I am absolutely positive that I have never had lint in my loc’s! I’m sorry that you have had this problem. I cut off my locs and looked inside for signs of any kind of debris and found none. I was tired of the constant need to interlock the new growth so I have relaxed my hair and applied a keratin smoothing treatment by “ANSWR” to coat each hair strand which strengthened and protects my hair from breakage while reducing the amount of maintenance needed to achieve the desired result from styling and it great!🎉
Frizzy is your best friend that means your locks are growing.!!!🥰🥰💚💛❤️🥰
Some pretty great info here! Thank you! I’m caucasian with 11-year-old dreads and have trimmed about 16 inches off twice in that time (they were mid-thigh length each time and still long after the trim). I’m back at that length and needing another trim so actually decided to do some research this time to see if I could learn something new! My hair type is naturally a mix of 2b to 3a in different areas and I’ve found it a bit tricky to find info for caucasian dreadlocks online. For me, when I trim my dreads I then have to comb out about 2-3 inches of the tip and then crochet it, piece by small piece back into a blunted tip. They don’t unravel on me (luckily!) but my hair texture just won’t lock up, or round out those ends again. I already use the crochet method for my root, length, and tip maintenance anyway, so it’s pretty familiar to me. I’ve just got to keep that in mind when trimming since they’ll be an extra few inches shorter after I’ve finished reblunting the tips! My worry comes from enjoying that combing out step and worrying about taking it up too far, or wanting to keep going! So far, so good, but being able to brush my hair (or better yet, have it brushed) is one of the things I’ve missed since getting my dreads! Those few weeks that it takes me to blunt the tips of my 61 dreads after a trim can be fun, albeit tedious! If you haven’t already, it might be nice to have a few videos highlighting the differences with even more hair types, including the difficulties and differences with locking up and maintaining straighter hair textures in dreadlocks. For example, I can’t do root interlocking to maintain regrowth or I’ll end up with these weird holes, loops, and bubbles in my dreads, which I have after caving a few times when I have had really long regrowth. Dread maintenance looks different for everyone, but there are some big differences with straighter vs curly/coily hair types. Might be handy to have more of that info out there!
Oil doesn't have the ability to moisturize-- water does that. So I don't use oil in my locs or on my scalp. I spritz my hair with water every day, and that's it.
I just started my loc babies a month ago and I’m SO GLAD I found you early in my journey. Thank you so much!! I choose you as my teacher lol I resonate with the wholistic approach and our textures are very similar. Much much Love 🩵🩵🩵
Whenever it starts to itch, OR when I see a good loc wash day video and get inspired lol.
Oooh chile my hair takes too long to dry but anyways s/n is that a t shirt turban on ya head ?

Thank you for letting me know about Thick locks i about to get them Little bit thicker.
the locs on the crown of my head are smaller than the rest of my head and i honestly love it. i did do them myself with free parts but i love the journey
3yr-still frizz
Every 2 weeks in the summer in the spring, fall and winter once a month only because it's cooler outside and take longer to dry 😉
You covered 3 of my reasons lol.
My loctician split one of my locs and it took me two weeks to notice 😅 but in all fairness I hadn't made it to 6 months locd yet so I haven't faced any consequences yet. If anything, I go back between wanting micros and sticking to my current size and my tiny loc reminds me to stay where I am at lol
Is the course for interlocking still available? I cannot find it
Do what your hair tells you to do. If its itchy dry and needs to be washed wash it! Do not fallow what other people do with their hair. Your scalp is not the same as someone elses!
Detox and dye. Or live with the lint. Lint comes with the territory unless you keep your hair wrapped to diminish exposure. Picking out lint, weakens and unravels locs.
I shampoo every week
Thank you for this video! Trying to grow dreadlocks
1 I take photos every 3 months.
My locs are long but most are thin at the back and middle. What can I do?
I live in a tropical environment (not in the states) and I’m curious to know if the flax will cause mold. I’ve used it in the past but in a very dry environment
I wear my hair in a protective crochet braids style and I wash my hair every 4-6 weeks. And I moisturize every Monday Wednesday Friday.

Can you please tell me where I can find this loc jewelry? Specifically the last one you added
Mine last 1 day 😢
Or you can get alteya rose water.
Hair dye will not always completely camouflage the lint that’s embedded in your locs. Sometimes it’s best to consult a professional colorist to dye it if you’re unsure. I attempted to do my own color and it never fully resolved my issue. I’m glad you spoke on that part. Great video!
What should I use to detox my locks?
Soak in Apple Cider Vinegar rinse. Works really well!
The entire thought of locks is just unsanitary.. that needs to be cut off and thrown away...yukk it's not a flattering style in general...
