Where would I input information such as Maintainer ID and supervisor ID in a planned maintenance work order?

Hi Gman, first of all congrats on your role! I was also a noob, everyone is when starts something new. Just don’t give up and keep moving forward. Projects are the best way of getting experience. Learning by doing is the way to go. Now answering your question. Officially in SAP terms there is no such thing like Maintainer ID and Supervisor ID. If you: - Mean Technician & Maintenance Planner - these are maintained in the order header. Technician on the header level is like a person responsible for making sure the work is done. This data is called Work Center in SAP, can be also maintained on Operation level, then it means this guys will do the work. You can go further and assign User ID of the specific Techncian on Operation level. It’s also possible to enter User ID/Personnal number on the header level as a Person Responsible. - If the data you mentioned is customized specifically for your Train Company, check out also something called Partners. It’s another thing in an order, you gotta open the navigation menu in the Work Order, somewhere u will find a section called ‘Partners’. You can assign there Business Partners, basically all the parties which are involved and relevant for this Order. Maybe this is what you mean. - If by Maintainer u mean the person who created the order - it comes automatically and it’s visible in the Administration data of the order. Lemme know how it went bro. I am able to assign people to operations through Assign Maintenance order operations but names not reflecting in Maintenance scheduling board.

Hi Amit, its better if you raise this question at SAP community in RSH section. I haven’t experienced this issue. Maybe there is some Note for it too. Let me know what was the issue there. :) Cheers, Dan

I followed all the config steps but when I got maintenance scheduling board, select an operation and click on assign people we get message "No people found for the selected work centers. Set up teams in the "Manage Teams and Responsibilites" app."

Thanks Senthilnathan! SAP delivers two config docs for this solution - one is for BTP and all the other technical things, the second one is for the App configuration. Just Google them, they are easily accessible at SAP help portal (make sure u selected the right version). Since this is an MDK app of course the core thing is to subscribe the Mobile Services in BTP, setup the Oauth and other stuff. You will find it in the doc. Cheers man, Dan

Thanks for your point of view Vijay! I agree with the best practices approach and I am a big enthusiast of it. It makes the business life easier. SSAM is not for every company - this is my personal finding. It ain’t cheap, if u r a big player - for sure u can go for it, but smaller companies won’t give it a go. This is what I hear really often, at least in EMEA countries. Everything is possible with custom development - in this case as showed in the video - u need an MDK guy and other folks to deliver the enhancements. If I knew SSAM ain’t so expensive (let’s see how it changes throughout the years) I would fully agree that it should be the choice #1 for mobile solutions supporting EAM. I really enjoyed my last project where we implemented SSAM 2305 for one of our Clients! Cheers man, Dan

Hey there, thanks a lot! You can do it directly in the order, or via Fiori App ‘Find maintenance orders’ or if u have RSH u can also do it there. Basically u use PA30/PA10, Google something called ‘Mini HR’, this is what u need at least. Then u gotta sync the HR data with BUPA (Business Partner), there is basically a program which u just need to run once u create a Personal Number (PA30/PA10). Hope it helped! Cheers, Dan

Thanks for the comment Ramin:) App manager came in 2020, it’s still an option. I agree the tool is recommended, but it’s not the only way to handle this stuff. It means the way I showed it is correct, but can be also done with App Manager. Any thoughts after using it? Cheers man, Dan

@@sap_dude No, you should not be using Designer for anything new. App Mgr works with App Descriptor concept, totally different from before. Sap kept Designer only for maintaining already created objects. Any new tile/tm should be created in App Mgr otherwise it will be created in the wrong area. The tool itself is not as good as Designer in my opinion, but it stores things completely differently. People will just be making more conversation work for themselves if they create objects in Designer.

Hey Johannes, Thanks a lot! You answered yourself already, you are totally right. I will also add something from myself. If you want to create 2-5 BOMs for Equipment in a manual way (you open a transaction/Fiori App and enter the data manually) it doesn’t matter how you do it. You can for example create a BOM, during spare parts entry (SAP Materials) you will receive an error if some Spare Part does not exist in the system. So you just save the BOM as it is, create those Materials and then go back to the BOM and update it. However, if you are in a phase, where you perform data migration, so you got lots of BOMs to be created automatically (via data import) - this won’t work. You gotta make sure all the spare parts are maintained in the system first, and then you launch data migration cockpit/LSMW or other mass creation tool to create those BOMs for you. If some spare parts are missing in the system - you will receive errors, confusion will kick in, you will be more a Firefighter than an SAP guy, you will need to extinguish those issues. Thanks man! Proactive Maintenance is in other words Preventive Maintenance. You start with an order, in most of the cases you plan it automatically via Maintenance Plans. If you receive an error about notification, it means your configuration is lacking of some settings. Start with checking if this order type is linked with a notification, if it creates a notification in the background. I don’t plan to publish new videos on this topic, I covered it roughly in this and other videos. Deep dive videos are part of the Ultimate EAM Course, which I created. Now my goal is to focus more on UI/UX topics and IAM Suite like Asset Performance Management, Business Network Collaboration, Service and Asset Manager and others.
