FOR MELLA
So long "Angel of Voerde"
The love bound that held us together is shredded and torn apart. I wish I had someone to love me. But I can't live "with or without you"
"It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me but darling when I think of thee"

Oh the violets were scenting the woods, Nora Displaying their charm to the bee When I first said I loved only you, Nora And you said you loved only me The chestnut blooms gleamed through the glade, Nora A robin sang loud from a tree When I first said I loved only you, Nora And you said you loved only me The golden-robed daffodils shone, Nora And danced in the breeze on the lea When I first said...

Great song from a great country. Greets from the Netherlands
This is a level of misfortune that usually only happens to coyotes.

its a great sonng
It brings tears to my eyes. Well sung Patsy.
Very interesting, just a pity about Jerry Ryan and bono having to be in it .
And as I visited Dublin, one time I heard one of the natives affectionately refer to her statue, which is her and the wagon as “the tart with the cart “
I found this doco hugely enjoyable and informative . Thank you to who ever took the time to put this up .
There will never be another Luke Kelly. LEGEND.
Hopefully we are now entering a more equal and peaceful era. Respect for all cultures
I remember this song from grade school; we would sing this in music class. Hadn't heard it in years, but some reason, it stuck with me. I was only reminded of it recently, and had to find it (didn't know the name, but remembered some of the lyrics, so I went on that).
No Lyrics!!!!!!!
I’m 1/4 Irish and I lost some Irish family and I love this song and singing to it and my grandad loves singing this song and he is a fine man and lovely I did not know my granddad but I know he’s looking down
Here's to the Dubliners there music will live forever
Absolutely
I would like to apologize for my father in the audience. Not sure if it was him, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. LMAO 😂 Love this song. ❤❤❤
He certainly got replace on the same day by any id..t( youtube doesn' t like this foul language, I don't give a "care", anyway, they make enough money on me that they may pass on that, we'll see !) who would do the job. Never mind the injuries, the boss didn't pay for that . 2 month ago one of my fellow workers ( vineyard worker, pruning cleaning shoots ) got fired because he had a flu a couldn't come for two days. In France . Yeah, I know, I'm a commy, doesn't work that way now, if you want to live, you gotta get paid whatever that means, if you die soon, you'll cost less to society, so fuck you, go to work, don't complain, therer are thousands waiting behind you, if you don' t do the job just fuck off and leave ! Luckily I got no kid, no family to earn a living for so I can tell what I want, but I know how lucky I am, My hobo's two cents on that one . Peace brothers !
ronnie drew the king of ireland.. R.I.P sir
I've seen a meme about this story. It's mad to think it came from this song.

My mom used to sing this to me when I was a baby and still does sometimes
Was my brother’s party piece. We are English, so he apologises to any Irish in the room before the start, gets away with it though, chuckles all around!

Long live the Dubliners! They'll always have that special place with me...

Oh poor Dublin...
the irish style of telling stories from the past by singing or verse generation to generation is similar to how the ancient vikings told their story from then to now❤
