particle board just doesn't take moisture at all. Wash your dishes in dishwasher? Oftentimes they still have droplets on them when putting them up. Sliding plates, cups, etc will wear that finish right off. Live in a humid environment? A/C goes out, opening and closing doors all lets in humidity and Particle board is a sponge If you boil water on the stove often, all that steam damages them. The plastic coating over particle board cabinets in my opinion accelerates the damage . Once water gets behind the coating, its trapped and you won't see it right away. You will eventually see delamination of the facing and its not good. If you are going to spend 15k to have someone install new cabinets. Make sure they are all wood. Particle board cabinets are typically your low end cabinets that you see at big box stores that seem like a bargain.

It depends on the type of framing and the type of shower wall waterproofing method. But typically if you have a 2 x 4 framed wall and a floated shower you’ll have about 3 inches and if you have a 2 x 6 framed wall you’ll have about 5 inches.

Are those body sprays positioned correctly? I mean it looks like there too close to the wall to spray on your body without backing up against the wall. I think they'd be better positioned on the other side of the shower to spray in the opposite direction.

The stain looks rich. The paint is all one tone no variable . The stain and varnish finish is translucent allowing light to illuminate the wood with the stains adding color to the fiber of the wood . I love the varnish or transparent finish. I love to see all the variables of color in the wood. Otherwise you can use particle board and and just paint it to cover up all the cheap ugly. In centuries past real craftsmen would take meticulous skill with matched grain veneerers and make fine pieces that would last centuries with minimal care. Now days they sell garbage covered with a good paint job and call it quality. You will trash it in 5 years and go to IKEA and buy more particle board crap to replace it. Meanwhile I'll be scouring antique malls for real wood furniture that is a hundred years old to refinish and recondition to like new condition and it will be handed down to my children. Ask me do I like painted cabinet? Hell no! Paint the walls and put color into your real wood cabinets. That's what I'm doing even now as I take a break from building my solid wood cabinets. If it's "paint grade " it's the cheapest of the cheap! At 4:40 he said there is no such thing as a white stained cabinet... (that he sells). There are white pickled stain cabinets and they have been around for decades. Just google white pickled cabinets.
