We decided to take a day trip to Rockport State Park in Concrete, WA. We were foraging and looking for a new wild strain to add to the culture collection, Hericium erinaceus, commonly known as the Lion's Mane mushroom. We found these two on a big old maple tree. It’s amazing when you set out looking for a specific type and find it on your trip. This is a great State Park for the day with amazin...

Gomphodius!
Gomphidius subroseus is the correct name, but i see you got the general idea. Common name is Rosy Slimespike . Actually is edible once you peel off the pileus. Good for you on the name. Thanks for your comment👊🍄
Don't eat them dry them put them in glass jars around your house with the lids on loose so the healthiest molecules on the planet can escape and breathe them Best kept secret on the Planet great find very healthy mushrooms
Hello . Thank you for the information. Never heard that before, but I will say with the amount of assorted type of mushrooms i have in my home space, I'm sure I'm getting a ton of molecules from them. As per not eating them , well I do eventually consume them. Thank you again for watching and commenting. Have a great day 👊🍄
Check out Otzi the iceman he wore birch polypore to keep healthy 5000 years ago we use mushroom aromatics for cancer treatments and lots off other things trying to get the word out.
Hello , yes very aware of Otzi the Iceman. I have been sharing adjunct protocols and the information about the use of medicinal mushrooms for various treatments for many years now. Very much a "How to" person" when it comes to this. I walk my talk. Thank you for sharing this. Great to know others who are like minded.🍄❤️
Would you move the camera slowly please 😁
Hello, I have already made the video, I'm sorry, I do realize that I had moved the camera a little too fast at times. I will try and do better for the next videos. Thank you for letting me know and watching. 👍🍄
Such an awesome video! Just found some really muddy ones near San Francisco. Another rain coming through this weekend so next week may be a good week!
Thank you. I'm happy you liked it. It's great to hear you're still finding them and with the incoming rains, it should be good for more. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you find some, always happy when anyone finds some mushrooms👊🍄
@@ImFungiHunter Do you plan to look for any morels this coming season? I expect to see some in March and April here near San Francisco, CA
Hey Murray, yes indeed. Actually start scouting out some of the Burns from last year and paying attention to people posting and sharing if they find some. Always on the look out for signs and also check some areas around the Cottonwoods and landscape areas. Still a bit too cold and with the recent snows , i'm sure it will be a bit before we see some. Good luck finding some. Let me know when you do . Happy Fungi Friday👊🍄
@@ImFungiHunter a thank you Hunter! Good luck to you too. Do you mean Morels in your comment?

@@ImFungiHunter Currently in Western Washington but first learned mushroom hunting in the pine barrens of NJ.
@@masamunesword Nice , well western WA has a lot of potential for you to find one. More during the Fall time, but yeah great opportunity for sure. Check out the Maples when you see damage or dying trees they sure do seem to like them.👍🍄
Is it a Hypholoma Capnoides? Congrats on posting your first video. Keep it up! 🍄🍄
Hello Thank you for that. Yeah Exciting for sure, more to come. To answer your question , No it is not. Hypholoma capnoides is a saprohyte that grows on decaying wood. This one in the video is not mycorrhizal, it is a "PARASITE" type that grows on the mycelium of Suillus . (HINT) It's in the Bolete family.(HINT) You also have to peel the slimy layer off the cap to eat it (HINT) The very bright YELLOW base is also a major key (HINT) . Give you 2 more tries and then I will tell you. Thank you for attempting. Great to see your homesteading channel as well. Great stuff.👊🍄❤️
Congratulations on your first video! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
