I currently produce content for the dystopian world of Fallout 76. Specifically housing (C.A.M.P.) videos. I may not be the best Fallout 76 builder in the United States, or even the state of Florida. But I am absolutely certain that I am the best in my apartment building on beachside in the greater Ormond Beach area. And no one can take that away from me. (Unless someone moves here that is better, in which case I would then be the second-best builder in the apartment building.)

This is an interesting topic. So many of the best scrappy builders in the game use certain broken items in the build menu to create more of a disheveled or dilapidated vibe in their camp. Meanwhile, I've invested tons of time and resources in procuring nearly all of the Atom Shop items and Scoreboard rewards over the years. I do not have every camp item in the game, but I have most of them. I took the time to break every camp item I had, film it, and label it so you can see what items may work for your scrappy build.

@@BlueTiger-ww4ke I always assume people know all the locations. I've been playing this game for at too long lol! This location is just north of the Gaulley Mine Spawnpoint along the road. There are actuality two bridges that you can build under that are very close to each other.
I'm not able to glitch the rug item. I am not having any issue with making the second "ghost item". The problem I'm having is that I can't place the camp on it and if I delete the floors under it, I fall through it. So, it has no substance.

Damn, I hate building in this game. Want clutter? Learn a glitch! Want to make small meaningful changes to enhance immersion? Glitch! You know they’ll put in a glass bottle collector (cause we can’t actually have a one up, but they want you to think it’s a one up) but we can’t have good building. Time to learn some glitch’s and completely redo my build since I’m at limit and can’t add anything.

I don't do trap building, but I think they're fun and often ingenious. I voluntarily condemn my toon to a death sentence whenever I see one. That said, some of the items remain tangible when destroyed. I always wondered why no one has tried a reverse trap before. As in repairing destroyed items (like in a scrappy build) as part of the trap. Just a thought!

Currently have 4 broken builds up atm if you’re looking for ideas.
I watched half of the video and I can only think about one thing - especially because I used a few broken walls in my camp: What if there's some griefer who repairs the wall/prop/the whole CAMP!?😱😱 How can you prevent that? It's quite scary tbh
My advice is to leave room in your budget for on flame trap just in case. That's really the only solution.

Okay so here’s a curveball question that no one may know for even a while because 95% of the featured Best Builds are weekly challenge boosted low effort barf builds; do destroyed items carry over into your best build? I love the Atlantic City weather but the weather machine for it is gigantic and hideous. It’s normally destroyed in my camp. I’m just curious if people are seeing this ugly ass weather machine poking out of my mineral extractor because there’s no place I can hide it properly. It’s like 15 feet tall, damn thing! 🤣🤌🏼

I don't have the answer for that in particular but gotta something similar to share. By direct experience (24 hours ago, Sept 6th 2024 - who knows if it's gonna change): 1- Best build that spawn in the server are invulnerable to nukes 2- you can activate your camp after a nuke, within the circle, and the camp will suffer no damage at all (or, I've been lucky). 3- I tweak the camp a bit before submitting (unlock stuff, remove "special" contraptions) - since it takes a screenshot of its state. I then revert the changes (no undo sadly) to keep using it for other purposes. It definitely helps taking some cool pics of your camp with a (already exploded) nuclear mushroom behind/around :P

You can't.
Sadly, you cannot. I also wish we had a way to have doors automatically close, and be able to be opened from the inside even when locked. But wishful thinking, right?

Great video idea! I love the look of lots of the broken things, but they so often get fixed by well-meaning players. It would be nice to have an option to turn off the ability for others to do repairs to your camp.

I destroyed the counselor camp tent thingie in my Skyline Valley build and I loved it way more. I've been kinda doing what you've done here just to see how things go. Now you've saved me some time lol.

This is interesting I've used destroyed walls in a build, but never thought about items! Do the long doors have collision? They would make interesting bridges! This is a really good showcase of items that really get the cogs turning!

The large concrete defensive walls with the carbiner looking attachments on it can be destroyed in sections. I have used those walls before on scrap camps and just destroyed the bottom 2 panels to make a door opening.

It was true, but I believe that Bethesda is working to reverse that change. We shall see on Tuesday.

Nothing bothers me as much as the mobs way off by the bridge. Those guys (usually scorched but sometimes super mutants) drive me nuts!

They say it still works as long as you have a jetpack and time the jetpack just right. I've also had people say they have no problem with it on other platforms. Not sure what the issue is.
